Hands down the worst place! We planned a surprise birthday party for my mom-in-law 4 months in advance. The day we were supposed to arrive the hotel calls us and cancels our reservations not only once but twice. The cooperation was horrible to deal with and ruined the surprise of the entire weekend! Don’t stay there! They are rude on the cooperate end and the actually hotel itself! They took our money and double booked our room! Absolutely the worst! Save yourself the time and energy and stay at the Marriott!

beware of hidden fees and poor customer service! After a non sleep night due to noisy AC fan cycling on all night, I checked out next AM. Only then did front desk point out 75 $ early departure fee. No mention during direct call to hotel for reservation or on email confirmation or at check in(except for small print on sign in) Asked for consideration due to circumstances, no one bothered to respond so when they posted I called back, got the same poor attitude from Gen Mgr as others have mentioned Disputing w CCard, IHG, and posting negatives everywhere to warn people. Read reviews, if your nice they love you, if not your a liar. As an addendum, Staybridge just sent me an email indicating that this exact same review was refused for posting on their website because it was inappropriate or inconsequential. Once again this hotel doesn’t like the type of press which is truthful

I HAVENEVERPOSTED A COMPLAINTBEFORE — My corporate travel agent accidentally booked me a same-day non-cancelable reservation at this hotel. My intention was to stay at the Downtown Savannah Staybridge Suites. We caught the mistake in 5 minutes. When the travel agent called the hotel back and spoke to the manager, he said they would not refund my money. I thought this is nuts, it has only been five minutes, so then I called the general manager. He said ‘rules are rules’ and he would not refund my money. I told him I was a Platinum IHG member and that our entire company uses IHG. Mr. Hospitality said, «I just checked our records and you have never stayed here’(so much for the«We appreciate your being a Platinum member» that I get every time I check in). Mr. Hospitality suggested I call Corporate Relations and complain, which I did. They put me on hold and called, you guessed it, Mr. Hospitality, the GM at the hotel! Mr. Hospitality once again said NO Refund. I called the hotel at 6PM, and they were sold out for the night. That means my inadvertent reservation which was cancelled but not refunded, cost them nothing! I told Mr. Hospitality that I would post to Google, Unilocal, etc. and he said ‘Fine’. So I am going to give the GM of this hotel $ 120 of bad publicity. BTW — our Travel Agent said it is common practice for a hotel to refund a mistaken reservation if it is cancelled in a reasonable period of time. This is obviously a franchisee and he doesn’t give a damn about your status or their rewards program. He just wants your money. Somebody needs to remind this clown that he works in the HOSPITALITYINDUSTRY.

Planned to stay over in Georgia on our way to Disney with our grandson. Had to stop earlier than planned due to his fussing. Stopped at 2 other hotels only to discover they were booked. Feared we would have to drive on, when we decided to check the other of the interstate. I spotted the familiar Staybridge sign. Luckily they had available rooms and the check in took only 5 minutes. First floor room right near the front desk. Spacious, clean & quiet. I never heard any noise or voices the rest of the night. One slight problem, but it did not bother me enough to call the front desk, room was kind of warm. Kept the air condition on all night. While it did get a little cooler, it just never got cool enough to turn it off. They did have a very nice breakfast. Easy checkout. I would have no problem staying here again.

Not bad. I stayed here with my 3 dogs. Nice friendly front desk. The breakfast was good. The room was small. Easy to find location.

I stayed here for the month of March while attending a course near Savannah Airport. As far as location goes, it was very convenient to the airport, I-95, food and downtown was maybe 15 – 20 minutes in the car away. The service desk people were very nice, always greeted me when I came in, etc and the breakfast was good. They have a happy hour Tues-Thurs with free snackage and beer but I only went a few times since it seemed to be a bunch of dudes staring around and nobody was really talking. The few times I did go, I simply grabbed some food and a beer and took it up to my room. Once again, this was free so I applaud the effort even if the results were a little creepy. Now for the down and dirty, the problem was that the room was dirty. When I checked in, my coffee pot was filled with mold. I’m not a coffee drinker so I figured I would do an experiment to see how long it would go before housecleaning would discover it.(For long term guests, they do daily touchups and a once a week deep cleaning according to the placard in the room.) When I checked out a month later, the mold was even worse. The shower curtain had a similar story. Black spots all over the thing, it started to smell horrible so I pulled it out to make it obvious, took a picture and was going to give it to management if not changed. The curtain was changed when I got back that night, but the coffee pot never even got a rinse. Luckily, the mixture of Savannah heat and a wall mounted AC unit kept me cool enough to be able to avoid the comforter, which was also stained. All in all, it’s not a place that I would ever really stay on my own, but I was traveling on business and just needed a place to crash for a month. Finding a last minute hotel with opening through St. Pat’s in Savannah is a feat of it’s own. If it were taken care of a little better, it would actually be pretty nice. However, I’ve spent a lot of time in hotels and with a dozen others within a ¼ mile, one would think they might be a little more competitive.

I stayed here on business for six months in 2010 and it was amazing. I would definitely go back and recommend this place to anyone. They have a social hour with a very cozy lobby — complete with roaring fireplace. They offer a free breakfast every day and free light dinner M-Th. They have excellent Wi-Fi that I had no problem accessing in my room. The location is quiet and safe, about 10 – 20 minutes from downtown Savannah. The average taxi cost was about $ 15 to the waterfront. The rooms are nice and equipped, and the beds are comfortable. The staff is outstanding and very accommodating, including housekeeping and whoever that wonderful woman is that makes the dinners and breakfasts. They all made my stay extremely memorable. I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel.
