My wife and I recently went for a babymoon, and were blown away. The Inn and Spa are breathtaking in person. They are actually much nicer than they even appear on the website. The entire staff was very hospitable and accommodating. The breakfasts and deserts made daily were phenomenal, as were the spa services. Chuck and Charlie(the new owners) are wonderful, and make you feel right at home. We will be returning, and will recommend to all of our loved ones. The views are simply majestic.

My husband and I decided to try a B&B for our 6th anniversary(February 2015). We live in New Orleans and after some online research I decided on Lucille’s and booked our trip. We checked in kind of late due to the drive up(but before the front desk closed — don’t worry you can arrange later check-in if needed). Edward was very friendly, answered our questions, gave us the things to do packet, gave us a tour of the inn and help my husband with our bags. The room(#9) was exactly as it’s pictured on the website! It was clean, comfortable, spacious, modern amenities, great fireplace, big tub & shower and beautiful views. Since we came during the colder season we got to use the fireplace and that thing puts out some serious heat! We thought we’d have it on all night, but after about 90 mins we had to turn it off but it stayed warm in the room ALL night! The breakfasts were AMAZING!!! The food was presented beautifully and tasted just as good. The evening baked goods were great too. We took ALL of the brownies one night lol(we didn’t want them to go to waste)! While there, we opted to do some of the activities listed on their website since we weren’t familiar with the area. Everything we did was great fun, worth it and something we’d do again(not going to go into details on this review since it’s about the inn). EVERYONE of the locals we encountered were extremely nice, friendly and more than willing to help us. That good olé southern hospitality!!! The Spa: I did have a spa service while there and I must say that I wasn’t that impressed. It was good. But that’s it — mediocre/average. The masseur was really sweet, but seemed a little inexperienced with warm stone compared to my previous experiences. I would try the spa again, because it is a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, but I’d try a different therapist. There was a mix up with the chocolate covered strawberries that we ordered and we didn’t get them; but they were very apologetic, explained what happened and it wasn’t a problem to me because the had strawberries for breakfast! Yes, they offered to reimburse us but we just had them apply it to the tip we were going to leave anyway! Our last night there … it snowed! We woke up to a winter wonderland!!! Of course we turned into big kids and had to play in the snow :). The road to the inn is uphill and windy so we were a little concerned about getting down the hill. But that morning they scraped road. At breakfast we meet the owner, Jim, and he was super friendly. He informed us that we did not have to rush to leave and could wait until we felt it was safe. The inn was closed for the next 2 days as they were doing some kitchen renovations so there would be no one checking into our room. He also offered us a tour of the private suite they offered(which I secretly wanted to see — how did he know that lol)! It was gorgeous. Definitely booking the suite next visit!!! Matt(my fellow Marine Corps veteran — ohh rah) gave us the suite tour and checked us out. It was as smooth and seamless as check in. This is a trip you won’t regret!!! Highly recommended.

We recently completed our second stay at Lucille’s and we were very quickly reminded of why we enjoy our time there so much. It begins with a warm welcome from the innkeeper and continues with awesome service, food, wine and food until you leave. Breakfasts are tasty and creative. The 360 degree mountain view is hard to beat. We spent an hour in the spa this last visit. .. next time we are signing up for more. We will definitely be back!!!

This place had me in awe from the time I got out my car until the time I left. My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They made sure all our needs were met and went above and beyond. The owners are so nice and humble you wouldn’t even think they owned the place. I absolutely hated the fact that I had to leave and that I did not stay longer. The breakfast was great, and also they gave me as much ice as I needed.

This was an absolutely phenomenal bed and breakfast. It is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Everything is relatively new as the property wasn’t built that long ago. The owner there, being an architect designed it himself. You can tell because of so many small details in the place there. Every inch is just so beautiful. The absolutely best part is the breakfast that is served there. It is included in your stay for free. The owners don’t believe in buffets. Even the good ones aren’t as good of quality as plated meals. You get two courses every morning. One is sweet and the other savory. I can guarentee that the food is better than any restaurant in the area. It’s perfect. Overall I can’t imagine a bed and breakfast being better than this one or the staff being nicer.

What’s a beautiful property. Friendly attentive staff. Gourmet set breakfast prepared fresh daily. Coffee tea and drinks always available. Inn keeper sets out daily home baked desserts around 6 pm to enjoy. Beer and wine(from local winery also) for fee Views from mountain top are breathtaking. On site spa is very popular so book in advance. Hotel is small and quaint. 10 rooms. On America distinctive hotel registry. About 10 minutes from downtown Helen. 20 from Cleveland and 40 from Dawsonville. Lots to see and do in area. Many waterfalls. Wineries and tours. Horseback. Trails. Local arts and crafts. And many antique stores.

This B&B is Heaven on the Mountain Top! The view is majestic and beautiful! The amazing staff and owners(Jim, Jerry, Matt, Beth and Edward) made this the greatest experience ever! Words can not do this place justice. The personal attention they all give to the guest is priceless. There was such care put into every detail, from the amazing gourmet breakfast to the delicious desserts. They have mastered the true meaning of hospitality! I will be back! You can stay in many beautiful places but you can’t always get this level of service.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. From the moment you venture up the insane curvy driveway, you know you’re in a pretty magical place. The grounds are gorgeous, the food is absolutely astounding, and the rooms and amenities are very nice. What gets me every time are the breathtaking views and gorgeous scenery. Finish it off with some of the nicest people and innkeepers, you are in an amazing facility. I have stayed at Lucille’s on three separate occasions now and hands down recommend it for a peaceful retreat.

