Your typical Jersey diner. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Was very busy on a Tuesday night but we were seated quickly and our food was served in a timely manner. Huge menu so there are plenty of options. There are no napkins or silverware on the table and we had to ask the waitress for it. I ordered the chicken stir fry which was quite tasty. Been here before for breakfast and eggs are good also. Place looks outdated and could use a touch up.

closing in three days. ceiling had mold. The bathrooms needed renovation as well as the staff. Don’t even get me started on the terrible food. The potatoes there had a cardboard effect on them. As good as the French toast LOOKED it was very eggy. On the other hand, the restaurant was a family business. I would not recommend this restaurant.

I drove a friend to a nearby Honda dealer to buy a new car & he took me here for breakfast, as it was just down the road from the dealer. First thing I noticed when we sat down was the booth seat was torn. Not a little tear, but major. Ok, so they don’t repair the furniture as often as they should. Waitress takes our order and I ask for a hot chocolate. Waitress comes back and says they ran out of hot chocolate. WHAT? The first cold morning of the season, a Saturday morning no less, and they are out of hot chocolate? I’m just a few months shy of my 60th birthday and I have never heard of a diner running out of hot chocolate. Send someone down Route 9 to a supermarket for petes sake. There are only about 100 on the damn road. So I order an omelet and ask for potato pancakes as a substitute for the home fries. What do I receive? Potato pancakes? No. Home fries? No. I get french fries. At that point I didn’t bother saying anything. The eggs were just ok. A little runny, but ok. The fries were actually pretty good. And I received a decent sized order. But, not getting 2 of the items I asked for make me say I would most likely find a different diner if back in the area.

I was in the area purchasing a vehicle and stopped in here for breakfast as it was near the dealership. Much like the other Unilocalers, I agree that the interior of this diner needs a major facelift. And the Men’s room could use a renovation also. As for the food, for breakfast I had the Blueberry Pancake Deluxe, which included three eggs sunny side up, ham, bacon AND sausage. It was tasty and filling. No complaints.

The service was good but the food itself is sub par. Even though It has been around for years it is nowhere near a 5 star establishment. In fact I give it a low rating(1⁄5).

The owner of Peter Pank should be ashamed of themselves, its disgusting! Terrible food and it’s gross inside! This place had been a classic quality diner since the 50s! Every local enjoyed this place for years! I passed by one night and noticed it was closed after midnight. What the hell happened??? Renovate! Sell it! Do something!

You’d be better off looking for discarded beef jerky behind a 7 – 11 than eating at this place. Everything tasted weird, even the Cokes. They messed up corn. How do you mess up corn. Our waitress was inappropriately attentive to the point of being creepy. I have never wanted to get the Hell out of anywhere as much as I did this place. We were starving and ate as much as we could choke down. Neither of us felt particularly well afterwards. There isn’t a single chance I’d ever eat here again. They could burn the place to the ground, salt the Earth and then burn the salt and I still wouldn’t eat there.

It’s a true Jersey dinner, and one of the few left. It’s open well past midnight, the food is fresh and the menu is gigantic. Here’s Peterpank in a nutshell; my family was here a couple days after Hurricane Sandy. The waitress informed us, unfortunately, the entire menu wasn’t available as the place was being powered by generators. Completely understandable. What don’t they have? Wings. That’s it. You can get EVERYTHINGELSE on the entire menu.

It is old. As a breakfast place, it is OK, maybe even better than OK. I am not really sure if I would eat lunch/dinner here. Just a feeling. I think you will be fine for breakfast.

I have tried this place three times and it’s passable at best. There aren’t a lot of diners in the area so if you are hungry and its late, stop by.

We came into Peterpank driving back to Brooklyn from jersey, terrible decision. When you go in, it looks old, and kinda dirty but you think maybe there’s a chance that it’ll be okay. We sat down and were given THREE different menus each! I thought that was ridiculous, I should be able to look at one menu and make a decision of what to order. Our waiter was nice and came right over and gave us waters and took our order. I ordered the quesadillas with well done french fries. My quesadillas were disgusting, and the fries never even made it out. No one I ate with enjoyed their food. The food was terrible, and the place really needs a facelift. After looking around the diner I really started to get grossed out. I also went into their bathroom before I left, and thank god it was after I ate. The bathroom was disgusting and looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in 25 years. Do yourself a favor and save your money, and do not come to this diner.

