Fred Meyer

The health food section is extremely cramped and user unfriendly. The bin isle is very narrow and difficult to use. The selection is small, and it is rare to get any help anywhere in this store.

Try the Pumpkin Pudding cake samples, great. When I asked where I could buy one; none on display. I was told, sorry they are all still frozen. LOL. Next, purchased «boneless» pork shoulder… Yep still had a bone. Next, packaged rib eye, 11.99 a pound, it looked odd so I checked with the meat guy stocking the case. He confirmed my suspicion it was in fact a «chuck steak» mislabeled. Meat guy did not remove the package, so some other customer paid 11.99 a lb for chuck steak.

Nice store, good selection, big isles, who could ask for more?

Overall good store only issue I have is the fact that they do not ask for id when using your debit cards at the gas pumps. I have had someone use my card without my knowledge and while once I knew I was ok with it sure would have been nice to have it validated at the time of use. Especially since I know of a convicted ID thief who lives in Scapoose and uses their pumps for gas using someone else cards.

As I always say, You will find it at Freddies! So much better than the other national guys!

Creepy people are always trying to talk to me here. It’s one of the few one one-​stop-​shops in the area though, where you can get groceries, clothing, etc. As much as I hate going in here, I have to give them and their employees props for quickly finding us some pants that fit my husband (he’s tall, hard to find ones long enough at most stores) after we got roped into a bit of cow-​rodeoing which ended with my husband falling face forward in the mud as he dove for a calf, ruining his pants.

Can take care of all my shopping need in one trip saving time and gas. Easy to find items can do grocery and gardening itmes in one stop.

My husband was told to come back at 7am when they got there shipment in of ammo. He waited with other coustomers and employee’s for the management. Then management showed up wheeled all the ammo into the backroom. He came back with all 223 and 22lr bagged up in the Fred Meyer bags and handed it off to his daughter. 3 box limit apparently does not apply to the workers! The employees are keeping all the highly sought ammunition for them selves ! I think this is BS ! Left nothing for the coustomers !!

The reason Fred Meyer receives another one star is their gas pump attendants. The State of Oregon bans all topping off gas tanks in all vehicles in Oregon.
«Topping off is when an attendant continues to fill a gasoline tank after the nozzle has clicked off. If an attendant can confirm that a vehicle tank is not full after the click off, the attendant may continue to dispense fuel using best judgment and caution to prevent a spill.
Oregon law now prohibits topping off vehicle fuel tanks during refueling. Topping off causes gasoline drips and spills that release harmful pollution, wastes fuel, and causes vapor recovery equipment in vehicles and at gas pumps to malfunction.»
So my spouse pulls up to the island to fill up and the attendant «Jim» proceeds to top off the tank. When my husband asked him to stop and went onto explain it’s against the law Jim proceeded to argue about the fact there is no ban and its not against the law.
Needless to say we are angry and not happy and plan to take action against Fred Meyer this time we are going to turn them in to the State of Oregon because this isn’t the first time this has happened at this Fred Meyer.

I bought fuel at «Fred Meyer Fuel Stop #462» in Scappoose, OR on 8÷18÷2012. My R.V. «The Black Pearl» takes diesel. The price that day was $ 4.03 per gallon. The gas stations in surrounding towns had higher prices.

This is one of the few FM’s that has gas pumps out front, and it makes you wonder why more of them don’t do it. It is invariably one of the cheapest gas deals around.
There’s rarely a lengthy wait at check out at THIS Freddie’s, mostly I s’pose b/​c they are ok with having more than 1 or 2 checkout lanes open at any given time, unlike so very many other places.
The people-​watching is invariably more entertaining at the Peninsula or Interstate stores there in No Po, but Scappoose is outside the suffocating restrictions of the big city! That means, among other things, not only can you still get ammo from the sporting goods section, you can still get guns! This is why Russian or Iranian or Zombie invasions will NEVER be fully successful in this great land of ours. Sure, they’ll mop up in the hoity toity «gun restricted» zones in the big cities. But the country folk? Well, it’s like Hank Jr says, Country folk can survive! They can plow fields, all day long, they can catch cat fish from dusk till dawn, ain’t too many things, them ol’ boys cain’t doooooo…

I would compare Freddie’s to a Super Walmart, but with a friendly, intelligent staff.
This is your one-​stop shopping center for pretty much anything you might need, and you’ll usually find it at a pretty reasonable price. No reason to go anywhere else.

I’ve been there multiple times. Horrible, horrible service. I’ll never go back to a Fred Meyer Jewelers for anything! My service is going else where.
On multiple occasions I’ve stood there and no employee would help me. Same thing happened to my boyfriend. They weren’t even busy. They knew we were there and still no service. Helped the guy that came in after me but just ignored us, more then once.
As I said, I’ll NEVER go back.

This is the most awesome store. I live very close to this store and I am there on average twice a day. I am able to get my groceries fresh, as I need them, and can make everything we eat in my house pretty much made to order. They have the best bakery of any supermarket I have ever been in, anywhere in North America. That is saying A LOT!!! Their deli serves the most amazing grilled panini’s for lunch or dinner and their produce section is only missing a few minor gourmet items I need to purchase elsewhere (heirloom or yellow tomatoes, champagne grapes, etc)
I am also VERY impressed with their nutritional health section. Its really stocked quite well with all the things I would normally make a trip to somewhere like Whole Foods for.
They have a really great clothing section as well. I have been able to purchase some really great additions to my wardrobe from their clearance racks which is always a plus, mostly athletic wear, but a few swimsuit pieces and my husband has had even better luck in the clothing dept than I have.
The staff at this store is amazingly friendly and I feel very welcome and appreciated as a regular customer.
I will always pick this store as my first choice for almost anything I need.

This is my favorite Fred Meyer in Oregon. Everything is organized, people that work there are friendly. The guy in produce section knows my family by name. It’s not so crowded with people and it smells like a new store even though it’s not new.
The con is so far away from SE where I live, but I always come here when I visit my family in Scappoose. I want the produce guy to know me by name too, someday…
