In the past it has always been great. But tonight was the worst. French onion soup taste like beef stew and was thick mush. The 5 way chilli pasta had very little chilli and was dry. Server seemed overwelmed and didnt keep up with the drinks. If you want good food go to the other geckos not this one.

This is your average chain bar/restaurant on a first impression, but it actually feels kind of neighborly. Bartender was quick and super nice and people at the bar actually make small talk with you. The setup is great too. Nice bar with huge tvs just above the back of the bar, great outdoor patio overlooking a little lake and just an all-around comfortable setup. I was here once before and had chicken fingers, which were decent, but chainy. But I would certainly return if I’m ever in the area again.

I use to really like this place but once they did away with the salmon and vodka sauce pasta dish with mushrooms it only went downhill from there. The décor is the usual sports décor, the outdoor seating is pretty cool but I can’t get over the subpar expensive food. I’m not sure what happened but they aren’t as good as they were when they first opened at this location. The downtown location however is still tasty even though they too did away with my favorite dish.

An excellent burger My food was excellent. I tried their Gecko Burger, a good thick burger with a little chili and a couple of deep fried onion rings. There was enough chili to impart the flavor without making it a messy sandwich. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The guy next to me got the same thing and had the same positive opinion. Service was fine, not friendly smiling joking with us type of service but more what do we want and kept the drinks refilled. The food took a little while to arrive, but there were 8 of us that made it, so it was certainly understandable the food would take a little longer. It all arrived at the same time. I was with a group that met at Gecko’s for lunch. Our organizer tried to request one of the round tables so we could more easily talk, first by trying to reserve one over the phone and then arriving early to try to get one. Couldn’t reserve one, we needed to be 10 people and were only 9 who planned to come. Even though I saw a couple of those round tables empty, our request was not honored, we were simply led to a line of tables pushed together while we watched and that was where we were going to sit. I felt like our request was just blown off today with a lack of care. It was not a good start at all. Overall, due mainly to the food, this Gecko’s will stay on our list of places to meet up from time to time. It is in a great location across the street from Sam’s Club where the old Trader Vic’s Restaurant was located, and there is a large parking lot. Unlike Trader Vic’s, the place was reasonably busy. I have found Gecko’s in general, they have several restaurants in the area, very good places to eat. There are several TVs to watch the game, a large bar, and depending on where you sit this one has a nice view of a small lake, sometimes home to a small alligator.

Same menu as the other locations. Nice building and location. I find the restaurant on 70 to be a lot better with friendly staff and prompt consistent service. The staff seems indifferent and the food is not as consistent here. I like my burger rare and they don’t seem to believe me. I’ve sent back cold fries .I’ve also sent back shrimp that wasn’t cooked right if they get their staff on point then it’s a good place to eat

We went with a group and all had different dishes except for my husband and myself – we had the Southwestern Salad which came with a crispy tortilla shell. We both enjoyed it greatly – great flavor and very fresh. We’d go back any time we’re in town.

Sorry to say but the classic burger the other evening was so overcooked that it was dry and inedible. Our orders arrived quickly and the server was efficient and very courteous. When I remarked abut the overcooked burger, both our server and the manager expressed apologies, but we couldn’t send it back due to our time constraint. And while the burger was priced at only $ 5(on Mondays, apparently), it was a still waste of food and money. BTW we were each discounted 10%($.50???). I will not return to Gecko’s.

Great atmosphere and service. The staff attentive and food is great. I normally don’t give five stars on any restaurant but this restaurant deserves the recognition for the outstanding service for the last two years. Good job Gecko’s!

Let me first make this clear that the one star is only for ONE of their dishes, not other’s or the overall experience here. Wow. I NEVER thought I’d have anything bad to say about ANY of the Geckos’ restaurants, but I felt compelled to write this, still being in shock. About a year and ½ ago I ordered the blackened shrimp pizza/flatbread here, and thought I’d died and gone to heaven. Because of that, I went back another two times after that for more of this delight. But on the fourth visit for this dish last week, I was appalled at what they served me. The«crust» was basically, and I can swear to this from experience, an cheap flatbread out of a bag like you’d buy, and I’ve gotten at the grocery store, instead of the incredible crust I had the first 3 times. Also, the shrimp was NOT blackened. There was very little cheese and/or other ingredients, either. I’m not one to normally complain, but when a guy that appeared to be some sort of manager stopped by our table and asked how everything was, I certainly took the opportunity to ask him what had happened, thinking maybe I had ordered the wrong item. He said that they use to use El Panaficio’s crust(which explains why it was awesome-a 5 star pizza on Main St.). But rather than explain why they stopped using it, he just apologized. The bottom line here is that I“m shocked that such a normally reputable establishment would even consider leaving this on the menu. But what else amazes me, is that the«crust» was not even crispy. I make«homemade» pizza’s quite often at home myself, and if they’d only put olive oil and some garlic powder on this«wrap», it would have still been much better than how they served it.
