Flying Fish Fleet Deep Sea Fishing

Went with my daughter and my friend while visiting Sarasota. Wish I could give this boat 6 stars in some ways, but was lacking in a few areas.
What was good:
1) Crew. Mates worked really hard to help the full boat. I wish I had more cash on me for tipping than I did. First party boat crew where I felt that way.
2) Sandwiches — had what may have been the best bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches ever on this boat — and it was delivered to me — I didn’t have to stand around waiting for it.
3) The day we went, it was non-​stop action for the most part. Daughter loved it!
4) Nice views from top deck of the boat.
What could be better:
1) The condition of the rods they lend you. One had the thick monofilament that was
tied to other segments of monofiliament line. The big knots kep getting stuck in the eyelets at the end of my fishing rod. Another rod they gave me had the gears stripped and it was hard to pull anything in.
2) Super long wait to get fish cleaned after the trip was over. Turned a very good day into a
bad time for my daughter. Next time I’ll bring a cooler and take the fish back to clean it myself.

Group of 16 guys on a bachelor party, did the half day trip and had a great time. The crew of 3 was polite and very helpful. For a nominal fee, they cleaned our 30+ fish that we kept. Then they recommended a restaurant to where we can take our fresh catch and have it prepared to our liking. Would definitely recommend this charter fishing company.

It was just okay. 8 – 12:30 trip. Got about an hour of fishing in and didn’t catch too much. Staff wasn’t really around to help out much yet expected a 20% tip for doing nothing.
Captain was rude to some kids who wanted to see his cabin.
May be the cheapest but unless your going on a half day trip I wouldn’t recommend it.

this was our first deep sea fishing adventure. Three of us ventured down from snowy MI, had a tight schedule. They took great care of us, got us scheduled on a slow weekend time without hassle. The people were great, captain, and first mate Mike, awesome.
My first fishing trip ever… caught 4 fish. Our group of 3 caught 29 total. Next trip wil be one aimed at large fish. Had a great time, would do again in a heartbeat.
Reasonably priced, great time, and great crew.
Thanks for making our winter fun. We are back in the –6 degree snowy weather already and planning our next FL fishing trip!

We had visited the office at Marina Jack on Friday and asked specific questions about the size and type of fish that was being caught. The office staff described the fish as about 18−24″ in length and named about 5 different species. Sunday on the trip, Not so, the fish were about 12″ and they were almost all the same species. We hate being deceived and it feels very much like we were cheated.
The boat as too hot, no A/​C or even a fan. No ice for drinks, over priced food.
The one decent size fish that I caught got away because the helpful staff was in too big of hurry and snapped the line loosing what felt like a 15 – 20 pound fish. How can we catch a big fish when the gear doesn’t holdup.
I also think they spent too much time moving between sites. We had good fishing at the first spot and the captain decided it was time to move. The next spot was nearly dry.
I would not recommend these people for any outing.

We had a great time on the private, six hour trip! We caught 30 — 35 red grouper and a 20 + pound barracuda. The grouper ranged in size from 3 — 6 pounds each, so it was great fun! We decided to take our wives, and we were not sure they were going to love the experience… But they had a great time! We kept 4 red grouper that were 4 – 5 lbs each, and they were great to eat when we got back to our vacation condo!
We will definitely look to do the ten hour trip next time in order to find the bigger fish! The captain and his deck hand were great at finding the fish!

The staff and complete crew are just dam good people. I had been going down to this area for years as my parents had a place in the area. We wanted to get out on the water without all the high costs. They have a head boat, they take large groups of fishermen out each time to reduce everyones costs. I have never had a bad trip out with them and always brought back a lot of fish. They can tell you about a place called O’leary’s at the other end of the marina. This place will prepare your fish for you at a greatly reduced cost. I started going here and we had so many fish I started giving some away, what a way to meet people.

These guys are great especially if there are just a couple of people in your party. Reasonable prices and you comehome with the fish.
