BEWARE!!! Read the reviews and believe them… there is a reason for so many one star reviews. READ the contract, and do not listen to the verbiage that the sales rep tells you. U-haul is a big company, but not nearly as big as the attitudes of the employes that represent them at this location! Obvious now why they were the only ones with availability when I needed a van… wait and rent from someone else!

I had the same problem others have stated with the manager. Scheduled a hitch install apparently through the call center and not the store. When I showed up he acted like I was a bother to him and said over the radio to his front desk receptionist«well I didn’t know anything about this!» Then he came up front, grabbed my keys and walked off without saying a word. I felt bad for the receptionist, she was pleasant. I know for sure I wouldn’t want to work for this guy. I won’t be coming back to this uhaul either. Just drive the extra miles to Pooler.

Horrible customer service! I reserved a 10ft truck and trailer and was not once informed that there was a possibility my reservation might be moved to a town at least half an hour away, out of the way, which is what happened. I had already received a confirmation call and voicemail from U-Haul headquarters or what have you, which informed me my truck at least would certainly be available at this location. When I arrived to retrieve my reserved item, I was not happy to find this contradiction. I asked to speak with the manager, Russell Cooksey(from a business card I picked up the day I made my reservation). Basically, he and his staff were on the defense that, as I had not personally received a call from anyone specifically employed at that particular location, that any confirmation from headquarters was null. I even asked why, then I hadn’t received a call from him or his staff to inform me of the changes, to which he responded that he, Russell Cooksey, would be more than happy to cancel my reservation, which he stated a few times as he hovered over the computer menacingly. It’s not good business to try and intimidate your customers for the sake of winning a dispute. I’ll tell you what this guy didn’t win: Manager of the year for best customer service. Exasperated, I resigned to reschedule my moving crew and drive all the way to Pooler, but I guarantee I will never do business with them again.
