Loved this place! We took the kids out for dinner because they wanted Chinese and we wanted Hibachi, so it was the perfect combination. So much to choose from with all of the Chinese dishes, the seafood, and the Hibachi do-it-yourself sort of grill. There were a ton of desserts, ice cream, fruit, a salad bar, and even pizza and French fries for those picky eaters who refuse to believe there are other food groups outside of pizza and fries. LOL! Great services, friendly people, and the four of us ate for $ 40. Very affordable and highly recommended.

I personally love this place. I leave with a belly full of sushi every time! Try the Ak-47 roll it’s my favorite, nice and spicy.

OK, so fair’s fair… after researching restaurants for a trip to Savannah, I found the Hibachi Grill on a deal-a-day website. I always look at reviews before I try a new restaurant, and found the Hibachi Grill was closed down due to bad health inspections, and I shared that fact here on Unilocal. However, another news story said the HG re-opened with a health inspection score of 96. That, and with the lure of the online discount certificate I found, I decided to give the place a try. It was pretty good as far as buffets go, hundreds of choices, and something for everyone… well worth the price. My wife was less impressed, but she doesn’t like buffets much anyway, unless it’s Paula Deen’s. Our 2 year old ate all that was put in front of him. I would say this place is now A-OK…I’m sure they know they are being watched like a hawk, so I wouldn’t worry about any more bad inspections.

After Hibachi Grill was shut down briefly for health code violations, I waited a few weeks to go check it out. But once I did, I was really, really impressed. I started off with a plate consisting of roughly 15 pieces of various types of sushi, along with a bowl of shrimp sauce and a bowl of soy sauce. I wasn’t expecting much from buffet-style sushi, but everything tasted great. Once that plate was devoured, I went with a heaping plate of Chinese buffet staples… some fried rice, egg foo young, crab rangoon, egg rolls… you name it. I also grabbed some chicken and shrimp from the actual hibachi portion of the restaurant. All of this stuff was good as well, but not mind-blowingly good. Just«yeah, that’s pretty much like every other Asian buffet» good. Had this place offered teriyaki chicken or shrimp that compared to actual Japanese restaurants, you’d be reading a five-star review right now. For a finale, I went back for more sushi, loading up another plate with some 20 or so pieces. The final verdict? The selection here is great, with items ranging from good to really good and the price is simply unbeatable. Had I eaten that much sushi at a place like Sushi Zen or Sakura, it would’ve cost me $ 60. Here, it was $ 8.99. I’ll definitely be back.

DON’T GO!!! UNLESSYOUWANTTOFINDSOMETHINGINYOURFOOD! My husband and I have been here before with a large group and we were satisfied with the food and service. So we went again for dinner even after hearing they failed their health inspection. My first trip to the bars I grabbed some sushi, grilled items and the clams. After I sat down and ate some of the clams, I found a curly piece of hair in it. And when I say curly, you all know what I am talking about, it’s hair from down there. My husband just laughed because we had just talked about how they had failed their health inspection. Talk about irony… I about gagged and flagged a waiter down. He seemed to not able to respond so he said he will be right back. About 10 minutes later one of the Asian hostesses came over. I told her I found a hair and showed her. Wanna guess what she said? She had the gall to say things like this are going to happen because it’s a buffet environment. WTF?! I’m from Vegas and know buffets and how clean they can be. It’s not rocket science. Besides that I just couldn’t get images out of my head of someone scratching something and then handling food. The nice hostess took my plate, said sorry and walked away. My second and last trip I scrutinized everything before I placed it on my plate. And the best part, we still had to pay full price for the meal and all we got was a lame excuse and not a meaningful apology. I rarely find unwanted things in my food and have been compensated each time. It’s common courtesy. I will not go here again nor recommend it. And I will be sending a wonderful letter to the health department about this.

Better(newer/cleaner) version of the same old crappy AmerAsian buffet. Let’s face it, in order to offer a 150 item buffet for less than $ 8 the quality of food is going to be pretty poor. Lots and lots of processed, high fat, high salt, and high sugar ingredients with a healthy dose of MSG to open this pores. That being said, this is the best buffet of its sort in the Savannah area. Easily the best selection of «sushi» and other fresh ingredients than the competitors.

I went here two days in a row for lunch, and it’s so worth the $ 6.99 for lunch. Nothing beats it in town. The beef ribs are too die for. They are the best in town. Service is definitely not the best. The waiters/waitresses need to come around more often to see if you need a plate picked up, or your water needs to be picked up, etc,. But, besides for that, I’d definitely go their again.

Just went to the newly opened Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet and I have to say I was impressed right off! This is a more elegant looking place than most other buffets, and really big! Lovely rock garden with running water up by the door(good feng shui!), huge gold and crystal chandelier over the buffet area, dark carved wood separating the rooms, good flow, square columns with Chinese style paintings bordered in gold – pleasant atmosphere right when you walk in. First thing is, if you like sushi, this is definitely the place to go! A wide variety of fresh-tasting attractive sushi on the bar was a big attraction for me. Good fruit bar – with fresh mango yet and huge purple grapes; good sized dessert bar with light cakes, jello, cookies, mini-cupcakes, strawberry turnovers and the like – no ice-cream that I noticed, but you don’t really miss it. There are over 150 items on the buffet, so you have a good selection. The hibachi grill is where you pick which meats and vegies you want and the chef(who happened to be Mexican this evening, which was a little odd) will stir-fry them right up for you – at no extra charge. The place is billed as a Chinese-Japanese-American buffet, and it is the perfect place to go if you like Chinese/Asian food and your partner doesn’t – why? Because there is PLENTY of American food to choose from: fried chicken, rib-eye steak, beef ribs, sausages, roast beef, sliced ham, mac & cheese, stuffed potatoes, steak & cheese pie(filling is stuffed in a phyllo pastry shell), corn on the cob and lots more – everybody has a choice here! Of course there are the usual Chinese dishes – and this is my only complaint – but I would like to have seen more Chinese dishes, some steamed dumplings and bread and so on – of course, with American style Chinese buffets you almost never see the covered steamers full of dumplings, I’m guess because Americans like to see their food sitting our in plain sight – but the dumplings get all dried out that way. There was also Wonton, egg drop soup, etc. as well. One of the nice things about his place is there is only ONE price – no second price if you want crab legs, which they do not carry anyway. They DO have real blue crab(lighly fried), good mussels, and clams! which were a tasty treat, as well as boiled and fried shrimp, fried fish and salmon. All in all, it was a good dining experience, with pleasant staff, lovely restaurant, clean well-kept buffet offering lots of choices. They have 3 large«private party» rooms, and a BIG dining room, so if you want them for a party or celebration you have plenty of choices. We also used our coupons and got two dollars off the meal, which made it $ 20 + tax and tip — -not bad at all!
