We came here on a Friday night around 9pm and only tried the hookah. The place was almost empty, the hookah was disappointing, but our server was nice. We won’t be returning.

I came in on a Friday night with about 12 other people and the place was almost empty. We sat down and the place had no AC running so it was hot and there was music playing. We asked them to turn on some music and they finally did but after we ordered our hookah and drinks we waited for 45 minutes and didn’t get anything! It doesn’t take that look to get that stuff ready. When we asked the manager what was going on he automatically got on the defense and said we didn’t put in a reservation so we basically had no right to complain even though there were only 2 other tables occupied. If anything they should be happy they got business from us. The hookah was ok once we got it but the drinks sucked.

We stopped in here for dinner on a lark. I’m a bit confused as our receipt has the name CASBAH at a different address. Five stars for the food – delish chicken w/apricots and scallops case. The sides were tasty as well and the fresh veggies were well prepared. Less stars for the weirdness of the place. Only one other table with diners; All of a sudden, middle eastern music BLARES out of speakers and young woman starts belly dancing(she did not communicate happiness about being there and doing the dancing). A.W.K.W.A.R?D. Then when we get the check, the name of the restaurant was something other than Mirage. Kinda shabby, dated interior and no one patronizing the place on a busy foot traffic street. Very weird and uncomfortable.

I came here to eat and smoke some hookah afterward. First, let me start off with the positives. The service was friendly and our waitress kept our drinks full. The belly dancer was cute and she moved very well. The owner was friendly. What are the negatives. First off, the tables and chairs are too low. I am six feet tall and I had to cross my legs in order to get my knees under the table. My dining experience was very uncomfortable. I think the owner needs to understand that people want to be comfortable when they eat. Get some tables where people like me do not have to sit Indian style in order to eat. That should be common sense. Next, the food was subpar. I had the chicken kabob entrée. The meat was too rough and, quite frankly, nasty. The rice, as other people have stated, was good. Unfortunately, it was not enough to save the entire entrée. It said on the menu that the dish came with vegetables, which the cook decides on. I got potatoes and carrots. There were no onions or bell peppers. What a joke. For my date to eat and smoke hookah, it cost me about $ 67.00 without tip. I don’t mind paying that if the food was good. I have to say, the food is not worth it at that price. I felt like I got a bad deal. I will tell people this right now. I am getting fed up with Savannah. A lot of these places are just overpriced for the food they serve. Pooler has just as much diversity in their restaurants and they are about half the cost. Honestly, from now on, aside from going to a certain Indian restaurant, there is no reason for me to go to Savannah ever.

Awesome hangour. Great good, hoolkah and bellydancer!!! Food is very good and the staff is very accommodating. Highly recommend! If you like lamb, hummus, pita. I have truly enjoyed my multiple visits to this fine establishment Even when it is closing time, the owner has allows me to enjoy hookah and food. Great location!!!

I don’t understand all the bad reviews for this place! The service was quick and more or less friendly. Keep in mind, I’ve NEVER been to a hookah bar/Persian restaurant where the waiters were wildly talkative or welcoming, they are there to work and help. I went in knowing what I wanted(gyro) and have a good idea of hookah flavours(can’t go wrong with double apple). While my table didn’t need much guiding, I noticed that the waiters were VERY helpful in explaining menu choices and yucked it up with regulars. Food, spectacular. My gyro was out of this world and that’s hard to accomplish with weird pounded lamb slices but they did it! Hookah flavour selection, pretty generic and geared towards the SCAD community(weird non-traditional flavours). Our waiter(s) left us alone for the most part except to change our charcoal. So, everyone needs to remove their panties from their cracks because this place is JUSTFINE.

I have been here several times, and though it seems they are a bit short handed, the food makes up for it! The chicken with the apricot is to die for and I can’t stress it enough. The owner? Is so friendly and he always makes us feel welcomed. I love going there for the food, the drinks and the hookah!

To bring in my fabulous 24th, I invited some friends to The Mirage for dinner. I ordered the Fruit de Mer and it was fab! It’s a hookah bar/Mediterranean restaurant that has a live belly dancer at night. The environment is so cute and a little sexy! If you’re looking for an intimate spot for date night, check this place out. It’s on the mid-pricy side with dishes ranging from $ 18 – 30, but who doesn’t want to splurge once in a while? Check it out Foodies. Thank me later.

As a hookah lounge, I found this to be a very safe, comfortable, and friendly place to enjoy some smoke and drink. We did not eat, so cannot comment on the food. The lights were up, the music was enjoyable Moroccan at a nice volume. The windows to the street were not blocked off with heavy curtains like some more shady lounges. If you want to enjoy a hookah in a friendly and inviting place, this is a great spot.

My bf and I are not hookah fans, at all. We stumbled across this place by chance on a Friday evening and were the first guests of the night. Our food was delicious, perfect portions, appropriate seasonings, just great. My drink was just okay, I’ve had better key lime pie martinis. The belly dancer was great, i wish I could move like her. I would come again on a slow, hookah-less day.

We stopped here on a whim on a Sunday night to smoke some hookah and get some Mediterranean food. I hadn’t smoked hookah since college and my wife never has, so we gave it a go. I’m not sure if it was the fact that hookah was still glorified in my college memory within my now-matured mind or if it truly was only whatever, but I was a little underwhelmed. Also, the menu was a bit confused and mish-moshed with all different types of cuisine with a little Mediterranean mixed in. We got a couple beers and the sampler plate with grape leaves, hummus, baba ganoush, pita — all the staples — and it was only okay, nothing really memorable. They also surprisingly had belly dancing entertainment on a Sunday night which was cool.

