I had the pleasure of stumbling upon Belford’s after just arriving into Savannah. My colleague and I split the fried green tomatoes and we both had the crab cakes for lunch. Being from the northeast, I’ve tried many crab cakes from Maryland, none of which compare to the crab cake’s from Belford’s. The fried green tomatoes were covered in a spicy remoulade and the crab cakes came with green beans and fries as well as a spicy/sweet jam. The location was great as well. Upscale atmosphere, southern charm, and delicious food.

Service wasn’t that great, waiter was very inattentive and rude. Asked if we wanted coffee refills, took forever to come back(the carafe was less than 10ft away). My wife finally had to get it for us. Just as soon as she sat back down the waiter magically appeared. Crab Benedict was good, but eggs were overlooked, probably intentionally. Waiter also took plate away before I was finished, didn’t even bother to ask. If you get a server who calls you«friend» and has tattoos all over his knuckles ask for someone else. This guy went out of his way to be rude, insulting, and inconsiderate.

Manager was rude, hostess was unknowledgeable. Convention center catering quality potatoes and outback quality steak. Would not recommend for the price.

Best lemonade ever. Also, delicious starters. We had a stacked BLT with goat cheese and fried green tomatoes. Mmmmmm.

It’s really HIT or MISS with this place. This restaurant is highly overrated. I would not recommend this to anyone. A 4th grader can be taught to make mashed potatoes, with real butter, milk, salt, and black pepper, and they will come out delicious every time. Yet apparently this $$$ kitchen can’t serve fresh delicious mashed potatoes. Instead they served something dry, sort of stale, and with almost no taste. The NY Strip Steak($ 38) was ordered Medium +, but was served bloody Rare. When I returned it for more cooking it came back overcooked and tasteless. I believe it also had MSG in it as flavor enhancer, because I could taste the saltiness and the next day I had a massive headache. I also tried their grits, and they weren’t buttery or smooth, instead they were so dry they were sort of flaking apart, and their flavor was even more disappointing.(By the way for amazing Grits go to Henry’s!) Unfortunately, I think Belford’s, which is in the heart of the tourist district, can rely on a steady flow of tourism, boosted by a stead stream of recommendations from area hotels, and thereby get away with so-so food at fine dining prices. We won’t be going back.

I’m a local. Over priced! Service was ok. The food was just blah. My wife ordered the crab linguine. The pasta was cold. The waitress was shocked we wanted to send it back. If you want great food go across the street on Congress and eat at Garibaldi’s. Fantastic

We had a work related team dinner here last week and the food and service was excellent. The appetizer sampler is perfect for big groups and their filet mignon was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is casual and it’s located in a great area in Savannah.

We stopped in here for a late lunch after walking through city market. We sat outside and enjoyed people watching. The wait staff was kind enough to move us to another table when the sun became too strong at our table. We got 2 Bloody Mary’s which were great. We split the kale salad and it was awesome! The calamari was lacking. It was supposed to have a Thai chili sauce but the sauce wasn’t very good and came with a small amount of sauce. The calamari had a lot if breaking on it as well. We got the crab cake dinner which was exactly the same as the crab cake appetizer but for $ 3 more it came with fries and garlic green beans(a better deal). The crab cake was delicious! Overall this was a fine place to go to for lunch and people watching. It was a little overpriced but we were right in the city market.

Dinner was awesome. Food was amazing. Beautiful outdoor patio. We had 2 big dogs with us who were not on their best behavior. The staff was sooooooo nice and they even brought out water for the dogs.

Our meal was expensive, but delicious indeed. The shrimp and grits, their signature dish, is wonderful. The salmon, too, is a winner. Our server, warm and helpful, was a sheer pleasure. Eating outside is a bonus, although the lovely tunes of the live performer a short distance away– at least during our meal– was drowned out by the pre-recorded jazz vocals of their sound system.

One of the best ribeyes Ive had. Service was amazing. Atmosphere was great. We had a 7:30 reservation, arrived at 7:10 and were promptly seated. Bianca was very friendly. The entire experience will have us returning when we return to Savannah.

Elegant restaurant with inside or outside dining on City Market. I visited Belford’s Savannah Seafood & Steaks during lunch. The service was quick and the food was delicious. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, Po’Boy(shrimp) sandwich with fries and coleslaw, Grilled Chicken club sandwiches with fries and the delicious shrimp, greens and grits. Somewhat pricey but worth it and the meals were very filling. If we return to Savannah again Belford’s will definitely be a place we will dine.

