I walked in at 12:30 on a Sunday, sat down and waited for service. Perhaps someone to ask if I wanted water? Nope. Not sure what they were doing but not serving. I noticed other people also sitting at tables and not eating. I ain’t got no time for that! How is it that a place cannot understand he basics of a restaurant. Greet people, give them water. Serve bread or chips if you need to buy time. This will keep you ravenous customers from walking out like I just did.

This place has the best breakfast burritos I have ever had. We’ve been coming here for over a year and not one brunch has been off. The breakfast burrito, breakfast quesadilla, or the skillet are the best items.

I don’t always eat vegetarian, but their veggie sandwich is awesome. Great texture, fresh veggies, and lots of flavor. Peppers, mushrooms, onions, zucchini and spinach with melted jack cheese

Found this diner just by coming across it on Folsom Street, after discovering that Elite Audio café no longer makes sandwiches. My cousin and I were in the mood for sandwiches, so when we saw this place was a breakfast and lunch diner, we were so excited. We both ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomato, on sourdough. It was beautifully presented and it was just as delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted and the cheese was melted like grilled cheese should be. The tomato and bacon added the perfect depth of texture and flavor. It was by far, the best I’ve had a very long time. Definitely coming back and I love how I didn’t find this on Unilocal, but rather by simple basic walking!

Came in for late lunch/brunch on a Sunday, the place was totally empty, which was a bit scary. We ordered a club sandwich and French toasts. The portions were big — definitely a surprisingly good price/quantity ratio for this neighborhood. Quality-wise, it ranged from OK to good. The Caesar dressing that I ordered with the side salad was meh but the French toasts were good and came with small slices of strawberries and bananas. It’s very likely I’ll come back again to try out a few more things.

I’m a little conflicted about this place … several co-workers and I have eaten here at least 6 times in past couple of months, and it seems the quality of food is on the descent — for example, in no particular order: We had the Belgian waffle and the pancakes … the waffle was softer than the pancakes ! Today ordered waffle«crisp» and it turned out fine — but do you need to order a waffle crispy to have it the way it should be made ?! Omelette was filled with goodies, but was cold and the shredded cheese wasn’t even melted. Strange, because the plate was hot as heck when delivered as were the potatoes. Sent it back for«melting» and it returned with cheeses still not melted and plate hot ! Microwaved ?! Hmmmm … a simple minute under broiler would’ve worked. And speaking of potatoes, they are just that — wedges of potatoes. No onions, peppers, zucchini — nothing added for flavor or appearance. Like a bunch of potato wedge fries. Not good.(But THEY were hot!!). If you’re thinking of the hash browns instead, they are(I’ll bet $ 20 …) frozen patties. Not fresh shredded, or even frozen shredded — just frozen potato patties. Toast has been hit or miss — buttered well, but half the time not really toasted(to the point of being limp) or half the pieces are toasted and half are not. We usually order the iced tea which is good and served with a lemon, but they rarely bring the sweeteners without someone asking. Servers rarely check in with you either, leaving you waiting for something they forgot to bring or need to have addressed(like a cold omelette). If I sound a little harsh, it’s because it was not always like this. That’s why we keep coming back, but today(all those things mentioned were last couple of visits) may have been the last chance. Not sure why simple items are not prepared properly, but it doesn’t matter in the end — not worth the money in the long run. May try again a month or two from now, but they need serious help. Never really busy(from 9 to 10:30) at most has been no more than 8 people in a large well presented restaurant. I hope they can straighten the ship. Good menu items, nice and clean ambience, but with poor food preparation I gave two stars(after waiting weeks to review and look for trends …).

Zesty is my new go to place for Breakfast. They deliver(2.00 fee) and there is no minimum. So good, and they open at 7am. This is exactly what i’ve been wanting. Delivery breakfast that doesnt take a million years to get to you and is good and a decent price. I actually tried it because a client used to have their office lunched catered by them everyday and it was always good. Impressive food, and the variety is great.

Absolutely love this place! Actually never have eaten here, but my co-workers and I use Postmates every weekend to order breakfast down the street. Every single time, the taste is absolutely delicious and we can’t refuse to choose any other breakfast place in the area. It’s always consistent and definitely our favorite spot! Also, prices are super affordable. My favorite mean is the Chicken Fettuccine Pasta! I’d recommend this place for any breakfast/brunch lovers :)

I love this restaurant the corned beef hash is one of my favorites. We went there on a Thursday and it was really busy. The waitress was polite and fast. The coffee was hot and never a empty cup. Prices were moderate and I think really fair for this part of town. I will definitely come back in July when I have to spend a couple of days here. I cant figure out why this business advertises with Unilocal since there are so many good reviews that Unilocal has filtered. They will probably filter out this good review.

