Wine and Wall is a beautiful venue for a smaller(think approximately 50-ish) group of people. It really is an excellent location for a wedding reception, which is the reason for my review. On top of that, because they are located adjacent to One Market, who caters for their events, they also have very delicious food. Very unfortunately, that’s where my positive review ends. As I mentioned, my experience with Wine and Wall started and ended with my wedding dinner/reception. The coordinators for our event were accommodating and thorough in their responses from the beginning of our planning, however; something went wrong towards the end where some of the communication just didn’t quite happen in the way that I would have liked. The first big issue was with our photobooth. When we were originally deciding, the vendor asked us to check to ensure that Wine & Wall would even allow us to have one on-site. The coordinators told us that it wouldn’t be a problem, and didn’t put forth any additional requirements for having the photobooth. That was more than two months before our wedding. The Friday before our wedding, the coordinator told me that the landlord was requesting liability insurance for the photobooth, which I asked the vendor to send to W&W. It wasn’t until two days before our wedding that I heard back from the coordinator telling me that not only was the photobooth vendor’s insurance not sufficient(they required a $ 2 million policy, $ 5 million in some areas of the building), but that the vendor wouldn’t be permitted to set up and tear down the photobooth while we had guests on site. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that businesses have rules and policies that they need to follow. That was definitely not my hang-up. What was upsetting was the way that these policies were communicated to me, literally two days before my wedding, leaving me even more apprehensive than I already was, and scrambling for a solution. Luckily, I hired a fantastic photographer/photobooth vendor who was happy to work with us in finding a solution. After the frustration of the photobooth had died down and we made it to our big day, tied the knot, and were enjoying ourselves at our reception, we noticed that the servers were pouring the wine like it was water, not even asking our guests if they wanted any. They were topping people off left and right– there were full glasses of wine on every table that nobody in our party was even drinking. I actually don’t think I saw them pour any water for our guests in comparison to the amount of wine that they were serving. And proceeded to charge us for all of it at the end of the night. Possibly as a result of the servers pouring the wine like it was water, and as the final straw to officially kill all hopes of W&W getting any kind of a decent review, management pulled my husband and I aside around 8:30p.m. and tried to tell us that our group of 40 people had drank more than 150 drinks, that they were going to cut us off from the bar and start serving soda and water for the rest of the night(we had the place until midnight). They also claimed that several of our guests had broken a couple of glasses(which, I’m sorry, is bound to happen when you have a venue that has all hardwood floors and there are children present). We didn’t have any unruly people, nobody was destroying any form of property, nobody was acting belligerently or even appeared to be mildly intoxicated. I really wanted to like this place and give them a good review. If I were a guest at my own wedding, I probably would have rated it much higher, as I wouldn’t have known how the bride and groom were actually being treated. That said, I would strongly recommend that you proceed with caution if you are looking into booking this venue for any kind of event that has meaning to you. Disappointed.

This place ruined my wedding night. I am truly conflicted about wine and wall. I was the groom at a wedding reception. The two stars are for the food. The food was great, kudos to the chefs. The problems: 1st. for a photobooth the landlord requires the photobooth owner to have about 2 million in insurance. That was a big hassle. We weren’t told about the insurance requirement until about 2 days before the big day and had to scramble to figure that all out. 2nd… me and my newly wed wife had the place booked from 6pm to 12am, only to have the management talk to me at 830pm saying our party of 40 were too drunk to serve. That was a huge buzzkill on my wedding night. But! if you’re ok with your family being told they’re drunks… sure, this place is good. So if your family\group aren’t drunkards you may like this place. Unfortunately my family are a bunch of clutses who break glasses and are therefore drunks. So this place ruined my wedding night.

