Chatham County Aquatic Center

A very nice and generally clean facility. The pool and public area always seem to be kept up very nice but the bathrooms need quite a bit of updating. Just walk in feeling like you’ve acquired a foot fungus without even taking your shoes off yet. The showers are hit or miss on hot water and the pressure is a bit off as well.
I am not here for the bathroom though so i am a definite fan of the pool. Love that it is a straight 50m. The entire pool is 6′ plus which doesn’t allow you to set foot on the bottom and fully rest in between your sets but other than that i really like the place.
Only other drawback for me is that it is out by the mall. I live downtown in the historic district and don’t have a car and it is a 7.5mi bike ride one way. I understand that most people have cars here but does make it inconvenient for me. No direct bus either or anything close to making it convenient to get here by public transport. If i wanted to take CAT it would take at least an hour to get there and on my bike it is only 30mins so doesn’t make much sense for me.

This place is awesome. Has two pools. One is a 25 yard have fun and the other a 50 meter lap swimming pool. Has a swim shop, locker rooms with showers. The recreation pool is kept at 86 degrees year round and the other at 78 degrees.
