I came here for a perm. I had to wait 20 minutes past my appointment before the stylist was ready. I have very straight hair and explained exactly what I wanted(and brought pictures) to the stylist. She said she could definitely do that for me. Everyone was friendly while I was there which is pretty much the only good thing I can say about the place. The stylist set a timer and started doing another haircut. When it went off she ignored it and then 10 minutes later told the assistant to wash the solution out– without ever checking on it. As soon as my hair was taken out of the rods I could tell it was going to be a nightmare. The stylist tried desperately to make my hair curly. She put a ton of product in it and used the diffuser to try to fluff it up. I ended up with a rats nest on my head. After rinsing it the next day my hair was kinky, frizzy and overly damaged. Within a week only the top layer even kept any kink at all and the rest is just frizzy. She clearly didn’t apply the perm solution evenly because it should have all had the same texture. When I left the woman at the desk tried to tell me it looked great. You could tell she didn’t mean it. Huge waste of money. The lemon tree did a better job perming my hair.

Two days ago I went to a different salon to touch up my roots & add highlights. Somehow, the colorist took it as darkening my hair and making my roots darker — I was mortified. I made an appointment last minute with Christopher Jon and they were very accommodating. I didn’t know any of the colorist, but I picked a random name from the list on their online booking. I ended up with Jenna and I could not have been more thrilled. I showed her my dilemma and how I wanted to be VERY blonde but in a natural way. She did the demi highlights & all I can say is she’s very skilled and I’ve officially found my new colorist!

Went there only a few times to the spa & just loved it. The tranquility room is so relaxing. Always pleased with my haircuts. All the stylist I tried so far are great. Myra is excellent for all types of waxing. Pedicures & Manicures are also good. Love the place it is also so clean. Told my family the only gifts I want is Gift Certificates to Christopher Jon!

I just went to this salon to get an elite spa pedicure and it was amazing! They are a very clean spa and the staff I interacted with was very friendly. I’m not sure why this place didn’t get the best reviews, I had no problem at all!

My father gave my mother and me giftcards for Christmas last year to Christopher Jon. I went once for a haircut, which the owner Frank gave me. The haircut was fine — I have really long curly hair so a haircut doesn’t make much difference to me. But, his assistant have me an awesome blowout! My mom told me I could us the remaining balance of her GC, but she wasn’t sure how much was on it. I called the Salon and the girl told me I needed to come in to get the balance. I explained to her that I now live in the city and didn’t want to come out if the card didn’t have anthing on it. She told me she would try to look it up later as they were really busy and would call me back. I gave her all of the info, but she NEVER called me back. I found an email contact on their website, so I emailed them the situation along with my mother’s name and the GC #. I received an email back a few days later stating that I had $ 30 left on the card. I called and made an appointment for the next time I went to see my family on the Island, again with the owner hoping to get the same great blow out. Another girl washed my hair so I never saw the owner/stylist until my hair was already wet. When he was cutting it, he commented that my hair had a little wave to it. My hair is not«a little wavy,» it is really curly. I mean, how can he know how to give me a good cut if he doesn’t even know what my hair looks like dry??? None of this mattered anyway since he just gave me a literal trim, like cut the ends straight across which took all of the 5 minutes. His new assistant gave me a blow out which took FOREVER! The ownder came over and commented on how dry my hair was and tried to sell me some products. The assistant kept rolling her eyesw at him while blowing out my hair, which I thought was unprofessional to say the least. Then when she was finally done, the owner cam back over and commented that he didn’t realize that my hair was colored which is why it was so dry. Again, maybe he should have seen it before it was wet. And, the blowout was not good, could have done a better job myself. As if the past hour and half weren’t a big enought waste of my time, the girl at the register coulnd’t seem to figure out the balance on my GC. She called a woman over who must have been the manager who was really rude to the new employee and was’t much better to me. I explained to her that I emailed and she said she was the one who emailed me the balance, but wasn’t sure where she came up with the $ 35 since she saw it only had $ 10 on it. She also told me I couldn’t use it because it belonged to my mother. After about 30 minutes wasted to get all of this worked out, I wound up getting $ 10 off of my haircut and not even so much as an apology. I had been there several times before and always felt that they were pushy salespeople and extremely pretentious. I would NEVER go back.
