These people can not get an order right. Today I ordered a chicken salad wrap and it came warm and there was about a teaspoon of chicken salad in the wrap. $ 8.00 what a waste. It was awful for the third time. I’m going to end up sick over this one. Never order food from here!

I want to like this place. The open air, the friendly feeling, but I am a bit disappointed in how messy it was today(outside, inside was nice). I’m not sure if that can be chalked up to nasty weather the last couple days, but I would expect a better presentation, given all the wonderful looking pictures I’ve seen posted of this place. On the other hand, the barista, a young lady, Was exceptionally nice and friendly, and made a great vanilla latte, and told me some of the plans for the coffee house. I’m not sure if she is the owner but she seemed to have a lot of ideas and they all sound excellent if they can come to fruition. So overall, other than the clutter, this is a really cool place. I’m gonna come back in order to give it a fifth star.

Very rustic with poor parking. Staff still learning to make coffee. This is the baseline of our measure of coffee bars. Improvement is hoped for. Internet works.

This is a cool little joint. I got the Reuben, and it was tasty and filling. My sister raved about her vegan wrap. There’s a lot of chill out space, including a ratty looking half-pipe in the backyard. They have an indiegogo campaign to repair the thing – only $ 2000! Bargain!

This is exactly the type of place I didn’t know existed in Sarasota until I came across it. I was doing a home inspection next door and wandered over. It’s laid back, very friendly and has a «Caribbean time» feel to it mixed with skate culture. There’s a half pipe out back that’s undergoing restoration. The workers were very hospitable. This place is the polar opposite of a corporate food service operation — you immediately feel like you belong there. It would be hard not to stop here the next time I’m driving by. Good job guys!

I’m a winter resident in the Bayou Oaks neighborhood, been meaning to try this place for a while, and glad I finally did. My companion thoroughly enjoyed his beef grilled sandwich and my iced caffe latte was strong and tasty. The friendly server gave us each a free home-baked cookie. The Green Bean has an eclectic artsy vibe that reminds me of places back in my hometown of Madison WI, comfortable and a little funky, People can dine on the patio in front or the little garden area(complete with beautiful cat) in back, and a further larger area out back that I didn’t explore, with a half-pipe for skateboarders. All in all, a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. It’s a bonus that their coffee is organic and free trade, cups and everything are bio-degradable.

Fantastic spot for coffee and breakfast. Lunch was good, too. Sarasota needs more spots like this one.

What a great little neighborhood hangout. A really cool little spot to hang and pass some time. The owner has a full array of amenities. From the half pipe out back to the hot tub out front. A fish tank and awesome color scheme make he hangout really inviting. If you need a good book to read or your fix of show time he has that to offer. A great selection of organic coffee and herbal tea. The food I didn’t try but he offered to make me one of his famous Cuban sandwiches. It’s a perfect little neighborhood spot to hang out at in sarasota’s slowly but surely up and coming ringling art district. If you need a quick cup of joe or some good company it is a great place to check out. It would make and amazing venue for live music or an afternoon of yoga and sunlight. A really great concept, a place to really hangout and meet some friends. It’s definitely not sanitized like Starbucks. It has that great local bohemian feel. A must try.

Well I would call this place hidden… not necessarily a gem. We came here because we like trying local joints. Walked up to a neat little house style resturant. That was the only thing I thought was cool about it. So here we go. From what I read this place was awesome. Awesome chicken Caesar wrap. Amazing Chai tea latte. Naturally we got the wrap and Chai tea. After waiting 20 minutes after we ordered… 1 of our 3 items comes out. The wrap. Another 5 mins later was the latte. And another 5 was my girlfriends«turkey» sandwich. The wrap was tiny… and I mean tiny for 7 dollars. The flavors were alright but nothing I can’t get at panera. Now my girlfriend got the Chai tea and turkey sandwich. The Chai tea was asked to be made with skim milk. That didn’t happen. We aren’t ones to complain so she just sucked it up and carried on. Finally she tastes it… and it tastes like coffee and not tea. Maybe like it was brewed in the same machine as coffee was brewed in. Now for her«sandwich». the turkey didn’t even cover all the bread and it was 1 thin slice if turkey. All she tasted was bread and sprouts. I mean looking at the food I don’t know what took 30 minutes to get our food out. We were the only ones there. So a couple more things. We were turned off when an employee was walking into the place with groceries for the café with a lit cigarette in his mouth. And lastly, the employees were talking inside, dropping f bombs loudly. All in all, I would not recommend this place to anybody due to all of the above. It’s a good concept poorly executed.

Talk about a «hidden» gem! Thankfully, my wife spotted this place. Nestled between two bungalow style residential homes(directly across from the fire station), it’s easy to miss. What a pleasant surprise when we entered; it looks more like an artists’ living room than your typical coffee shop/restaurant. The owner, Jason, was a gracious and friendly host. He made some suggestions and we chose two wraps. My wife had the raspberry turkey and absolutely loved the flavor and remarked how the raspberries brought another dimension to her sandwich. I had the Chicken Cesar which I thought was pretty remarkable. We also ordered ice coffee which came with ice that is frozen from ice coffee as to not dilute your drink. Pretty cool! Our total bill was $ 14.00 and if you check in on Unilocal, you receive another 10% discount. Like Todd R., I similarly appreciate small local businesses and encourage people to support them. After speaking with Jason, I learned he is a Navy veteran who served two combat tours in the Middle East… even more the reason for me to laud his establishment. Green Beans is definitely worth the stop!

This new café came out of nowhere into my neighborhood and I have very mixed feelings about it. The one thing that bothers me the most is the prices, 3.25 $ for a small vanilla coffee with milk — that’s ridiculous. I appreciate that it sells sandwiches and other eats but on a student budget I would never be able to afford them, not if I want to get a coffee as well and as far as I know they don’t offer a student discount. Big-E’s across the street is much more student friendly and I doubt that I would ever pass over Big-E’s friendliness and food for GBCH. Even though it’s a walk away from where I live, I feel like I do not belong there. Put-together, artsy(in a trying to look fine artsy way), and expensive in reality this café came to the neighborhood and is an alien on the block. It’s sad that this would-be fixture might be just a drive-by landmark.

The Green Bean Coffee House is brand new in the neighborhood, and the food is great. I’ve tried both the breakfast croissant(that was written up in the paper) and the cuban sandwich: both were excellent. It’s very local, very new and it’s brought me back within a week. Try it! By the way: free wifi, dog friendly, and three types of coffee. Good stuff.