This is by far and away the worst diner in New Jersey. The food is awful and mostly frozen garbage. Every time I’ve went the the waiter/waitress was a crackhead. No thanks.

This place has been around forever. I’ve come here on many late night occasions which is probably why it was tolerable. We ate here since we happened to be in the area, but it was not a positive experience. There was a hair in my husband’s burger and the food was not so good. It just feels dirty in there. Our waitress didn’t offer to refund us or get another burger though she did apologize AND we left her a tip. We ended up not having to pay for the meal when the cashier asked us about our food. I don’t think I can bring myself back to eat here again.

We came here for a late breakfast and it was pretty disappointing. Our waiter was fine, but our food was clearly microwaved or had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. My eggs were soggy, the hash browns were mushy, and the bacon was very greasy and soggy as well. Everything had that just out of the microwave taste to it. I can’t say that we’ll come back. As a note, the bathroom’s are deeply in need of cleaning and repair.

the service was fast & the waitress was friendly the food wasn’t bad but i can’t brag about it we had the open face pot roast sandwich(hot) with gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, applesauce the meat was a little too fatty for me the gravy upset my stomach somewhat i don’t know if we will be going back here again not far from the house but i am sure there are other places that are better to eat

I’ve tried giving this restaurant a few chances and each time I’ve been disappointed. The food is bland, dry, or greasy. From the burgers, to their wraps, I’ve tried many different dishes and each one was worse than the previous one. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to eat! The only good thing about this place is that they have a liquor license and can serve certain alcoholic drinks, although even those tend to be poured light handed.

Where to start … I was greeted by a girl who sat us down not in the nice booths by the window but in the back all alone by the bathroom. Even though it was less than half full. The menu reads«fine dining» but in the back also says, not responsible for damage to your car. I was in the mood for a burger as you can’t go bad with that — but noticed 15 specialty burgers and a menu that was huge— so I decided to just get an omelette as there’s not too much damage you can do with that. The kids ordered pasta — sauce was running and meatballs tasteless. My omelette was okay but then again it’s an egg — Waitress was nice but when I left I felt like I needed a bath — the star is for the waitress. I had a dirty feeling throughout —– will Not be going back

Never will go this shithole again… Decided to get breakfast for my lady and myself for takeout… I was at the take out area and said I wanted a two eggs were $ 2.50 and cheese was another 75 cents and I requested to have it on a bagel plus i wanted another bagel with just butter… When coming home the bagel with butter was not there… The hostess who looked cranky said I was only charged for the egg and cheese on a bagel… $ 4.50 for that is a blatant ripoff and was like I will have the other bagel put in now if you want to come back… I just drove 3 miles and wasted gas due to your dumb ass employees not using their brains… Its bad enough this diner was full of drunks at 3am when the Birch Hill was open… She also had an attitude because I used my debit card and was saying it will be a $ 10 minimum… Peter Skank Diner will no longer get business from me…

Worst diner I’ve ever stepped foot in. Waitress was rude. Breakfast was greasy. How do you make greasy pancakes?! It is too hot, and when we asked about turning on the air or opening a window? They said no, it’s too early in the season(it’s 74 degrees out) in April. Very disappointed.

I pass by this diner all the time so I decided to try it. Service was good. The food was another story altogether. I ordered a beef gyro supreme(which is my default diner dish) and it was average at best. The beef was dry and overcooked, the Greek salad wasn’t very fresh, and the french fries were unevenly cooked(some overdone & some a bit underdone). Decided to try it again, as I saw some good reviews & maybe it was an off day for the cooks, and ordered a deluxe cheeseburger in medium. My thinking was that a cheeseburger would be pretty easy to get right. The burger was cooked medium(good), the beef wasn’t very good though as it was under-seasoned, and again the fries were not cooked all that evenly. There are way better diner choices in the area.
