I went to go get a hair cut at Vaso’s Hair Design a few days ago and I was impressed with Masako’s job. She’s so great! — Masako pays attention to your request and works together with you to get what you want. — She takes time and really cares about the detail. — She gives you some tips and tricks for you to style your hair. — She gives you a nice massage at the end on the shoulder, neck and head area. It’s so great! More great stuff: — Reasonable price: $ 55 + tip for shampoo, haircut, and styling. — Parking around West Portal area is easy. Look for a spot on Portola for 2 h free parking. — She takes credit cards.(Master and Visa) — It’s convenient that I can communicate through e-mail, too. Masako’s hours at Vaso’s Hair Design: Tue– Sat 10:00AM to 6:30PM(By appointment only and it seems like the time can be flexible.) (415) 902‑2435

The stylist honored my wishes and gave me a quick, simple, no-fuss haircut with which I am actually happy. However, I wish they would take credit/debit cards. Cash-only is a bit outdated!

Sorry, very disappointed. The owner Vaso is not a good hairdresser. Way over priced for her work. However for the 70+ age group, they are okay. For young ladies… sorry go elsewhere. I have beautiful long wavy hair, with full of volume and she really screwed up. I had uneven layers, the highlights were not what I asked for. Like Ryan said… it’s old school and they need to refresh their skills, also the owner is real crappy to her employees. She would talk crap about them while I was getting my hair done, and honestly, they are what keep her business alive. I just won’t go there again. Sorry.

A quick haircut. The stylist listened to majority of what I asked, however with a single visit, I didn’t expect much. I bet if I went more often, I would get the true hair cut that I desired. Parking is not the greatest.

Vaso’s is a nice small Hair Salon in West Portal that emphasizes quality. Both my mother and I have been getting our hair cut by Gohar here for years. She, and the others, always are meticulous in giving you exactly what you want, for a very reasonable price. One thing I’ve noticed whenever I go there is that there are not very many young people(early 20’s-30’s) who go there, but dozens of older women. It’s not a «trendy» or «chic» place to be(in fact the décor can only be described as 90’s throwback), but all the older ladies know that this is the place to get your hair and nails done, because of the quality and excellent pricing! :D

I’m usually quite a picky person when it comes to my hair, I’ve tried about 15 different hair stylist/barbers within the last year, just to be disappointed one after another, I asked my girlfriend to find a place nearby work, and it was within half a block of my work. I walked over to be greeted by Sandy. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first, but after a few minutes of watching, him work, I decided that I found my new spot. Best haircut hands down, besides my pops of course.

I just got back from Vaso’s, and my do I love my cut and highlights! Don’t be fooled by Vaso’s Nineties Décor – this place knows what it’s doing! As soon as I walked in, Sandy began sharing his ideas and showing me styles he thought I should go for. Before I knew it, an hour and a half had gone by after one of the most personal – and precise – haircuts I had ever had. I left extremely satisfied and appreciative. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Vaso’s is located just off the M in WP(West Portal). This location could not be more convenient for MUNI access. The Salon is old school San Francisco, is a good way though! Miguel Vera is talent that I choose to visit for my hair needs, whether that means colors, cut or waxing. I have fine and natural blond hair. Anyone that has blond hair can understand how difficult it is to find talent that can accommodate. I have been following Miguel for many years and will not stray because of his talent. I continuously recommend Miguel’s artistic abilities because of his price as well. Miguel does not charge a Rodeo or Castro price. Miguel offers a relaxing experience rather than an awkward conversation between scissors. I think I have about three or four weeks Miguel. See you soon!

I just started going to Vaso’s hair salon and it’s a cute place. It’s not super modern but it’s homey and spacious. I went there because I had to follow my follow my hairdresser Miguel Vera. He had been doing my hair for years and is very creative. I have been everything from a brunette to a redhead, depending on the season. I would follow him to the East Bay if I had to but I am happy he’s here in San Francisco. If you go to Vaso’s and have Miguel do your hair, you’ll never see another hairdresser again!

I originally started going to Aieda(I don’t know how to spell her name!) over three years ago when I needed a good color and cut for my wedding. She ended up doing a beautiful job on my highlights and cutting my husband’s hair. For my long, straight hair, I didn’t really care for her cutting style but I have to give the salon four stars because she’s so incredibly nice and she cuts my husbands hair every couple weeks and always does an excellent job. We’ve been with her for several years and she always remembers who I am and asks how we’re doing, how our baby’s doing, etc. She’s really sweet and does a great job on men’s haircuts.

One person sums up my experience at Vaso’s Hair Design…“Shelly” After a brazilian wax and aroma massage at Dimitra’s(324 West Portal Ave), I needed a manicure and pedicure badly. I refuse to go to any nail salons on Ocean Avenue any longer. I strolled up West Portal Ave in hopes of finding a salon that was close to Dimitra’s. I had a good parking place, I did not feel like venturing too far up the Ave. Lo and behold, I saw Vaso’s. I approached the receptionist and she directed me to «Shelly» who miracles of miracles on a Friday afternoon had no customers. Shelly was very polite. I told her I needed a manicure and pedicure. She invited me to sit down and offered me some water. The first thing that made me say that Vaso’s and Shelly are my new nail place, was when Shelly pulled out a fresh vacum-seal sugical pack of nail tools(a cuticle mover, a clipper, etc). West Portal Nail Salons are an upgrade for me. I had been going to salons that will go un-mentioned because I contracted a nail fungus infection of my toes from on of them. I have been dealing with this fungus for quite a few years now. I am really sensitive about my feet. I avoid getting them done because I don’t want them to get worse. I am not taking a phamaceutical to get rid of the fungus. I know with a professional I can grow out and manage my toe problem. I have not had a manicure in forever because I did not trust these other salons’ tools on my hands. Yuck! I received a manicure and pedicure from Shelly. This was one beauty treatment I could just sit back and relax with. I did not have to worry about any pain from pushing or clearing out the dead cuticle. It was painless. Flawless application. Efficient. I guess I have put up so long with my skin being nicked or cut. I mentioned this to Shelly. She said«that is how the infection is spread». Well I thought I was getting a deal at the Ocean Ave salons. I see I got what I paid for. For an excellent manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow wax(perfecto), $ 47.00 without tip. She got a nice tip. I have to upgrade. This is my new spot. I don’t mind sharing my gems. I checked the reviews of other salons on West Portal Ave on Unilocal.I am so glad I have found this nail salon near my new body salon. I can finish my ritual all on on avenue. This is also 5 minutes from my house. No more downtown either. Yipee.
