Thanks to Jonathan our evening perked up, but after being told by the red headed hostess that the wait for a table of 3 was 40 minutes we moved to the bar. Jonathan took care of us while we waited, and waited and waited! After an hour and 20 minutes I approached said redhead and asked how much longer we would have to wait. She responded with, «you are next for a table»!! A nice corner booth opened up which had our name all over it but instead the redhead moved another table of 3(who were already at a table) to the booth that was meant for us! I’ve worked in the restaurant business for years and I know that what she did was rude and not acceptable. We stayed at the bar and were further taken care of by Jonathan. Thankfully! Hopefully on our next visit to chive, we won’t have to encounter the ever so unfriendly hostess you have working there!

Wasn’t greeted upon entering. Sat for 10 minutes before someone took our drink order. Sat another 10 still no drinks. Server informed us that they weren’t serving the open faced prosciutto on the lunch menu –although all the ingredients were present in other items. Puzzling. 30 minutes we left. Never received drinks.

Ordered a mojito that cost $ 11 and tasted like a $ 2 Long Island. Bar tender was slow and doesn’t know how to make a good drink. At least the ambiance was pleasant. I’m never going back.

Definitely loved this place and if I lived in Savannah I could definitely see this place as my go to spot. My husband and I stopped in to have a drink and appetizer after dinner. Yes, I said dinner – I like to eat! Very low key, intimate, and sexy! I loved the décor but the lobster egg rolls were even better!

This place is delightful. Yes, the craft cocktails are fabulous — try the Red Clover. And the appetizers we made a light dinner of were tasty — the carpaccio with an Asian styling layered on seaweed salad was the standout. But all the other pleces that make up a restaurant experience are also in place. Service is pleasant and not overbearing. The walls are padded and draped so that conversation is easy. Even the background of carefully selected vintage swing music is perfect and not twee. A really well thought out place all around.

Came to this very swanky little seafood bar and lounge in downtown Savannah for lunch one day with a group of people. The décor of the restaurant is very nice, modern, and clean. The staff was friendly. The food was quite good — everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes. I did think the dishes were a little on the small side though. I had the crab soup. I thought it was good, about average on the meat, but the cup as a whole was a little smaller than I was expecting. Well, would I come back here? If I was looking for a smallish meal and I happened to be in Savannah, I would certainly come back. It is conveniently located with good food.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. I went there for lunch and everything about this place was amazing. The décor and music playing was lovely. The service was fast and the waiter was extremely knowledgable and very pleasing. The food was incredible. The portions were very generous for lunch. The prices were incredibly reasonable for the amount and quality of food you received. They blend some odd foods together but don’t let that scare you away because it all tastes better then anything I had eaten before. I would definitely return to this restaurant multiple times.

I LOVE this restaurant! The first time we went, our waiter told us that the tuna selection was very good that night. He was right! We ordered the Sashimi & I highly recommend the Tuna Ceviche! It’s quite unique in how they prepare it & it tastes so good The Flounder & Crab dish is one my favorite entrees as well as the Chilean Sea Bass. We have also had the Lobster & Shrimp roll, She Crab soup & the Fried Calamari. And you have to order the Crème Brûlée cheesecake! Overall, it’s a great, swanky atmosphere & depending on the night, the restaurant will turn into a bar featuring live music. Chive is owned by the same people who own Fire Street Food, The King & I, Tangerine Fusion, and Flying Monk Noodle Bar. Great, upscale place to meet with friends, family and/or business clients!

Had dinner here for a double date. They seated us toward the back and away from the windows which I enjoyed since set a romance feel and made us feel like we didn’t have a audience. I had the mussels as my app which is gluten free(yay) and was served in a yummy curry and coconut milk with tomatoes and shared the raw 12pc oysters with my date which were good as well. I don’t remember what kind they were I just remember telling them I didn’t want to be eating salt water. For dinner I had their seared sea scallops with veggies. They did edited my dish and make it without soy sauce so it was gluten free friendly and it still tastes great! The wait staff were super helpful and I loved how they went out of their way to correspond with the kitchen on how things were made to make sure I could eat it. They had a nice selection of speciality drinks but I stuck with white wine. My date had the stuffed sea bass with mushroom risotto from what I could see he really enjoyed it and my girlfriend had the stuffed lobster. I will be going back!

We came here forth of July at 9pm. We decided to sit at the bar. Stephanie and Jonathan were fantastic. Drinks were good, service was great, and the food was on point to our bartender’s recommendation. Very pleased. Ambiance was on point, the food reflected the same quality.