This is my second visit to this fantastic restaurant and I was not disappointed. I made reservations because it was Valentines weekend and I expected every restaurant in town to be busy. Last time we ate here, it was a week night, we just showed up and were able to be seated within a few minutes. We sat at the high tops so we can view the executive chef direct his team which adds a bit of entertainment to the dining experience. Watching him keep things moving was fascinating. The food is absolutely incredible. I have had the rack of lamb and my BF had the veal; both spectacular. The NY strip looked unbelievable and we saw at least 2 dozen going out to tables while we dined. We did not order any appetizers or salads because we didn’t want to fill up space that would be required for the entrée. The General Manager keeps a close eye on things while the executive chef guarantees your meal is presented exactly as he planned it. Every server was courteous and had an obvious sense of urgency for their guests. We stopped a few of them to find out what they were serving.(The crab cakes look phenomenal) each time they were happy to answer our questions before taking the meals to their tables. We would eat here every night if given the option. I cannot say enough good things about this place! You will not be disappointed.

Really enjoyed this place. Engaging environment and a nice varied menu. Started with the she crab soup — smooth and fresh crab! Probably could use more fish options, but the Scottish salmon was really good — excellent texture/flavor with a nice side of gouda mac n cheese and green beans(excuse me, haricots verts). Took advantage of the Unilocal free dessert and finished up with the bread pudding. Recommend all of the above.

Stopped in for a late lunch in City Market. Sat at the outside tables even though the temperature was around 50 degrees because we had Pepe Le Pew with us. The Bloody Mary’s were spot on with just enough spice to make you for go the cooler temperatures on the patio. The SHE crab soup and mussels were outstanding! Definitely would recommend either of these two items to anyone that enjoys seafood! Finished up the meal with some white chocolate bread pudding! Very good and a perfect way to wrap up a meal If you have the opportunity to have Byron as your server you will not be disappointed! Hands down probably the best service in all of Savannah! Will make Belford’s a regular dining stop on all future trips to Savannah!

Just stopped in here to kill time and have drinks before a reservation we’d made close by. We’ll be back. The atmosphere is really nice. the restaurant is very pretty and has 2 entrances making it accessible from 2 streets, which is convenient. From outside, the place looks packed. we had wanted to go in earlier but wanted not to fight crowds. later we went in and realized there’s plenty of space, but the areas by the doors tend to get more packed so it just seems that way. so go ahead in! The staff was great — extremely nice and friendly, and quick. The bar area was packed. a good spot for drinks. I do wish they had more appetizers — some good, easy to share, items to eat at the bar.

A local recommended Belfords to us, which must say a lot, so we went. It didn’t disappoint. It offered a nice variety of streak and seafood with an American and southern gourmet flare. We sat on the outside patio to enjoy the ambience, street scene and live music in the City Market. We started with beverages, me the Liquid Calm, which I could easily have gulped, and a pale ale draft for my ‘date’(my son). The food was delicious: we started with the fried green tomatoes — a must. They were fried to crispy perfection and the chipotle aioli sauce was amazing. The filet mignon was cooked just right and tender, served with buttery garlic mashed potatoes and delicious fresh haricots verts(string beans). I split a gut enjoying the shrimp, greens and grits — so delicious. The grits cake was creamy and smooth, shrimp cooked perfectly in a nice garlic sauce, greens-tender and smokey. This was coastal southern food at its finest! For dessert, we split the pumpkin cheesecake with a Jameson Irish Cream Cappuccino. Loved it too. Service was very good but our waiter was new and not very confident with the menu just yet. But still, he contributed to a great dinning experience.

I’m in love with Belford’s. Fine dining is a huge part of Savannah’s culture, so it’s not hard to find a nice place for date night, or even just to treat yourself. If you love seafood and amazingly cooked steaks, this is your place. I’ve been in for lunch on several occasions, but i just recently dined for dinner. I was in the mood for a nicely cooked steak, so I decided on Belford’s. I’m so glad I did. My server, Lewis, suggested a nice Cabernet to start. After that, I tried the She Crab soup. There are a lot of places that offer this soup in town, but this had to be the best I’ve had. It was the right temperature, creamy and delectable. There was also a nice helping of crab meat, so it’s definitely worth the dollar. Next, I had the fillet mignon. I love my steaks medium rare, and boy did they cook this one to perfection. Each bite was so lovely, I started taking smaller ones to savor each moment. It was paired with whipped garlic mashed potatoes and haricots vertes. You can option to add scallops, crab or shrimp on top. Just go for the splurge. The shrimp paired on top of this delicate steak was so succulent and delicious. I was full by this point, but couldn’t walk away from white chocolate bread pudding. It was so light and not too sweet, so you can enjoy every bite. It’s definitely a $$$ price point, but you really can’t beat a lovely cooked meal in such a beautiful atmosphere. Jazz music, good food and attentive servers. Southern surf and turf dining at it’s finest.

Visiting the Savannah, GA area and took a suggestion for this restaurant. The ambiance and presentation of food was nice but the taste and seasoning of the food left much to be desired. Luckily we were given a sample of wine which we purchased a glass and that was about the best part. Oh! One good thing that I didn’t get to take a pic of was the calamari which was very good along with its sauce(hence the 2 stars). The service was very slow.
