Nice people, not great hot dogs. Had two «hot diggity» (Coney) dogs. Unremarkable dogs, and I’m not sure what that was but it wasn’t chili. Mealy, bland, but hot. Unless the flagship product improves dramatically, I won’t be back.

I don’t understand how this place gets any bad reviews! What a place! Love the nostalgic atmosphere and the food is terrific! The owners are so sweet and welcoming. Don’t listen to the haters on here and try it out! I had the fresh hand patted cheeseburger and a chili dog. Can’t wait to go back. It’s not a «cash only» place but it is recommended to cut costs and to help keep this mom and pop shop open in the future.

My bf is from Sarasota and has been coming here since he was a kid. We stop here at least once every time we visit and the burgers and dogs are on par with what we eat in San Francisco. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Support this family-​owned business instead of the chains in SRQ.
There is so much food in Sarasota that is just boring and not very good. HDD takes their time with the burgers and turns something simple into something delicious.
Skip Culver’s and all of those other fast-​food joints and go for the real thing here.

Totally forgettable. Have had better dogs at ball parks. Just commercial pink cylinders with generic yellow cheesy slices and plain fixin’s held together in an ordinary bun.

Best dog in town. My family has been going here for at least the last 30 years. Nothing fancy, but clean, friendly and great food. Try the hot diggity dogs and fried mushrooms.

If you don’t think this place has the best frickin name out there then I don’t bang with you. Reminds me of Yosemite Sam chasin around bugs bunny or something. Hold up, Yosemite Sam may have actually said «Hot Diggity Dog».

Ditto the other reviews. I like their fries, but the dogs are just dogs. In fact, even though the chili is real coney sauce rather than chili like from a bowl, it’s really not very good. Kind of like dog food that stayed in the slow cooker too long. Burgers are six bucks and not worth it. I won’t be going back.

Wow onyl 2 stars!!! I ate 3 different hot dogs here! All of them were the best in Sarasota by far. Ive been to every hot dog place in SOTA and this place owns them all. The owner told me they have an amazing burger which I will try next. If youre a hot dog fanatic like me give this place a shot!!!
