Good Service, I only tried the pull pork so I don’t feel I tried enough food to post a full review but the food was tastey for what I had.

We ate there last night, and the food was very good. The service very good. It was very odd though that the coffee machine was broken, and when we asked for tea, the water arrived just lukewarm, and there was no milk in the house. So, the food was good, the ribs excellent. The brisket way too dry and tough. The sauces were good. Where was the hot sauce? A little inconsistent, but the servers there were GREAT, friendly, and my wife and I will be going back for more BBQ soon. Get that coffee machine fixed! Put a carton of milk in the fridge. Serve the tea water HOT!

I had the burnt end BBQ sandwich on buttered toast with cole slaw. It was great. Loved the taste. I put the original sauce on half and the sweet on the other half. Then I put slaw on the whole sandwich. Fantastic!!! My server was polite, friendly, and kept my glass full. When it was time for my check, she had it on the table before I asked. She was paying attention even though her area was busy. Then she topped things off with a to-go cup. Really great on a hot day like today. I’ll be back soon.

In Savannah, hotel clerk sends us to Shanes… right next door I smell smoke. No way I’m going to a chain when this place smells right! I had to try fried pickles because they sound so odd. They were great! We had the pulled pork, great smoke flavor, shredded in big chunks. A little dry, but so flavorful I didn’t care. Licked the plate. Go here, you won’t be sorry.

Sadly I was not impressed. The service was great but the food was forgettable. I am from Seattle and I enjoy the BBQ joint down the street from my house better. Maybe it was the bbq sauce that made my experience sour? It was not tasty. My pulled pork was depressingly dry. The ribs were tasty but I regretfully put the bbq sauce on them immediately. My baked beans were good, my favorite thing there. They have meat in the sauce so beware vegetarians. The sweet potato fries have sugar sprinkled on top which was a nice touch. My dad’s shrimp were yummy minus the fact that you could tell that they were previously frozen. My mom liked the coleslaw because it was made with oil instead of mayo. Sorry but I am not going back. I liked my server and the paper towel roll on the table. My lease favorite thing was the creepy feral kitties outside. We fed them our leftover pulled pork– we didn’t want it…

My husband and I tried this restaurant out for the first time last night and immediately fell in love! Everyone was very friendly, including the other customers, and the food was absolutely phenomenal! My husband didn’t have much of an appetite, so he just had the chicken tenders and fries. Of course, I took a bite of one of his tenders. They were seasoned perfectly! I had the marble ribs with sweet potato fries and green beans. Those ribs were to die for! OMG! Fall off the bone… smoked flavor. Yum! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Matt, and he was so friendly and entertaining. He was actually eating when we arrived. I sat next to him at the bar, and he gave me a piece of his ribeye steak right off of his plate! Now that’s southern hospitality at it’s finest. LOL! It was sooo tender and seasoned to perfection. I was immediately sold. However, I’d had my heart set on ribs for a couple of days, so I had to get my fix. Everyone has to try this place! If you’re a fan of great barbecue, try them out! I promise you won’t be disappointed! We will definitely be back!

FOOD: Mediocre. It was cold and looked like deli meet. Asked for something else but didn’t a fresh side when it was replaced. SERVICE: Poor. It took the waitress at least 15min to even come back and ask us how our food was. Then it took her 5 – 10 to ask again when the new order was brought out after the first one sucked. She also didn’t bother to ask what was wrong with it. Won’t be coming back.

Went there for dinner with my hubby a couple of weeks ago, he wanted ribs that night and wanted to try somewhere new. First thing, the selection of sauces are all pretty dull – watery, sweet, no intensity – I was not impressed. Barbecue was dry, shredded and saturated with sauce – I just couldn’t eat it. The ribs were OK, smoky, fairly tender, and the sweet potato fries were great. I’ve had better ribs though at Sticky Fingers, MUCH better, or Johnny Harris. Slaw was unexceptional and not so crisp. Service was so-so, though the waitress was nice. It was an experiment – didn’t fail exactly, but just not some place I’d go again.

I stopped in here for quick lunch, I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries w/sweet tea. The sandwich was pretty good, but a little dry. I threw some of the sweet bbq sauce on there but it didn’t help out too much. There are lots of good bbq joints in Sav but this place is definitely worth a try. It is convenient for lunch close to the Eisenhower DMV.

The smoke station is a pretty damn good BBQ joint. The ribs are tender, moist, and have just enough pull. I have had their pulled pork sandwich, and thats really good too. All in all I would rank this place just a tiny notch below Wiley’s Championship BBQ. To even be in comparison to Wiley’s is a huge compliment by the way. If you live up-town, or in the neighborhood, check this place out… the food is great

Ok, the BBQ here is good and so was the service. I don’t care too much for the sauce. I found that mixing the hot and sweet made a pretty good combination. The original sauce just didn’t do anything for me. I went with the sweet potato fries, and was happy that they know how to cook them(I wish I could make them like this at home). It’s a nice change from the regular fries. I’ll probably eat here again, since I’d like to try some of the other items on the menu(brunswick stew, mmmmmmm)
