My wife and I couldn’t have asked for a more tasteful atmosphere with a breathtaking view. The clam chowder, angel hair seafood pasta, and cod with mushrooms(I forget the exact name) were exceptional. There was a reasonable/not over the top beer selection and a tremendous wine selection(we drank beer). Our waiter was not pretentious and were treated with respect and dignity by everyone. We highly recommend this fine establishment.

Dinned here on our last night in SF/Tiburon. The view is stunning and worth the visit on that alone, we made it for sunset. There were 12 of us with some kiddos and there was something for all of us. The restaurant is old school but sometimes that is better. I had a killer trout almandine that sent me back to my childhood… it was killer. The oysters were fresh as was the crab. If I lived closer it would be a favorite. The service was very good but maybe they could lose the green vests:)

I was there with a group of friends and family. We chose this place cuz they are at the most beautiful point of view. It look nice from the outside. But when I try their food 10 of the dish that we ordered none of it taste good at all. Even fish and fried for kids or grilled swordfish that is my order. Clam chowder soup is salty. The presentation is worst and old style. Our server he did not look happy at all.

While there is nothing wrong with a «traditional» menu offering, that doesn’t mean ignoring today’s discerning consumer demand for superlative ingredients, freshness and execution(read: this restaurant needs improvement). And while shabby chic can be a cool look, Spinnaker’s décor is downright tired and stale. The bottom line is that this restaurant seems to be resting on the laurels of its spectacular views. Points though for convenient parking and not unreasonable prices considering the beautiful location. #restingonitslaurels

I want to start by saying please do not go here. it was one of the worst meals I have literally ever eaten. from the second I walked in the hallway of the restaurant smelled of a garbage truck. the restaurant is filled with a very elderly crowd(maybe because they’re able to stand how disgusting the food is). The chairs at every table are ripping at the seams and the view you get is not worth the money at all. they have zero outdoor seating but are a waterfront restaurant… the entire place needs a makeover, starting with the menu. from the beginning our waiter sat us down without a drink menu, did not listen to our drink order and was very Frankenstein like and rude. I ordered a French martini, it was pineapple juice with a splash of vodka and little to zero chambord. Getting to the food menu, everything is decently priced you will be spending at least 60-$ 100+ on absolutely sub par food. I ordered the mixed green salad which was extremely over dressed and boring. Also ordered the prawn cocktail and crab cake appetizer. The crab cakes were 90% onions, chives and other ingredients to hide the fact that there isn’t much crab in the crab cakes… as for the prawn cocktail I could’ve spent half the money and bought better shrimp from whole foods. $ 86 later I am leaving disgusted and disappointed with every aspect of my meal. blown away by the ridiculous amount of money I spent. if I could give zero stars I would. Save yourself the time and money and go anywhere else but here.

Excellent food! We sat right by the window and started with some drinks. I ordered the soup of the day which happend to be crab bisque… so delicious! I then ordered the appetizer that had scallops and mussels as my entrée. Perfect. The sauce on it was so good. Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing views, excellent service at the bar and table. Also amazing were the cocktails. Food was average; honestly, I was disappointed. I expected fresh seafood and yet, it tasted as if it had been frozen. Come for the views and the cocktails.

What a great view of San Francisco you have. It’s a perfect place for have a good lunch and a nice view. Prices are doable. Not so expansive you expect. Interior is a little bit old. Old carpet, seats and nothing and very basic. But the view makes everything good. Food wasn’t a lot but it was enough.

View of the city all lit up at night was the winner here and incredible. Front house staff and bartender were very nice and efficient, service once at the table however wasn’t the best. Server wasn’t very inviting and was quick to have us order and it felt rushed. Food was not my favorite! Everything tasted like it was frozen and just heated up real quick, calamari was very rubbery and soggy, ravioli tasted weird and sauce tasted canned with no flavor. Only would come back for drinks and the view. Waste of $$ it was definitely not cheap for us to eat.

Gracious service, tasty meal options, and amazing views– what else could you ask for? We were there to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday and wanted her to feel like royalty, because she deserves it. From the time we walked in and throughout, we felt special. Scott was very attentive and took great care for our group of 10. We will come back again!

The view of the city’s skyline and bay bridge was incredible. Most of my stars are going to the view itself. Food was good, but nothing exceptional. We ordered the oysters, prawn cocktail, crab cakes, pan seared scallops, and the halibut. Free endless bread and butter were served. The only dish that I would recommend is the halibut. The other dishes were decent, but nothing memorable. Décor was a little dated, but had a cozy feel.

Beautiful view, check! Old school, friendly service, check! Classic seafood, check! Okay, so this place is not perfect, but it is a long-time fave of mine. After biking over the bridge and into Sausalito, there is no better spot to relax, refresh and cherish a breathtaking view of the SF skyline, Alcatraz and Angel Island. Yes, the décor is decidedly dated, but somehow the 90’s color scheme and slightly threadbare bar furnishings add to the pre-millennium charm. Try the spinnaker seafood cocktail– a creamy concoction served in a sundae glass. I’d give it a solid B. My date was fond of the quesadilla, but I am not as big a fan — it was stuffed with bay shrimp, crab and mozzarella, and accompanied by a basil/tomato pico de gallo, and French fries, so it was a sort of cross cultural italimexican dish– meh… Plan to try the mussels next time. Love the casual vibe, cool servers, and unpretentious décor that took a back seat to the real star of the show — that life-affirming view. I want to throw a party in the bar. Will update this review if I make that dream come true;-)

My wife and I had lunch here and all in all it was a good experience. We were greeted warmly by the valet and then we were seated promptly at a very nice bay view table. Our waiter was attentive but not obtrusive. We started by sharing a bowl of the clam chowder. It was very good with a generous portion of meaty clams. The table bread was a very fresh sourdough bread and quite worthy of the Bay Area. I ordered the Petrale Sole Dore and my wife had the Mahi Mahi plate. My Sole was fresh and lightly battered. Unfortunately the Mahi Mahi was not fresh and had most likely been frozen. We should have asked whether it was fresh so we will not be too critical.

