Not our favorite winery, but it was okay. I think I may have liked it more if we went to the actual winery and restaurant instead of the port. I don’t feel like I got as much of the experience just visiting the port. And we came in about an hour before they closed and the lady seemed very rushed and like she just wanted to get us out of there. Still ended up leaving with a case of wine though, even though their wine was much more expensive than the others.

Awesome!!! Love the sweet people here ! We are out of state and these people were so helpful and offered great service… much better service than fenn valley winery ! Thank you for the sweetness. That’s what outsiders like to remember when visiting a town out of state!!!

The staff is amazing every time I stop in there and free wine tastings! Don’t know of anyone offers them for free anymore except Tabor Hill! Went to the Saugatuck, MI location today and they were so nice to my dog and assisted me even though they were very busy. My husband, doggie, and I really enjoyed ourselves. Excellent service with a smile. L

Overall, I was not impressed with their selection from whites or reds. We went on a Saturday afternoon in June. It was full of bachelorete party goers. I was outnumbered by women literally 30:1. How awesome is that?!? In most instances what guy would not like that? It turns out it was the most obnoxious and drunk bunch. I hate myself for saying this and I am striaght as an arrow. Lets get to the wine tasting. Now as a disclaimer I will tell you that I am somewhat experienced in wine tasting. However, I am far from an expert like someone from«Wine Spectator.» I’m laughing because most patrons were praising their wines and were the ones that raved on the sweet and fruity wines. LOL. Also I must apologize not but I’m sorry but a sauvignon blanc is not supposed to be sweet. Or a Cab should not be rough and tanic on the finish. That about sums it up. Southwest Michigan has many great wineries and you can find better. Although, if you are sight seeing check it out. If you don’t have an aquired taste and think all alcohol is great then this is the place. :)

I’m a fan of this location and the service that we experienced in it, not necessarily all of their wines — but since everyone’s individual tastes differ, I will try to not let that affect my review. The store is small and doesn’t have any sort of pretentious air, and the staff was the same way. We had a great conversation with the man who helped us with the tasting, and he was able to help us find a couple of wines that met our taste preferences(the Muscat and the Demi-Sec). The tastings are free and unlimited, so why not at least stop by?

i love this store! my bf and i was lucky enough to wander in one of their wine tasting– very delightful, very helpful, and of course great tasting. We did not feel like we were pressured to buy anything, but we left tipsy and 4 bottles in tow.

I’m giving Tabor Hill five stars just based on the fact that they were the only tasting bar open in Saugatuck on the day we visited. But even without that fact, I really enjoyed myself. The gentleman behind the bar was very courteous and helpful. We tried several different varieties and even bought two bottles of their specialty white, the Demi Sec. I would return here and buy more if given the opportunity to visit Saugatuck again.

Went in for a tasting on Saturday afternoon and the staff was really friendly. They had a huge list to choose from and we atleast tasted about 15 wines and they didn’t pressure us for being selective at all. Ended up leaving there with 5 bottles — the demi sec which is the most popular are give great gifts.

The wines I tasted were great, but the staff was really unfriendly, standoffish and unhelpful with wine selection. I ended up getting two bottles of wines that I enjoyed tasting, but left with a bitter taste in my mouth(not from the wines). I recommend the wines. The tasting experience may vary upon who the staff is that day.

Totally agree with the words of Johnny B… free wine tasting, what more could you want! I thought the wines I tried were pretty tasty. No, I am not a wine aficionado, so what. I liked the ones I had. We purchased 2 bottles of the Classic Demi-Sec, their number 1 seller. Apparently Bob Hope bought 80 cases of this stuff on his 80th birthday… good enough for Bob Hope, good enough for me! Cute place. Try it, you will like it.

Free wine tasting… what more could you ask for? We bought a bottle of the sparkling white Blanc de Blanc to drink on our B&B’s porch.

Tabor Hill is probably one of the bigger wineries in the state of Michigan, but bigger does not necessarily mean better. They don’t limit the number of wines you can taste here, but despite that I couldn’t find one that I actually liked enough to buy. Red wines are very heavy on the tannins and the white wines were too sweet or had no character. Still, the staff is extremely nice, and free wine, even mediocre free wine, is better than none at all.