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I think this place has a depth perception problem. What I mean is that the owners appear to want to run a successful restaurant here but appear to be in need of guidance to make it happen. They tried before to become a party central complement to Jamber and Zero Zero with an Asian-accented Cajun-style food complete with plastic bags of seasoned shrimp and crawfish. However, it quietly closed as the owners appeared to seek another guise while keeping the name. Thus, the Zesty Restaurant was born, I presume, and they couldn’t have found a more nondescript identity. I came one Saturday morning when I was looking to have some breakfast in the area. I wasn’t feeling overly picky, so I thought I’d give this place another shot. Not a single customer in the place, and it was around 11AM. The server didn’t seem to be in a particular hurry to come to my table either. They have a pretty standard breakfast and lunch menu, so it was lucky I was feeling pretty standard at the time. I ordered the $ 12.95 Veggie Omelet, with mushrooms, chunks of tomatoes, onion, spinach, zucchini, and a combination of cheddar and jack cheese with a dollop of sour cream, all of which I would have expected from a large three-egger. Although I could have gone for a fruit side, I went for the hash browns which looked like they came direct from the frozen package, and also the wheat toast(photo: ). Did I have any complaints about it? Not really, in fact, I was rather impressed with the size of it. On the table was a culture clash of sorts. Vietnamese hot sauce and fresh salsa, so there was an East-meets-South-of-the-Border thing going on there. The server never came back for a refill of my coffee bill but did finally remember to leave me the check when I waved my arm at him in a futile fashion. No «have a nice day» sentiments from the staff here, so I guess my business was not all that important to them. Even though I found my omelet was decent, I guess I’ll just wait for the third reincarnation of Zesty before considering a return visit. I wonder what that’ll be… Zesty Colonics perhaps?

I can only speak for the grilled cheese with bacon and tomato and my fiancés egg salad sandwich, but they were tasty. The coffee was decent, better than most diner coffee. Prices were decent and cheaper than most of the other lunch places near here.

Really solid breakfast food at a reasonable price! The food is nothing fancy, but it’s very decent and well cooked. If you’re looking for a pleasant and hearty breakfast, this place is a good choice. $ 11 breakfast combos come with choice of protein(bacon, ham or sausage), eggs and a waffle. I come here on my way to work sometimes, not normally a breakfast person :) Their fresh OJ is a bit pricey at $ 5.00 a glass though, would recommend knocking that down a little.

How do you mess up a turkey sandwich? Zesty Restaurant found a way. Don’t bother!

Woefully understaffed on Sunday at lunch time. Took us as a party of 4 over 40 minutes to get our food and they had run out of sourdough bread by noon.

I want to leave zero stars for this… sadly, this cannot be done. I didn’t know that Seared RAW Chicken(See pictures) was an option for the Crispy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. oh wait, it’s not? Oh, it’s not good to eat raw chicken? Well, that’s what I was served when my company ordered from Zesty Restaurant through Eat24. I had one bite of the sandwich, and discovered that the chicken wasn’t even warm. The chicken was literally seared, with the inside completely raw. I can’t imagine how they let this get past them, if you look at the picture of the chicken it looks like it was just microwaved for 1 minute. This was really disappointing, as I’ve never encountered such poorly cooked food. I’ll be sure my company, and friends, never orders from here again.

They have a bit of an identity crisis happening here, and could use a little help in the curb-appeal and branding departments, but I really like them. Went here for lunch with some co-workers and we all enjoyed our meals(my quesadilla was fantastic). The service was extremely attentive and accommodating as well. I was sad for them that more people weren’t eating at the restaurant when we were there for lunch. It’s always tough getting a crowd in for a new restaurant. But the food quality, service, and comfortable interior are right there.

Stopped in for some food while my friend was getting their car serviced up the street. Over priced & horrible service. The manager/owner is nice but doesn’t make up for the lack in service. The waitress couldn’t even comprehend us asking the simplest questions. If you can’t speak or understand English, why are you a server?! The cook even came out to ask yet our order was still wrong. I didn’t think scrambled eggs with spinach was complicated. They claim to have«fresh» fruit on dishes, yet I got soggy old fruit on my French toast. Gross. And definitely not worth it.
