Service is very slow when the place is busy… The tavern tots I ordered came with accidental chunks of chicken that were dropped onto my plate. I notified my bartender — when I could finally flag her down ten minutes later — she did nothing but shrug. If they’re that careless, what else is going wrong with the food safety? Did they pick your entrée up off the floor before serving it to you???

One of my favorite places in Sarasota! Chill environment and a great view if you sit outside on the upper deck. Great live entertainment as well. Favorite thing on the menu are the shrimp tacos and the beer flights! The servers and bartenders are very well trained and are able to help you choose the perfect beer!

Great place for a microbrew. Would like to see more local ones on tap. Support your local breweries (Darwin, J Dubbs, Fat Point, Motorworks, Big Top, etc.). Food is fun and creative but price point on the high side for apps).

Ok, it’s Sunday afternoon and I’m in downtown Sarasota at World of Beer. Ok. I accept that. But life is good here.
The chicken wings here are in my top-​10 of all time. Really. These fuckers are good. All wings, no drums, and they still rocked it!
Sunday brunch has a one-​man band singing your favorite 80’s cheesy songs. You have to give it to this guy to wake up Sunday, come in here and sing karaōke. He is entertaining. And plays guitar so give him $$$ in his tip jar.
Located right across the street from the movie theater, this place is a no-​brainer for date night movie then bar/​restaurant.

We came here for wings and they were delicious! They have a giant jenga set and their upstairs patio is awesome.

Food was descent, we were, unfortunately, there during brunch so there really wasn’t much to choose from. I had chicken and waffles which was adequate. Service was descent and the beer selection is awesome, though it would be nice if more of their beers were on tap. Overall it is definitely worth the visit of you’re looking for a beer downtown but I wouldn’t rush out for it or anything.

Great spot, love the beer selection and food! Only complaint is how loud the live music is on Fridays — you can’t even hear the people at your table. Ruins otherwise wonderful atmosphere.

Hubby and I came here just before the ID4 fireworks in downtown Sarasota. We were supposed to go to our favorite Japanese restaurant around the area but they closed that day so we ended-​up at this world. We ordered kale salad, shrimp tacos and chicken wings with 2 separate flavors. My goodness, why didn’t anyone alert me that dishes are so big at this world? My world is tiny. My hubby’s world is big so he didn’t think we had plenty but trust me the tacos that come in 3 could feed 3 people, so we had 1.5 each, that’s plenty. Wings come in many flavors and we asked for original and chipotle? Chicken wing is not my thing but I tried them. Hmmm, pretty finger-​licking-​good. Good thing I didn’t eat my fingers! I’m not a beer girl but I enjoyed this place. Hubby ordered some. They have a huge selection of beer. Our waiter Stephan seemed like he knows what he’s doing. His recommendation brought us back the second night with a group of friends from NY who visited Florida around the same time. The second night we sat upstairs but outside the bar area on a cozy sofa. Nice! They have a live music outside but that’s downstairs. Downstairs or upstairs, the visit was worth it. Maybe we’ll come back before we leave for NY. Cheers all!

Young’s Chocolate Stout is great. Good selection of drafts as well as coolers full of indie labels and the standard options as well. The crab cakes with kale and apple slaw was excellent — and gluten free (made with rice flour)! The steak salad was normal and good. Standard burgers and many options on the full menu — from soups to desserts. Yes, it is primarily a bar/​sports bar atmosphere, with dark wood and mostly high tables in the small indoor space and lots of tables outside on the open air patio. However it’s fine to go with kids on a rainy night. Staff was knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive. I will definitely return.

Lots and lots of beers to choose from. The giant pretzel, wings and sausage sampler and tasty. Full menu available. I am not a big beer fan but I loved the ciders they had.

Good music. Nice beer selection. Fun atmosphere. Food pretty bland. Service just okay. But they do have a great happy hour!

I love this place! This is the first WOB I’ve been to that serves food that they make. instead of food from restaurants near by. Great location and atmosphere

Fun place with great food. Walk to McCurdys Comedy Club. Lots of beers. Suggest eating downstairs because the noise level upstairs gets out if hand did tonight tin roof.

Crowded and pretty seriously under serviced in terms of waitstaff however the food is surprisingly VERY good and the oversized pretzel was moist, delicious, salty and perfect for sharing. Truly the best I’ve ever had. The shrimp tacos were divine as was the kale salad and flat breads. If you’re looking for a very casual sportsbar atmosphere to watch a game or sit outside and enjoy a Sarasota night, look no further. I’m not a beer person but the selection is massive. They have a full bar and drinks were fine. All in all surprisingly very good.

This place is great!, they have gone above and beyond, great staff, awesome manager. this place delivers, it’s like hanging out at your buddy’s place but with a ton load of various beers and a Florida vibe ambient

World of Beer has graced Downtown Sarasota! This is now the place to be for beer and spirits, plus this location has food. Great spot to have lunch, including a business lunch during the week. Then return later, after hours, for a drink! Also a great place to have dinner and watch sports. The menu is great with pub fare. The atmosphere is also great with downstairs and upstairs seating, including outside seating with plenty of TV’s. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. This is a must place to hang out, have a bite to eat and a drink!

Place gets 4 stars, since food was good and atmosphere was very nice the selection of beers was great and it had s full liquor bar prices fair the staff was very friendly not like staff at one ion university who if u sit at bar sometimes it seems it’s inconvenient for them to help you.