Besides a beautiful view of the bay, my husband and I enjoyed most of the food we ordered. Sea food appetizer — very tasty, sauce is the best. We could not leave a single drop of the sauce on the plate, we dipped bread in it until the plate was clean ! You only get two or four clams, two prawns and two small scallops. Garden salad — fresh, excellent dressing. Clam chowder — best we ever had, so tasty, you couldn’t taste any cream in it what most of other places use. Sea food pasta — delicious but I would use regular pasta instead of whole wheat. It wasn’t right for this dish . And of course, dessert — apple crisp(not sure about the name) with vanilla ice cream and walnuts in caramel sauce — yumm, can’t be any better !! Strawberries with vanilla base or something like that — it wasn’t good at all, too much whip cream, too sweet, hardly any strawberries in it. Not suggesting this one ! Iced tea — didn’t like it here, poor quality. Prices — affordable Parking — might be an issues but valet available Staff — friendly, fast service We will be back in Sausalito and this restaurant very soon !

I’m going to have to agree with the other reviews. The Spinnaker certainly boasts breathtaking Bay Views, but the food leaves little to be desired. I recently attended a Sausalito Chamber of Commerce dinner party here with a Salsa theme + Cuban band. Folks dressed up in their Latin American best and the mood was certainly festive. The first thing I noticed upon entry was how dated the restaurant was. The interior design reminded me a little of the Love Boat set. This would be all fine and dandy if they were going for a kitsch concept. But I honestly think that the restaurant is sort of frozen in the 70s and the owners have no interest in investing the time or money in to updating the place for a new generation. As I mentioned before, the views from the bar and the deck can’t be beat. So I would certainly recommend coming here for a sunset drink or a mimosa brunch. Unfortunately, the food was pretty dismal. You’d think that for a $ 135 ticket you could at least get some decent bites. The sit-down dinner consisted of a very bland salad with wilted lettuce(which was pretty much inedible); a pork-loin with veggies topped with a mango something-or-another(the dish was already cold by the time it arrived to the table); and a dessert buffet on the deck. The only thing that really sustained me that evening were some of the passed apps(eg the chicken skewers) and the sourdough bread and butter on the table. They offered a cocktail bar on the deck. But once again, I was surprised that an event that cost $ 135/person was also charging $ 10 for a martini. Oh well. Maybe this is just how Sausalito rolls. All in all, I still had a wonderful time at the event. The Cuban band they hired was fabulous, and there were plenty of folks shaking their tail-feather on the dance floor. The Spinnaker is definitely a Sausalito institution. I just think it’s an institution that could possibly benefit from a little face-lift and some more love in the kitchen.

SO I got a chance to attend an event at the Spinnaker. They really have one of the best possible locations in the North Bay you could ask for. Sitting in their event space, looking out at Belvedere, the sweeping views of that Richardson Bay affords make this restaurant a unique dining experience. Their food is pretty good, I had a few chicken skewers, some cold salmon, and an amazing selection of cheese as well as some eggplant bruschetta. These were appetizers during the event so I didn’t actually have a full meal– but based on the quality and presentation of the food I think the meals here will be worth it. Great location, great food, good service and an INCREDIBLE view. Give it a try.

Spectacular atmosphere and service but just adequate food! I gave this three stars for the atmosphere and service. From the host seating us to our great waitress who could not be more accommodating to the beautiful view. The food however was so underwhelming. I just landed in Sanfransisco and this was my first stop for a bite to eat after a long flight from PA on my way to Healdsburg, CA. I wanted a place with a great view and that is what I got. If they could improve on the food, it would be a home run.

Went here on a Wednesday for lunch after kayaking in the morning. Place was about half full, but it was easy enough for me to get seated right next to the window with the amazing view. I got the seafood Caeser salad. I have to say. The best salad I’ve ever had! Generous portion with a huge amount of baby shrimp and bay scallops. I ate every last bit on my plate too, kayaking made me so hungry! Thought $ 18 for the salad was a super fair price. I also had the sausalito martini. It was delicious and price wasn’t bad at all $ 10. The waiter left me a bit confused. maybe he was flirting with me? Just a bit awkward, but not enough to take away from this great dining experience!

The Spinnaker have treated us like VIP superstars on several occasions. The last special occasion was for my BFF’s baby shower. She reserved the back room for the shower and we were catered to hand and foot by the managers Bill and Nelson! The Banquet room could not have been more picture perfect for a sailor themed baby shower. We had a wonderful time, and the service was experienced and did a fantastic job with the timing and table setup. Even on a cloudy day, the Spinnaker boasts fantastic water views. The food was also delicious!
