Scarborough Family Chiropractic

My chiropractor in San Antonio recommended this practice when I moved last summer. Great advice!
I’ve seen Dr. Cayer mostly, but also had adjustments from Dr. Emlet and Dr. Macguire. They are all fabulous, caring doctors. I also highly recommend the resident acupuncturist, Elizabeth Doane. I’ve had some TMJ and lower back issues, but the chiropractic care and acupuncture have greatly improved my quality of life!

Surprised more people haven’t reviewed this terrific place. I discovered them at a 5K race, of all places, giving out free massages and offering free exams for new patients. I honestly was not expecting to need chiropractic adjustments because I naively assumed the typical aches and pains I occasionally experienced was not spinal cord related and just the consequence of physically active hobbies. Little did I realize my day job was slowly killing me behind a desk. My first exam included a back x-​ray, a couple measurements, range of motion tests and adjustment. The periodic office visits I would schedule hereafter only took a maximum of 15 minutes, or less.
How do they rate? If I ever had to change chiropractors, based on my experience with Scarborough Family, the next one would have some high expectations to match. As soon as you walk in the receptionists are super polite, friendly, and remember your face. Seldom do I have to wait long before a doctor will see me. They take their jobs and your health very professionally, I never felt intimidated, misled, or confused. The doctor answered every question I could think of too. They also coached me in specific stretching techniques, and exercises. The adjustment tables are semi-​private too so you can maintain some level of dignity among the other patients.
The office itself is bright, spacious, clean, and inviting. Basically everything you’d want from a doctor’s office. They even have tea and fruit to sample from. It isn’t hard to schedule visits either. I’ve had to reschedule day of and they usually can happily fit you in the same day. The scarborough location is on Route 1, and pretty convenient from Portland. They also offer various types of massage, which I’ve taken advantage of on many occasion. Although I haven’t taken advantage of them, they offer special classes every month, featuring different speakers, or themes of health.
Oh and the treatment itself? A couple loud cracks and I really did leave feeling less stiff in certain sides of my back, and/​or neck. So you definitely should label me a believer. I highly recommend the Family.

The doctors at Scarborough Family Chiropractic has helped me become pain free from my back aches. I drive a lot in my current position, this has caused my back to be out of align and kick up my acid reflex again. By having adjustments, my acid reflex is gone and I am pain free from my lower back while driving or bending over.
