UCSF Obstetrics & Perinatal Specialties At Mission Bay

So far, so good.
After a couple weeks of being bounced around [Home Birth Midwife] to [Different Midwife Practice Fail] to [Calling every last practicing OB in SF] to [Trying to get into care at different UCSF office] to [Landing Here].

My care here is ongoing, so there may be updates but, so far:

–Receptive phone staff who found me an appointment and a genetic counseling appointment when they knew I had been bounced around and found sub-​standard care elsewhere that had left me in a kind of «valley of no care».

–Receptive desk staff that remembered me when I came back for my second appointment.

–NP Danielle Briggs was especially nice to me at my first appointment. She answered all my questions and for lack of a better term «Didn’t lose track of the stack». Sometimes when you have more than one issue per visit, providers eyes kind of glaze over or morph into a kind of deer-​in-​headlights phenomenon. None of that happened here and that was a huge relief in comparison to my previous experiences during this pregnancy.

–They have automated check-​in kiosks. I haven’t used one yet. But, since I do have a serious automation boner, you can bet I will poke at these in the future.

–All my questions were answered or directed to someone who could answer them. Have I mentioned that’s a big deal when you previously haven’t had that experience during a stressful time in your life?
The practice itself also gives you a hugely informative welcome book/​packet upon arrival. Yes, most of it is things you can/​will encounter elsewhere in reading about pregnancy. But, if you hadn’t done your reading beforehand, this would be hugely helpful. Also, I really like having a folder of all available services and programs relating to birth and after in one convenient place. INFINITELY more organized than the last practice I was at. And as a whole left me feeling much more relaxed.
The blood draw lab is on the same level as this practice. It had friendly technicians and desk staff.
Similarly, the prenatal diagnostic center is also in the same building, on the same floor.
So, I could have one appointment, go outside for a bit, and then come back and have the next appointment in the same building.
All compartments of this medical facility that I visited today were clean and spacious. Much appreciated.
