Today I visited this nursery. It was worth the drive. There were many interesting plants I had not seen before. I would go here again, and would recommend this to a friend. Charming, educational, unique, friendly, reasonable.

After speaking with the very knowledgeable folks here, we purchased some native plants last winter which thrived throughout the hot Florida summer while we were up north. We enjoy their health and beauty with almost no maintenance from us. More importantly, we appreciate their positive environmental impact, as they do not demand extra water or chemicals. The prices are quite reasonable and the setting is lovely.

Took another trip out to the Florida Native Pants Nursery today after digging out old invasive plants from the front yard. When you are ready to replace your water hogging pain in the butt plants you have to come here. They have a great selection. But best of all the people who work here know there plants. I just show them a picture and describe the area I want to put a native plant and they always have a couple of great suggestions. Everything I’ve put in based on their recommendations and suggestions have turned out to be perfect for someone like me who wants to limit irrigation and move back to more native things. IT is worth the drive to the end of fruitville road.

Why buy exotic plants at Home Depot, that you have to water continuously or they just die in the hot Florida sun? Why? I’ve populated my yard with Florida natives, all from this wonderful nursery, and I’d had a ton of fun doing it. I have butterflies all around and the plants love the hot sun of Florida. If there is a freeze, they come right back. After all, they are native plants so they like it here, just like we do! The ladies here are always helpful but they are also happy to let you take your time to explore. It’s a large nursery with a wide variety of native plants. It’s worth the drive and use a GPS, as you may not find it otherwise
