LongHorn Steakhouse

We are regulars at The Longhorn in Sarasota, but Saturday we went for a late lunch early dinner. Ordered a 6 oz sirloin med well with a side and a salad. The salad came, to look at the salad I new something didn’t look right I pick up a piece of the lettuce and it had a dead bug on it. The manager came over and was very apologetic. He said the rest of our food he will make sure it comes out better. My steak came out well done, by then I lost my appetite. That incident with the salad should have never happened. I will never eat at this restaurant again. After seeing that I could never trust them again. You have to be so careful how people prepare your food. The kitchen and manager need to go back and get better training on how to prepare and practice sanitation. This location is Gulfgate and 41

The service at Longhorn was fantastic. The food is good. But, my margarita rocked! Seriously, my steak was just okay, but they made a better one for me. So, no complaints. It’s a very busy place with a lot of families. So, it’s a bit loud. All in all, it was good.

I’m not big on big franchises, so my bias comes through in my ratings.
Having said that, LongHorn on Fruitville is consistently clean, with a friendly and competent lunch staff. It’s a regular lunch spot for me, given the convenient location. I enjoy the 7-​Pepper Steak Salad, which I order nearly every time.
My only complaint is that it is nearly always cold in the restaurant. I am sometimes nearly shivering as I eat, so much that I try to avoid the place if I’m not dressed for cool weather.

Went to Longhorn Steakhouse on 8÷9÷15 with my girlfriend, brother, nephew, and parents to celebrate mine and my Father’s birthday (I turned 50 and he turned 73). While our server was incredibly good at her job, I was served the absolute worst excuse for a prime rib I’ve ever seen. While it did look awesome, it was difficult to cut with the steak knife. I knew this was a bad sign. When I asked my brother why he ordered a hamburger, he said that the last 3 steaks he’d ordered from this Longhorn were awful. That would have been a handy bit of information to have when deciding where to go for our birthday dinner. :-) After incessantly chewing the 2 pieces I’d managed to cut from my prime rib, I put down my knife and fork and informed our server that it was inedible. She asked if I wanted another one, but I’ve worked in enough restaurants in my life to know that you never send anything back and ask for something else. I simply asked her to remove my meal from our bill.
What pissed me off the most about the whole situation was when the manager came over to our table. He asked about my prime rib, so I explained it all to him and the only question he had was «did she (our server) offer you another one?» This whole situation had absolutely nothing to do with our server and everything to do with their kitchen. It just angered me that he tried to deflect the blame to her, rather than admit to the fact that they were serving an inferior cut of meat.
Needless to say, they will not get a second chance from me.

Carne excepcional, el punto med-​rare muy conseguido, un buen lugar para el disfrute de los amantes de la carne, excepcional el Porterhouse* For Two. No le ponemos 5 estrellas porque el camarero que nos tocó tenia poca paciencia. A pesar de esto sumamente recomendable.

Prime rib raw! No croutons on salad! Gave us three pieces of bread menu says a loaf! Not wasting my money ever again at this place!!!

Plesant surprise. Friendly attentive staff. Best prime rib sandwich I ever had. Looking forward to my next visit.

Ate lunch here the other day the server was very good food took a little longer than normal to come out but they had just opened. Had the burger and soup combo the burger was one of the better ones I have had in a restaurant and there french onion soup is excellent.

Flo’s filet was perfectly cooked. This is a different location than the one I had been to before and was surprised at the consistent quality.
I usually write off chains but this one made the grade.
Many healthy items alongside savory Americana type favorites. Comes with a healthy appetite.

I normally don’t do chains so I wasn’t expecting much but I was very presently surprised at the service and the food. Had a drink at the bar and was served promptly Our table was quickly ready even though the place was packed. The service was quick and attentive. I was surprised that my ribeye steak was cooked to a real medium rare and tasty. Side items were fresh and delivered hot The décor is typical and not fancy but worth a try if you want a decent meal

Ate here for the second time. Friday January 23^rd. had the filet with cut up Lobster on the top. the Lobster «tasted off“but I did eat it as I thought maybe it was the sauce…24hours later. I had the worst FOOD POISONING OF MY LIFE! I vomited 20 times and had diarrhea… the headaches gas and bloating lasted for 7 days… AWFUL. HORRIBLE experience! DO NOT EAT HERE

Tonight we sat @ the bar. The restaurant was busy, but the bar had open seating. Sherrie the bartender was fantastic as was the food. 2 steaks, 1 medium rare the other medium were cooked to perfection. The loaded baked potato along with mushrooms and onions were all delicious. We will definitely come back a couple more times before season’s back and it turns into an hour wait. Tonight was good

Just ok. It’s a chain. Nothing special. My husband’s mashed potatoes arrived cold. My burger was bland. The Parmesan crusted chicken is always a win. Service was good.

They have difficulty getting steaks cooked to order. Our table asked for one medium and two medium rare. They all arrived raw. The manager was pleasant and stayed with us until our steaks returned from the kitchen. They were overdone. I hate returning anything to the kitchen to get redone. We ate for free thanks to the manager’s witnessing the situation (how much money are they losing that way?), but we will never return.

Won’t be returning to that location. Food was mediocre and service poor. If a steakhouse cant get steak right, who can? Shame …

My husband and I are in town visiting family and we went to Longhorn on a whim (we were starving and driving so we stopped here), never having been to one before. We tend to not go to chain restaurants so we weren’t expecting much. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and everything was delicious. (I’m super picky so that’s really saying a lot.) Our waitress Carol was so kind and helpful, she really helped make our experience great. To top it off, the manager came by to welcome us and he gave us a dessert on the house for our first trip to Longhorn! Highly recommended!

The chicken caesar salad, which I get at least 3 times per week, is sooooo good.

If you like this place you have no idea what steak is suppose to taste like.

First place we ate when we arrived in sarasota. Considering we had a 7am flight and didnt eat, we were hungry by the time we arrived about 1pm. Very filling. They give you the option for bread. Soft loaf, creamy butter. I had a burger and fries, simple but delicious. My friend had mac n cheese and onion soup with a few homemade chips and was stuffed. Yum!

We made an early (7 PM) stop on New Years Eve for dinner at Longhorn Steak House. Going to restaurants on a big «night out» is always against my better judgment but it actually worked out quite well.
We’ve eaten at LongHorn a number of times as it’s a favorite of some friends, and I have to say that I am always pleasantly surprised. Even on this heavy volume night, after about a 20 minute wait we were seated at a comfortable table and handled promptly and efficiently by a very professional waiter.
As a steak eater I had the 22 oz Porterhouse ($ 24.99) that came with a loaded baked potato (many other side choices are available) and choice of Caesar or tossed salad. Honey Wheat bread is served to the table and was quickly replaced as it disappeared. The steak arrived promptly, exactly as ordered and was tender and delicious. The others in our group also had steaks and everyone was pleased.
As dinner concluded a manager approached the table to ensure that we were pleased. I was impressed on such a busy night.
