Decent spot for lunch. Mexican chicken soup was not the best I have had but the rest of our food was good. Nice lunch specials and good portions.

Food was great and well seasoned. Margarita was delicious and STRONG. I had the Magic Mushroom and my wife has the Enchiladas Screamer and the were able to customize it to make it vegetarian.

Great place for cheap tacos and strong margaritas. Taco Tuesdays is a fun night.

Was looking for a new Mexican restaurant because our old favorite had closed. It met all expectations, food, service, and price. I would recommend this place

Born and raised in Southern California, this place is a disgrace to the culture. If it wasn’t bad enough that my pretend rellano was cold and my waitress questioned me(bad move) she then returned it back to me and my plate looked as if it was a science experiment. I left immensely dissatisfied and disgusted. Some would say I should have known better in the south, decent any type of food is expected.

I placed an order through a local delivery service(my first at Carlitos) and the food arrived well before i thought it would! Pretty awesome right? Then I opened the bag, nowhere close to what I ordered. Delivery person had no clue, blamed the restaurant and she called her manager, who backtracked and guffawed all over herself then blamed the restaurant. I really don’t care who is at fault; i just want what i ordered and paid for, Carlito’s and are definitely not going to get my business again.

We went to Carlito’s accidentally on a Taco Tuesday. Not impressed with the chips and salsa. We ordered a sampling of tacos including potato tacos. I have had amazing Mexican meals with fried potatoes and imagined it would be that. Instead I got a taco with a big glob of mashed potatoes inside. What? Bizarre, not Mexican, and very disgusting. The rest of the food was edible. I would skip this place if you are looking for tasty Mexican food. Stick around if you want cheap and edible.

Went to Carlitos for the first time tonight. Thought«taco Tuesday» would be the thing to do. Overall– good experience. The bartender, Jessica(?) was very friendly and helpful in making dinner recommendations. My wife got the carne asada tacos(Mexican style, aka cilantro and onions) while I ordered the fish tacos(American style, aka lettuce cheese and tomatos). We both agreed the fish tacos were the better choice. Tecate cans were 2 $, which is way cheaper than one would typically pay(no Tecate light though– which is in my opinion WAY better). Beans and rice were excellent. Chips and salsa were mediocre, otherwise id have given 5 stars. Tacos were very authentic, hot, and fresh! Will definitely go again.

I had the taco plate which came which came with 3 tacos and rice and refried beans. I chose chorizo for my meat. There wasn’t much filling at all. The corn tortillas weren’t even half full. It was literally a tablespoon of ground chorizo with a sprinkle of cilantro and onion. The chorizo was very dry and there was a ton of oil that spilled out after biting into my taco. I ended up only eating 1. Boyfriend got a quesadilla with steak, chicken and shrimp. His dish had a ton of meat which he was happy about but it was smothered in queso. You would think there’s no such thing as too much queso but yes, there is. So we ended up eating a few bites and leaving. Overall we weren’t pleased with our meal and will not be back. Service not great either.

This is real Mexican cuisine. The food was amazing at a very reasonable price. Our margarita were huge!!! The kitchen manager even came out and made us our own salsa. Yummy.

Tasty tasty. We got out off here very inexpensively and it was good for the kids. It’s also good for larger groups.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we’re sure glad that they did! After arriving in Savannah from FL in the early evening, our family was looking for a good place to eat within walking distance. Carlito’s is a great Mexican restaurant, with plenty of the classic food choices and some unique ones. The salsa is homemade and amazing and the food is very authentic! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Savannah and looking for a great alternative to the tourist spots or a break from Southern food.

My first trip may have been a bit biased: Cinco de Mayo is the best time to visit a restaurant for margaritas. Even though that was why I initially came in, their awesome specials kept me there for lunch. The atmosphere was so fun and light-hearted. For $ 5, I got three tacos, and of course they had drink specials. By the end of lunch, I was singing show tunes with the wait staff. I don’t know if this is a good thing or not, but this place has a nice spot in my heart from now on.

Friendly place. Server was ok. Happy chatting with locals. That’s ok. We all had grilled chicken tacos and a pitcher of margaritas for 22. Bux Good deal! And 10 percent off.

Ok, so it has been a while since I have written a review and I apologise. I have some catching up to do so I figured that I would start with this place. Appearance: Well from the outside it looks big and somewhat fancy however once you get inside its a different story. Heck to be honest it was like I stepped out of savannah and straight into a restaurant that was actually south of the border. From the red patent leather looking seats to the bar and the ceiling. If you are looking for fancy don’t even bother coming here. If you are looking for some darn good Mexican food please enter. Food: O… m…G!!! Loved it. My Taco salad here actually came with beans in it(you can choose refried or black beans). I have not had refried beans in my taco salad in YEARS! Every other place I have gone to leave the beans out and I hate it! I thinki paid like $ 7 for it and the size of the salad was pretty decent. I also ordered some taco carne asada tacos made the proper way. Beef-Cilantro-onions and a squeeze of lime(you have to request the limes). These tacos took me back to san diego taco cart tacos. Definatrely not stingy with the steak either, these things were packed. Last but not least, everyone who visits a mexican restaurant knows that you are really there filling up on the salsa and chips. The salsa here is amazing for the mere fact that it has a little spice but not to much. Instead ot tasting like some diced up tomatoes in water, it actually tastes like salsa! In all I would say that YES I would go back. It is not the prettiest place, but then again i dont care as long as the food makes you want to dance.

I was here for the Crawl of the south yesterday — we intended to just grab our dollar beers but we were starting to feel the alcohol, so we decided to get a tiny bit of food into our stomachs. We sat at the bar and the service was great, considering there were a ton of rowdy drunk people there. We get the empanadas which were okay, the ground beef nachos which were meh(literally just beef and cheese on some chips), but the Mexican sweet corn was deeeeelicious. Would definitely recommend. Also, service was excellent which is why I gave this place 4 stars.