I stayed here a couple years ago thanks to a coupon deal for a girl cousin’s holiday getaway. We ended up in a fantastic room– Room 5– and my cousins’ were in Room 6. Both were delightful. Elegantly furnished but rustically appropriate for the setting. VERY comfortable mattresses. Fantastic bathrooms– the spacious showers, large tubs, and see through fireplaces are perfect amenities. The breakfast is also very good– a little bit of extra is added to the standard to make it special. The layout of the common areas and the grounds are also very pleasant and comfortable. A lot of areas to enjoy privately or semi privately. We also had the half day spa package. My family really had a good experience. I had a sub par masseuse and the facial experience was just ok. I would give it a second shot though with a different masseuse. My experience there would be a 3⁄5 but I’m really using this review specifically for Lucille’s. Lucille’s MT Inn should be the standard for bed and breakfasts. UPDATE: 6÷27÷14 Spent the first night of my honeymoon here! We stayed again in room 5! They were helpful and let my brother in law check us in early in the day and dropped our bags off for us! The breakfast is charming as ever and the quality is top notch! Very comfortable beds, large double head showers, and spacious tubs! A+

Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Nice, clean amenities. It’s called a «bed and breakfast» for a reason. The amazing breakfasts are an absolute standout feature. You’re offered several courses of freshly prepared food, coffee and juice. Take advantage of the awesome views and take your breakfast on the patio. Incredible way to start your day! The rooms themselves are nice. We had one of the top floor suites, with a fireplace — which was a welcome feature with the weather turning chilly in recent days. They do have wine and beer available upon request, but no bar. There was a jacuzzi tub in our suite, but we couldn’t find a way to turn on the jets. There’s a neat crows nest atop the building, but the furniture up there is cheap and sort of distracts from the otherwise amazing views and the other apropos furniture through the B&B. Still, if you’re looking for a bed and breakfast in the area, it’s hard to imagine you could do much better. Just be sure to get your money’s worth by taking full advantage of the breakfast and the adjacent spa, if you can manage.

We stayed at Lucille’s Mountaintop Inn & Spa for our 10-year anniversary and had such a wonderful time. The owners, who had recently purchased the B&B in September, were amazing, giving us a grand tour when we arrived. They were so very pleasant, hospitable and accommodating. Our room(#6) was perfect: great view, fireplace, jacuzzi tub, king-sized bed, and a few well-selected books. The room and social areas were decorated stylishly, meticulously detailed and very comfortable. Loved sitting out on the expansive back porch, covered in blankets, sipping on warm apple cider and watching the stars. Breakfast the next morning was scrumptious and we both had several helpings. I can say the only bad thing about our stay was it was for only one night — my mistake — our next stay will be much longer. This is definitely our new get-away place.

Wow! My boyfriend and I were visiting his mother and step-father in Atlanta. They wanted to take us to Lucille’s Mountaintop Inn where they had been married last year. We were excited to go see this place that obviously had great sentimental value to them, but this place was more than that. It was flat-out magical. The BF’s mom told us as we were arriving that it was under brand-new ownership, so we were a little wary, wondering what changes could have taken place. However, we couldn’t have been more pleased. Upon check in, we were offered tours of the property, and directed to a fridge of cold beverages open at all hours to guests. We were led to our rooms(two rooms on the 3rd floor) which had amazing views surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, and were beautifully furnished with mission/arts and crafts-style furniture. The room we were in had a spacious bathroom and double shower. Other rooms have fireplaces and jacuzzi tubs. They were making some upgrades to the property the weekend we were there(furniture in the lobby and lounge changed while we were there), and there was set-up for a wedding taking place, which gave a slightly bustling, active energy, but was not distracting. My boyfriend and I took a short hike along the short loop trail through the woods surrounding the property, which was lovely. In the evening, we all sat on the porch in rocking chairs and shared a bottle of wine, as the light disappeared, which will remain my favorite memory of our entire trip(the weather did happen to be perfect that day, which I realize the staff cannot control, but still…) We mentioned to the staff that I had some dietary restrictions, and they went out of their way to make sure I had plenty to eat at breakfast(including baking some gluten-free pumpkin bread for me). The morning views were even more amazing than the previous day’s: mist collected in the mountains. That, along with good coffee, good breakfast made for a wonderful start to the day. We had a nice after breakfast chat with the new owners, who were interested in feedback and clearly very enthusiastic about creating a good experience for their guests. They can rest assured that the property itself can do most of the heavy lifting there, but the touches they’ve added are remarkable. My boyfriend’s mom and step-dad were also really impressed with the positive changes, which was especially impressive. When a place means a lot to you, «improvements» can often seem wrong, but they were both really happy, and remarked several times that it had even improved since they were there to be married last year. Bravo! I hope that we’re fortunate enough to return to Lucille’s when next in Georgia.
