Late Breakfast Review This place has a separate late breakfast menu with a decent amount of options. I had the San Antonio scramble. It was fine but nothing that gets me excited. They offer bar seating, normal tables inside, and a few tables outside. I did like the homey feel this place had.

If you want amazing food in Saranac Lake, this is your place. My fiancé is from Saranac Lake and he introduced me to Blue Moon café. I actually asked if we could return tomorrow! The food came out in a timely manner, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very«homey.» I loved the unique coffee cups(they really gave the home-esque feel). The bread is obviously made in-house, if not local, and it was toasted just right. They have a variety of selections for the vegetarians, the meat-lovers, the detailed eaters, and the«basic» breakfast eaters alike. I LOVED it here!

Such a great experience. Ken shared so much information about the variety of cheese and perfect wine pairings, with constant consideration of our preference. Such personal and professional attent ion is hard to come by. There is no better place for wine and cheese in 100 miles. So fortunate to have this place in this town.

This place is ok. Service was really slow. Kinda of a mess as well. Tones of dirty tables and food on the floor. I got a chicken sandwich and the chicken was tough. My husband got a burger medium and it came out rare. Waitress disappeared for a while so we couldn’t send back the burger… finally got the check and got out of there.

We stopped in around 3:30pm on a Wednesday for lattes and cookies. Food and drink was great but service organization and friendliness was a bit lacking. I recommend the shortbread chocolate chip cookie. It was truly delicious.

Went here for breakfast. Service was ok. Food was good(had a breakfast with eggs, polenta and ratatouille. .that was a first and it was good). Coffee is self serve which is an interesting touch. Makes it easy to get refills. If you’re looking for a family restaurant this place is awesome. If you want more upscale atmosphere, go to left bank café.

The staff was rude, the service was slow and the food was overpriced for the quality.

came here for lunch and breakfast on separate days and enjoyed both immensely. Extremely good baked goods made fresh daily. The blueberry crumb cake was moist, sweet and salty. The avocado scramble was also very unique; smooth texture and just enough vegetables to make you feel healthy. For breakfast, the pancakes were fluffy and a little heavy but worth the carbs! The blueberries and chocolate chips added to the flavor! Make sure to order the salmon plate on a bagel! The salmon was very fresh, just enough cream cheese and capers to add a salty touch. The free coffee and tea bar is such a great addition to the food. The service was really fast despite the crowd. Saranac really benefits from a place like this!

We came in for a late lunch on a Monday. The Mediterranean egg scramble was delicious; home fries were dry. My friends said their sandwiches were tasty. However, every time I’ve come here, the service has been excruciatingly slow.

Tapas Night was great. My wife and I had all of them. They were filling and delicious. It felt like being in Spain.

I used to go here everyday for breakfast when I lived in Saranac lake 15 years ago. I made a point to stop by recently while visiting the area. This is by far the best coffee and breakfast place in the region, and may be my all time favorite. It’s even better now then I remembered. Delicious. Go here!

Never mind the rough exterior and the not so shoveled walk. This place is a jewel in the somewhat tarnished crown of Saranac Lake in winter. Even though we came in minutes before they closed on Sunday afternoon, we were not rushed at all. I ordered the chicken Caesar and my date had the BLT. I’ve had hundreds of chicken Caesar salads all over the country and this was among the very best at any price. The dressing was not too strong, the croutons and lettuce were crisp and the chicken was hot off the grill and cooked to tender, cheese melting perfection. The BLT receives similar marks from my mother«It was the best BLT I’ve had since your grandmother stopped making them 20 years ago». Now that’s high praise. Go give it a try and see for yourself.

We came in for a late lunch and opted to sit at the table near the window, where we could do some people and scenery watching. It was a good choice, because we had way too much time to do that before we could place our order, even though we had been greeted, seated, and given menus immediately. I think a lot of the reason the reviews vary a lot is the inconsistency of the service. Of the 2 waitresses working today, one was clearly more enthusiastic than the other. In fact, after we had been sitting for about 8 minutes, I overheard the more enthusiastic waitress say, «Don’t you have customers at that table?» to our waitress. We had also never been told the daily specials nor given water. Since I knew I wouldn’t have time to stop at the Lake Placid Pub & Brewery today, I was glad they had a few selections on their menu here, which featured a decent number of beers and wines. I felt the burgers and sandwiches were also slightly inconsistent, but not bad. Sandwiches come with kettle chips and pickles. The reuben was large, but the sauerkraut was very sour. My burger was cooked to order, but it was served on panini bread, with the cheese I ordered, but nothing else — no lettuce, tomato, or other toppings. Yet this burger was $ 4 more than a specialty burger I had had just the day before at a diner closer to home… was I paying for the privilege of eating it in downtown Saranac Lake? I do like the atmosphere here, and I also liked their«late breakfast» menu served all afternoon; I probably should have selected something from that. The location is also quite convenient, both for strolling around downtown, and because it is right across the street from a large municipal parking lot.

Great food for an amazing price! I highly recommend going to breakfast! That’s where you’ll get your money’s worth! Lunch and dinner isn’t to much to go crazy over but hey, it’s a café so sit and chat for a bit!

I love the menu they offered. It’s a great place to get a nice hearty breakfast in the morning. I had the eggs Benedict with crab cake topped with fresh spinach, and my husband had eggs Benedict with ham. The flavor was pretty good and I especially love their homemade English muffin. However, my potatoes are barely cooked. I guess that morning was too busy. If I had a chance to go back again I will update my review.

This place was an alright coffee quick-stop on our way through Saranac Lake. My sister and I assumed that since it was a café, it wouldn’t be weird to just go in for a cup of coffee. We immediately felt some pressure to order food because both the hostess and waitress insisted on giving us menus and asking if we were planning on ordering food, even after we told them we were just getting drinks. My sister got a cappuccino, and I just got a black self-serve coffee. The coffee was pretty standard, nothing special. Probably a little too bland and Keurig-esque for somewhere that claims to be a café. The cappuccino was also pretty standard according to my sister. As for the location and décor it was cute, a nice«local» vibe was going on which I liked. Overall, this was a pretty forgettable stop on our vacation adventure, maybe if we had ordered food it would have been a bit better, ah well!

This restaurant came highly recommended, but the two dishes we ordered were extremely oily and poorly seasoned. Service was also slow and I had to ask for my check. When I finished my dish there was a pool of oil covering all the lettuce and the lettuce tasted like it was on its last leg. Won’t be going back.

Awesome breakfast joint! Great selection of teas and self-serve coffee. I came here two days in a row on my lake placid vacation and got blueberry Irish oatmeal the first time and cinnamon raisin French toast the second. Service is pretty quick and they’ll let you linger if you’re dreading going back out into the cold. There are local artists features here and I guess they have live music once in a while. Gotta pay extra if you want real syrup but it’s worth it! Their egg dishes are on par and there’s so many to choose from. My boyfriend got the San Antonio and the ranch house breakfast the next day. Both were delicious!

We ate here two days in a row. It was an adorable café, full of locals as well as vacationers. I am from NYC, so when i go to small towns like this I need to keep in check a few things such as service will never be as fast… and well… things are just different! However I really enjoyed this café. I think they had a great menu where there was something for everyone to eat at any time of day. I love how this place has a ‘coffee bar’ of sorts where you get up, grab a mug, and make your own coffee… we do not need too much of that at restaurants in NYC. But it gave me that warm small town feeling. The food was ok. I think they just need to learn how to season their food. A lot of the stuff I ate was bland and lacked flavor. From sandwiches, to watered down soups, and breakfast foods. A little pepper goes a long way!
