All kids activities like camps and sports are great! People that work with kids for the most part really care about the kids. The athletic director(not sure of his exact title), coach Robbie is amazing! He works so well with all kids and has taught mine so much:) Like others said, some of the front desk staff isn’t very good or nice but small price for taking my kids to place they love and get so much out of! Oh and exercise classes are very good, just sometimes too crowded.

Love the water park area, just wish they were open longer on the weekends. Maybe 7 or 8? That would be fantastic! My boys love, love the diving boards and the majority of the staff are friendly

Frankly, the YMCA is a nice center BUT the staff are VERY poorly trained. EVERY time that you ask something, even simple things, of the front desk, they’re like«huh»? Customer service is non-existent and if your kids are enrolled in their camps, they can’t locate them half of the time. Often when you call, you get these characters who are like, «who did you want to speak with?» five times, and then they say things like, «I’m the only one here and I don’t know where your kid is“and when you say«please locate my kid» they say«I can’t.» SAYWHAT!!!

Amazing complex and variety of classes and things to do. Always very clean and full of people to assist. Great amount of equipment and fun walking/running track on the second floor. Only issues are parking due to swimming complex/meets going on and mostly teenager staff.

Very Nasty lady that works the front entry desk may be the reason they are losing so many members. She is rude and really should be put into a class to teach customer service points. We as members pay to use the YMCA … If you can’t afford to staff the building and are using volunteers they still need to be trained and if they are not friendly or even the least bit nice … Make sure they do not have contact with the public!!!

Great YMCA that literally has everything. Indoor Track, Pool, Basketball. Great selection of equipment, very clean and bright. Staff is really helpful. The locker rooms are clean. They also have outdoor tennis, pool, basketball. The prices are very reasonable, I pay 28 bucks for a week pass which is very cheap in my book. Ample parking and great location if you want to change and go for a outdoor run. If you live in South Sarasota area then this should be your work out facility. One thing I haven’t got around to trying on my extended visits to this area is the group classes, which I plan on trying next time and I will update my review.

The BF and I are on a family plan for $ 85 a month so I consider this a pretty good deal considering all that we get. I love the classes they offer. My two favorites are the spin class, and body pump. My only disappointment is this isnt exactly a place that is easy for those who work nights. While all the night classes are going on, I am working. While all the morning classes are going on, I am sleeping. I wish they had a spin class right in the middle of the afternoon, but obviously most«normal» people wouldnt make it to such a strange time. I can still do the elliptical though and each machine has its own tv which is pretty cool. I’ve yet to feel comfortable enough to participate in the weight room downstairs, but there is a smaller version weight room upstairs off of the track. My favorite thing to do is hit up the steam room after a great work out. It is so relaxing and I leave the gym feeling totally zen. There are obviously certain times of the day that are busier than others, but this is such a large place that it never feels totally cramped. I rarely interact with the staff(besides the fitness instructors) but they all seem nice enough and there is plenty of them around to help with anything you need. One of the greatest things about this is they are trying to trick you or screw you over. You pay a monthly fee. No sign up fee. No annual dues. No cancellation fee. You can always go check it out for yourself with a tour and a free day pass to try it.

Image a sweltering 100 degree Florida day. Now image swimming laps in a long course pool that is cooled to a comforting 78 degrees. Now image you are kicking on your back looking up at the crystal blue sky as the palm trees sway. My friends, image no more. This pool is the reason why the Evelyn Sadlier Branch YMCA is amazing. You could live out that exact scenario. If the pool doesn’t convince you to get off your ass and go work out, their indoor facility will. Did I also mention they have an indoor pool as well? Cardio upstairs, weights down stairs, and great group classes(I particularly enjoy spinning and the Body works classes). Not to mention this YMCA is close to the Legacy Trail where you can run and bike for miles and miles and miles. Writing this post makes me want to get up extra early for a 715 spin class tomorrow on a fine Saturday morning… then come back at noon for open swim in the 50 meter pool. Let’s hope I can stay that motivated tomorrow after my dog licks my face to wake me up for a walk at 6 am.