Rating this a 4, but if our server showed even a little interest in us it would’ve been 5. Didn’t know what to expect, but we like trying new places on vacation and the food did not disappoint. We walked in and immediately felt under dressed. It’s a very nice place. Clean, great design. The graphic designer in me loved the menu, the descriptions on some things were just a little vague. My wife and I got there around 630, and were seated immediately by a very friendly host. However our appearance must’ve sent the wrong message because the server did seem to do the bare minimum for us and had almost zero interaction besides taking our order. We ordered the beef carpaccio appetizer, which was phenomenal. Probably the best I’ve ever had. I had Chilean sea bass over the spinach and tomato orzo. It was presented beautifully and tasted as good. My wife had the stuffed sea bass and really enjoyed hers as well. Good experience, we’ll go back for sure.

My family and I had such a great time here. We were looking for some really good seafood and this place kind of had a cool twist on each dish so we decided to check it out. the calamari was nice and plump and not overloaded with breading. my dad got the prawn risotto, and the prawns were huge. He loved it and he’s not easily impressed. my mother also loved her tuna entrée. I only got a salad but it was the best I’ve ever had haha mango, strawberries, grapes, avocado and walnuts. yum. desserts were great as well. Décor of the restaurant was very modern and unique also. loved that they had pillows on the booths. Our server, Dave, was excellent. he was very excited to tell us all about the dishes and told us his favorites as well. I would definitely like to visit this place again

Seriously the most fantastic place I’ve eaten in the south… The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, service was fantastic, drinks were on point. I could not have asked for a better experience! I ordered the red snapper risotto with the recommended wine pairing, and it was outstanding. My husband got the scallops and she crab soup, which was delicious… Dessert was the crème brûlée vanilla bean cheesecake, which was ridiculously good!

This place is simply amazing. The décor is glam and very Great Gatsby feeling. Plush seating with awesome patterns. The lighting and fixtures are breathtaking. The specialty drink and wine menu is extensive and tasty. I had the Bohemian, fresh and satisfying(see pic). We ordered the shrimp and lobster roll as an app, fried to perfection and the sauce it served with compliments it well. Ordered off the lunch menu, we ordered: snapper with risotto, ahi tuna salad, and the crispy chicken. EVERYTHING was fresh, presented amazing, colorful, and just delicious. We will be returning. If I were a restaurant, I’d be this one– classy, comfortable, and tasteful!

We wanted to eat at Alligator Soul on the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day but it was no surprise they were booked. We passed Chive along the way and I knew right away this place would be our backup plan. Classy looking joint. We sat at the bar where our bartender Jonathan was on the money all night. Funny, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. We started with the cutting board as an appetizer. The cheese was great, especially the bleu cheese, but for $ 15, some cured meat would have been a nice addition. Prosciutto or something? For dinner, we shared the lamb chop($ 29) and the small portion of the ocean’s five($ 16). The temperature on the lamb was spot on at medium rare and the red curry sauce only added to its already awesome flavor. The ocean’s five came with crab meat, scallops, mussels, shrimp and clams. The Gang Phet Talay broth was stunning and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Jonathan must have known I couldn’t let the broth go to waste because he offered me some bread to soak up what was left toward the end of our meals. Even the bread was delicious, but of course it came with some pesto sauce, which created a dipping dilemma. We got a bottle of J Lohr cab with dinner. Not a bad mark up at $ 40 considering the cheapest I can find it for retail is about $ 13. Overall, this is a great spot to eat. Definitely a romantic place to take a date or to celebrate a special occasion.

Had a late dinner at Chive on my trip to Savannah and was very impressed. Our server, Elizabeth, did a great job describing the menu and addressing my many questions. I ended up going with the scallop skewers and a side of risotto. My dining companion went with the steak skewers, risotto, and crab soup. We sampled each other’s dishes and loved everything we tried. Each dish was perfectly seasoned and prepared. The ambiance and service at Chive also take it to the next level for me. Elizabeth was a constant fixture at our cozy table. I loved the twenties vibe this spot embodies, it’s an intimate place to enjoy a dinner with friends and as far as I’m concerned a must visit in Savannah.

This is like the most beautiful restaurant I have ever been to! AND… the food was great! Love! !! Really this is like designer had full reins and went crazy, but so beautiful! lol! Now the food… we went for brunch and was so happy! I had the snapper risotto, my friend had the eggs benedict… both were just heaven! I think mine was better… the fish cooked perfect and the risotto also cooked perfect with veggies and cheese and cream cooked in to it, oh I just loved it! I also got a cup of coffe and it was french press and delish!