***************************** 1,074 ******************************* Wine & Wall is located literally behind One Market Restaurant. The entrance is on Steuart Street, between Mission and Market. If you valet with One Market, it’s a few steps up on your right. It’s very easy to find, so I don’t understand why other Unilocalers have a hard time to locate it. We came here for a private event Perrier-Jouët Champagne event, Wine & Wall was such a cute and intimate place, a big room, with a few high top tables. The wall is literally walled with wines inside, dim lighting, wooden walls, spacious big room. This is more for a private event, then a wine bar and shop. However, it’s such a cute little place, I wouldn’t mind to come back to check out their wine by the glass. Our food was catered and I didn’t know where it was from until I saw Chef Mark Dommen walked in to say hi, the food was by by One Market Restaurant. What was served to us: — Risotto balls, — Beef sliders were very juicy — Tuna tartare on cracker was good, — Glazed chicken wing(deboned) was so tasty, — Cheese, charcuterie, raisin, nuts, olives, etc. and more food, all was good. Service was good, everyone was attentive to our group. Even when we asked for the ladies room, 1 of the server, showed us to the One Market washroom. Good thing we valeted our at One Market, so it worked out perfectly! I’ll be back! Wine & Wall is a good addition to this part of town, something refreshing, a bit different for the winos.

Was in SF for a business meeting and our hosts setup a private dinner here at Wine & Wall. The dinner was set up in advance and consisted of the following elements: Pre-dinner Wine Tasting w/Cheese, Bread, Meats Salad Filet w/Mashed Potatoes, Spinach Chocolate Cake w/Whipped Cream Wine was also served throughout every course. There was 26 of us in the dinner party and they easily handled us keeping us engaged throughout the Wine tasting… that’s hard to do. Food was pretty good… I wouldn’t say excellent. The highlight was the dessert… very sweet & rich… yum! Service was outstanding and the ambience was awesome. Our group had a blast. Return Factor — 75%

Great place for wine connoisseurs with a great location on the edge of SF’s FiDi near Embarcadero. The set up is a single room with a huge selection of wine for private tastings or regular bar outings. The physical layout and feel of the place is absolutely stellar. However, the service was alright and there isn’t much seating. Rented the place out for a private event and had slightly higher expectations but overall a good experience.

Strange little place… but great location to get together for a glass of wine; especially if you’re waiting for your table next door. They have a quirky list of wines to choose from, but you can choose several pour sizes from taste to full glass. They also do flights. Definitely not your typical bar scene. This place is good for true enophiles, or those looking to avoid the noisy bar environment. They close early, which is a bummer. I would like to hang out here and have more than just a glass after work.

Very cute new wine spot. The set up looks like a winery shop from Napa with gifts and wines to buy and bright lighting. We went here for a HH and they offer half glasses as low as $ 4, and full glasses as low as $ 9. Great so you can try a variety of wines. There’s not a ton of seating but there are a couple large tables. the cheese and fruit plate was pretty tasty. Will be back! Hope it never gets too crowded.

LOVE this place! The wine selection is great and you can either buy a bottle to drink there($ 5 corkage) or you can take it with you! They also have wines by the glass. I work in the building, so it couldn’t be more convenient. There are a couple things I wish it did have; 1 — wine delivery… can you imagine sitting at your desk and calling down there for a wine delivery?! #GENIUS 2 — a few more food options. Maybe a full cheese plate with 3 – 4 cheeses. 3 — Lovesacks. Yes, I said it. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to have SUPER comfy loungey/living room furniture in a wine bar? Other than that, this place is awesome and you should try it out.

Was visiting San Francisco this past weekend. Friends took me to this wine Spot. All I can say is it was amazing. Great vibe and even better wine list. It is now on my must visit when I go to San Fran.

This place opened just a few days ago inside the One Market building – next to One Market restaurant. We stumbled in as we were on our way to dinner. The décor and ambiance is simple but inviting. The wine list offers a nice variety and is expected to grow. The prices are extremely reasonable. In addition to tastes they also offer wines for purchase at a discount. We picked up a bottle of Granacha for $ 10. The managing partners were very genuine and friendly. A great spot to visit and have a glass of wine after work!