Well… I don’t know what else everyone is talking about. We came on a Monday night and it was really quiet, which was fine by us. Service was fine, everyone was friendly, food was really good. Dancing was okay if you’re into that sort of thing. The prices were in line with average restaurants in Savannah. This place is what Casbah was when I came 10 years ago.

Food has flavor, but is over spiced. Décor is gross, service sucks. They should’ve left it as just a hookah bar so I could’ve avoided it. It’s a shame because I really liked Casbah.

This place is ok. It is the only place to grab a hookah before 10pm. There is only one other place to get hookah and I hear they are way better but I go to bed early. The owner/manager guy is rude to his employees in front of customers. For some reason if you come alone they will sit you in a far back corner. They have done this to me three times already. This time my glass table top was broken and I was sitting next to a pile of mysterious fabric ?? I wonder if this is their storage corner? The waitresses are nice but it’s just an overall ok place. Nothing glamorous.

For a Mediterranean restaurant there really weren’t any standout dishes. Some Med sides but the entrees are mostly fusion foods and there isn’t a great selection. I do not see chicken parmesan as a Med dish. There were some traditional med fares about the it was ok. The food was a bit overpriced compared to what we actually got. They have a belly dance, since we were the only ones in the place she stayed by us mostly and the kids with us danced with her a little. The service was ok. Overall, nothing to rave about, but priced as if it were. We were sort of disappointed.

Wasn’t too thrilled with the ambiance. Hookah tasted weak/horrible. Speaking of hookah… only ten flavors! What’s that about? Owner seemed stand-offish but our server Candice was pretty cool. She even admitted that she was new. Probably might come back… but we’ll see.

The place has a lot of promise to it. However tonight was not one of those nights. The service was good my waitress was friendly. What was completely ridiculous was how the«owner» treated his staff. I have never witnessed such disrespect for an employee. The man simply was yelling at this poor girl in the middle of the restaurant. It was quite to distracting to the quite dark atmosphere they are trying to have. I felt so bad for the waitress that I mentioned it to my waitress, she said that they owners are very rude and disrespectful especially when they are angry. I tried to enjoy my hookah but it was overpriced and it seemed that water hadn’t been changed — disgusting. I expected more from people that actually come from a country where shisha is a huge staple. I ordered a second coal and they charged me 2 dollars for it… an entire package of those coals cost 2 dollars and in every other hookah bar I’ve been to it was included with the price of the hookah. One hookah, one tea, one coal, tip, all cost $ 25.00. Seems super expensive for the lack of quality I received. This was my second time going to the Mirage and there will not be a third. Overall reason is how the owner was treating his staff. Uncool to be so disrespectful to the help. Waste of time and money — ridiculous.

3 star is generous, given because food was pretty good. We went with high hopes thinking this was the Casbah Restaurant, only to find Casbah and Mirage have been combined into one place. Very disappointed to say the least. Not expecting Hookah pipes and basically a bar that has a dozen tables for seating customers who come to eat dinner. Food was served quickly, almost too much so. We had just completed about ½ the appetizer when the entrée was served. We shared a sampler appetizer which was good, nice variety. I ordered a combination of kabobs meats, again pretty good, nothing special. My wife had a veggie platter she liked very much. The bottom line is that we felt as though when we called to make reservation, we should have known we were NOT eating at the restaurant we thought we had selected, but it wasn’t until we asked the waiter did we find out we were not getting what we thought we were getting. The atmosphere was severely lacking and we will not be returning in the future.

Bad start as I entered the lounge. A young lady behind the bar continued a conversation with an obvious friend. This is not an impression that you give your guests’ as they enter your establishment. Customer service first is a must unless the customer is a complete a** and in this case I was not. On another note I do like the atmosphere. Bar seating as well as traditional seating. You definitely feel like you aren’t in Savannah anymore. The music aids in this feeling. I will not raise my two star rating until I return.

We went in here with a lot of hopes. Unfortunately, our entire experience here was less than average. We started off with two appetizers for the table and ordered entrees. When we were done with the pita bread, we asked for more. We never got more bread. We reminded our server when she brought our entrees, still she never brought the pita and we had hummus and baba ganouj just sitting there with nothing to eat it with. For my entrée I had ordered shawarma wrap. What came out on my plate were 4 little triangular puffs with spinach in them. I kept trying to catch the attention of our server, but she never noticed me. I also waved over to what seemed like the owner of the place but he never attended to us either. Finally I decided to get up and go talk to our server at the counter. When I told her I got the wrong thing, she looked at me like it was my fault. I told her what I ordered and what I got and she said«I just got you what you ordered.» So I asked her if their shawarma wrap looked like 4 little puffs with spinach in them. She said she didn’t know what their shawarma looked like. Really? You work at a restaurant and you don’t know what the items on your menu look like? She called the owner and he told me he would fix my dinner right, but by then everyone from my party had already finished their meals and I wasn’t interested any more. The only thing good we had here was their Moroccan Mint tea, but I don’t give any credit to the restaurant for just boiling water to steep that. Sorry, we’ll never be back and I’ll never recommend this place to anyone either. Also, the music was aggravating. I think it started getting to me when owing to the music I failed to get the attention of any of the servers.
