Pretty disappointing trip to Wing Sing. It had been recommended for great dim sum, and the décor seemed suitably dumpy. But the food didn’t live up to our hopes: the potstickers and dumplings were cold, the noodles were bland, and the meat was just average. For a block(and neighborhood) full of great din sum, we should have gone elsewhere.

I come here for their excellent steamed bao buns, and Hargao. If I’m in a hurry, and have a lot of people to feed, I’ll get some egg tarts, chinese tamales, and chicken buns. I really like the quality of the sweet buns. They’re sticky, but really well cooked. The other dim sum here is hit or miss. I see frequently that their steaming trays full of food on the opposite side of the counter have really fresh and delicious looking food, but I’ve never ordered anything from them on that site.

Their Dim Sum and roast meats here are excellent! the workers are also very friendly and they give very fast service, I plan to come back and do business again everything was very well made and fresh tasting, I like the steamed buns with sticky rice inside I checked the cleanliness of the rest room and it was well kept, everything is A — OK here, no problems!

I haven’t had dim sum for a good 8 weeks so looking at their selection made my eyes gleam! I got the egg tart and the BBQ pork pastry. Both were pretty average, but they definitely hit the spot… — Egg tart: crust wasn’t as flakey as I’d like. The custard part wasn’t too sweet and had a nice, smooth texture to it — BBQ pork pastry:(I don’t know what the real English name for it is but in Canto it’s «cha siu soh.») lots of sweet BBQ pork! The pastry was overly greasy though I also ordered a cha siu bao(baked BBQ pork bun). I haven’t eaten it yet. 1 egg tart + 3BBQ pork pastry + 1BBQ pork bun = $ 3.50, not bad, not bad at all…

5 stars for the BBQ pork. Sweet and crispy glaze that crackles as you chomp on each tasty morsel. Just salty enough to make the fat juice succulent. Get a fork and eat it out of the carton in the car. Don’t know how anything else is, don’t care. I go for the swine. Service? Don’t care. I point and somebody puts the pork into a take out container. I pay and then leave. Sometimes I get a bottle of water too. When I get scared that I could choke while wolfing down my guilty pleasure.

I guess this is typical Clement St cheap Chinese takeout that you point and pay for. BBQ pork my bf took home he said he’s had better. Not like it made him sick or anything, but he said life’s too short for doing sub-par bbq.

I had planned on coming here for lunch but after looking at what another person got for their $ 3.95 meal I decided not. It was like in the picture; a heaping plate of white rice with 2 scoops of something. I looked at my choices and couldn’t find a single thing good.

Wing Sing’s name doesn’t appear in english on the outside, just Our Court Café. take out is thru one door, dine in is another. sampling: 2 entrees with rice(3.99) –steamribs: bland –sauteed squash –o.k. –steamed pork bun(.80):dried char siu inide, probably day old, bun kind of doughy –lots of rice. –har gow(3/1.40): huge suckers, thick doughy skin, with whole small size tasteless shrimp inside –siu mai(3/1.40): huge pieces with some pork gristle and testy meats, sweet and msg tasting. one order is almost a meal! leftovers: –aftertaste. –friendly service –free parking a block away –dim sum better bargain than lunch special

The VALUE: tasty chinese take-out for less. After living in the area for nearly nine years, we came across this place and were glad we did. Since then, we stop by this joint almost once a week. Every time: fresh, more substance — less sauce, veggies have a hint of grill(yum…), the price is hard to beat. This is our choice #1 when we feel like chinese since. They may ask to charge you 50 cents for a card transaction below certain amount(can’t recall which exactly), but the place is still worth 5 stars in my book. Every once in a while, you may get a weird moment as cultures collide(ladies behind the counter aren’t necessarily english speaking), but it’s a given in this area and we are used to it… besides, sense of humor helps, and makes it even fun. The bottom line: out of all the chinese take-outs we’ve tried on and around Clement Street, this is our favorite. Keep up the good work!

Another steamed chicken bun review(it’s been awhile). Wing Sing is the newest takeout dim sum shop on Clement, taking over the Our Court Café space. When you walk in, the steam tray food is on the right and the dim sum is on the right. They also have BBQ items in the window(e.g., hanging ducks). The paper menu(which says Our Court Café on it) is in English and Chinese. Not all the items are in English, e.g., the congee/jook isn’t listed. They have rice tamales, egg custard tarts, rice rolls, etc. Steamed buns are 80 cents and up; dim sum is 3 for $ 1.40. Steamed chicken bun(80 cents): * Bun dough: decent though a little soggy, tries to be smooth but a bit crinkly, slightly sweet * Filling: The chicken comes in tiny pieces, tightly packed. The flavor is okay but not as good as Clement Restaurant or Wing Lee. * Temperature: Served warm Their buns are huge and a good value. The combination bun($ 1.30) is enormous with a HUGE ball of chicken meat, Chinese sausage, hard boiled egg and shitake mushrooms. The steamed pork buns(with cabbage) are tastier than the chicken ones. The har gow was average, with a thicker and oilier shell than usual, tender but small shrimp and bamboo shoots. They had two types of congee: chicken or pork. The pork and preserved egg congee was very thick, sweet and lacking in flavor. Cash only of course.

We accidentaly walked into this restaurant when we were looking for food. But man, what a find! First of all, the food looked good. They have many selections to choose from. From crunchy fried chicken to stuffed bittermelon. If you are in for lunch, you can get a big meal served in clear plastic containers to-go. The meal comes with your choice of rice, chow-mein, chow-fun, or steamed rice and two items for less than four bucks. Not only does the food look good, it tastes good too. You can also buy by the pound. I’ve been here twice and so far it has not failed me yet. You just cannot beat good quality with great taste. Not to mention the service. They were extra friendly, the only thing is that many of them can’t speak english that well but that shouldn’t be a problem. Wing Sing… please don’t change your prices soon!

Sometimes you learn the hard way that Good Luck Dim Sum is closed on Tuesdays. When that happens, you can go a couple blocks down Clement to Wing Sing. They’ve just opened, and while it doesn’t match Good Luck Dim Sum, they’re trying to beat them on price. My egg rolls were cold, but the dim sum wasn’t bad. I was intrigued by the non-dim sum offerings, which might be worth a trip for a sitdown meal later.
