GMazza Salon

Ok, so in the not-​too-​distant past I was cruisin’ Central Ave in Scarsdale (ok, I was headed to meet family for dinner at a near-​by restaurant) when I realized I was WAY early. So, I decided it would be a great time to get my hair coif’d. The art-​deco style lettering G Mazza caught my eye, and I was like what the h@ll… I’ll give this place a try. (see what I did there?)
I walk in and immediately felt comfortable. The front desk girl, Nicole was cute enough and quite hospitable. She asks me if I have an appointment. Looking around, I had the run of the joint *at that moment*, so I said «no, do I need one?» She laughed and said «no, not at this moment… I guess.» Then she asks me if I had someone in mind to cut my hair. I said that this was my first visit — as I scanned the shop. In a hot second I was like «ooo, who’s the blonde at the end of the bar?» She said «that’s Tanya.» I asked «is she available?» Nicole says «I’m pretty sure she’s spoken for, but she is free to cut your hair.» (bahdumbum!) I like this place already.
So Nicole introduced me to Tanya. Ok, so bare with me… this woman smelled as good as she looked. Oh my… deliciously sexy and smells good. Dangerous combination.
Tanya and I engage in a little nice-​to-​meet-​you chit chat and then she offered to be the one who not only cuts my hair, but will shampoo me, too. Score! (as I know that doesn’t usually happen).
Those magic fingers put me in a trance. I offered her a job as my personal scalp masseuse. She laughed and respectfully declined the offer. Thank God, actually. I’m merely a high school band director at an all-​girl Catholic high school. I ain’t got that kinda cash! No harm, no foul. We’re good!
So, after the wash, we got down to business. Tanya took a look at the hot mess atop my skull. I pointed out a cowlick here and a cowlick there. She asked me how I usually wear my hair style… etc… and boom, she went to work.
Admittedly, I wasn’t paying much attention to what was going on as she was close to me. The cuteness and the smell had me totally overwhelmed. I’m a guy… shame on me, I know. She was wonderfully chatty. Nothing too much, but definitely no awkward silences. As she chatted though, I don’t think I actually hear a word she said. I just smiled and said «uh huh» a lot. God, I hope she didn’t tell me her pet cat just died…
Anyways, she finished the job and I honestly couldn’t have been more impressed. When it comes to my hair, I am very particular, and Tanya nailed it. Thank you again Tanya for a job well done. I will recommend you to my friends, and I will certainly be back. Watch out. You’ve been warned. HAHAHAHA!

I’ve been coming to this salon for almost 10 years. Since before they relocated and changed the name. I started off slow because I was so scared of letting someone new color my hair. So I went for a few haircuts here and there so I could really observe the staff and everyone’s experience. I finally went for it and let Gennaro highlight my hair. He did a great job and always has. Now, I wouldn’t dare go to someone else. I’ve had my hair cut there by a few people. I always request Tanya but there are some other great stylists there that do great too. Tina has also cut my hair and did a fantastic job. Never had luck with Endira but I’m not even sure she still works there. My only complaint with this salon is the price of a haircut. The price was raised to 80 dollars and it’s outrageous. The hair color is pricey too but I’m okay with that. I’m grateful to have beautiful color and I’ll pay what I have to but a simple haircut? No. And that’s not to discredit Tanya’s skills. It’s just that my hair is simple and straight. I usually get a trim and some long layers. Truthfully, I could probably do it myself. So that’s why they lose two stars. They should give deals to their loyal customers or something because although Gennaro won’t lose me as a customer for color they have lost me as a customer for haircuts. I’ve been looking for a new place.

I am a customer of Tanya’s at GMazza Salon. She is very professional & her #1 priority is making sure you love your hair cut & color. I have had my color & cut done by Tonya & I am always happy with the turn out & if I wasn’t, rest assure she would do whatever she could do to make sure I was happy before I left the salon. She is very good at what she does & is incredibly sweet as well, which I find rare in some hair dressers lately. It is a pleasure going there:)

Extraordinary salon. It is truly like a trip to Italy. The owners and operators bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. You can’t miss on any of the services, They offer imported from Italy chemical free products. No one else is that concerned. Keratin, hair color shampoos are all safe!
Make an appointment. PS the hair washes are more like massages!

Not a good experience at all. The girl who did my hair was very nice but my highlights were orange with zebra looking stripes. I had expressed how nervous I was about getting my hair colored, showed pictures and everything of the natural looking, subtle blonde highlights I wanted and clearly she didn’t understand. I purposely looked for a nice looking, expensive salon, paid a good chunk of change and the service did not live up to those standards.

I’m only giving two stars because the lady who washed my hair did a great job and felt like I was getting a spa treatment until the hair part… Just look at the picture, it says it all. Tanya, i don’t know what happened. This is the worst haircut I have weed gotten. I asked for a trim and layers so my full thick hair wouldn’t look like a Christmas trees… I felt like my hair got aimlessly hacked off and I really wanted to cry when I left. I never spend time and money going to nice salons because I the idea of pampering myself does not exist… First time in 5 years going someplace other than a mastercuts, and I was so disappointed. Layers in back are non existent. Let’s not even discuss the angles. I’ve never had a worse cut.

Just got home from G Mazza Salon and absolutely loved it. I had a very dull haircut before I went in and was looking for a new cut that could add a little bounce to my hair. I saw Cindy and she was great — She did an amazing job. She listened to everything I said and gave me exactly what I wanted. I also got 50% off for being a new customer which is an amazing deal. The Salon was clean and bright. There is a parking lot for the salon on the side of the building. I also would suggest making an appointment, you can make one online as well if you don’t feel like calling. I will definitely be going back to see Cindy! Overall great experience

Ana was my stylist in Delaware & she’s great! I actually found her as an assistant to the owner of one of the salons I used to go to. I liked her work so much, I stopped going to the owner & made her my permanent stylist. I’ve followed her around when she’s changed salons & even recommended her to my friends.
I specifically remember an amazing experience my friend had with her after her wedding hair/​makeup trial with her stylist went badly. She was on the verge of tears because her stylist just couldn’t do what she wanted. I suggested Ana & the rest was history — she loved her & used Ana for everything the day of the wedding.
Ana is great at what she does & is always in the know when it comes to trends.

THIS PLACE IS EVERYTHING!
My wife walked in the door after getting a color and style from here and I did a triple take. STUNNING. We Then went out to dinner with a group of friends and everyone went bezerk. Her normally straight hair held curls in it all evening and she said from start to finish the staff was professional and patient with what she asked for and she’s never going anywhere else. Loves it here.
