Food was great spices, flavors, quality. Just loved this little whole in the wall. Price is low for the quality you get. Service was sweet and genuine.

Not bad. Not bad at all. I really like this place because its cheap and quick and up to my thai food standards. They are reliable and consistent. I must say, I suggest you order pad thai or pad see ew or something like a curry because their noodle soups make my mouth so dry after as it can be pretty salty after… Everytime I come here and get a beef noodle soup, I drink a gallon of water after. Thus, just stick to the fundamentals like pad thai or a green curry– they can’t really mess that up. This is pretty cheap place– I like it!

This place is the best for Thai food when you have the urge to get some here. This is actually the closest Thai restaurant that would be near my house. Their section is great. Reasonable price for their food. The restroom is a little bit odd where it is located. You have to go through their kitchen to use the restroom. You would be able to see what they are making I the back when using the restroom. There are times that the food can be salty.

This place is amazing. We usually go for some kind of noodles, and they have several great options, but they also have a substantial menu of Thai food. The service is great — all the servers are very pleasant, and happy to educate the uninitiated(read me) on the specifics of any dish. It’s excellent for a quick/casual/delicious meal, and also great for takout

I had better similar dishes else where, but I will give another shot for other dishes. Service was decent not slow at all. Portions were big enough.

Been going here since I was 15 years old and quality is still the same! Very friendly staff who remember me and my order. Excellent happy hour($ 6 wine is a steal in north beach!).

THISMAYBETHEBESTTHAIFOOD I’VEEVERHAD!(and I eat a lot of Thai food) Came here with a friend on a rainy Sunday for lunch, and it wasn’t that crowded so we sat down right away. We ordered the Pad See Ew with beef, crunchy spring rolls, and Panang Curry. All were amazing! The Pad see Ew had great flavor, the beef wasn’t dry, and the noodles tasted fresh! The crunchy spring rolls were deep fried to perfection with silver noodles in them! The Panang was a nice thick consistency and also very awesome. I would definitely come back and would recommend to a friend! They also deliver!

Very low quality. Satai sauce is like cheap gravy with no taste. Pad thai is really too sweet and meat is over cooked, seems very old… Table is dirty Awful experience

There is nothing that stands out about Tuk Tuk. It is reliable and consistently tasty thai food. Sometimes you don’t need the bells and whistles to enjoy a resturant. This place is perfect for lunch. They have a large lunch menu which you can get a whole meal for less that 10 dollars which is almost unheard of in the city. I have had most of pad thai and curry and both are excellent. The vegetables are crisp and fresh. The only dish i had that was a little suspect was the crab. I wouldn’t recommend this but as with most places some of the dishes can be a bit of a risk. The staff was always nice and the food came out really quick. If you are looking for a quick place to grab some thai food without going through a big ordeal this is the place to check out in North Beach.

I always order the crispy corn cakes and the spicy eggplant curry. Pretty vegetarian friendly and very fast service. You can always find a table here!

I love the vegetarian eggplant with tofu dish. Everything in that dish is cooked to perfection and it isn’t too spicy like at lots of other Thai places. The service is always super fast and they are open late so this is always a quick pick for a late bite. When I lived in Northbeach I ate here at least a few times a month. Great location near Washington Square park.

Tuk Tuk has always served consistently good tasting food over the years and even though the place is small, I’ve never had to wait too long for a table. The servers are usually attentive, making sure your water is filled, and since the restaurant isn’t too big, it isn’t hard to get their attention either. This time I ordered the Tom Yum soup and it was really good. I got it less spicy and it provided the right amount of kick to complement the bit of sour in the soup. I added some steamed rice noodles into the soup to add some carbs before going out for drinks on a Friday night. The bathroom is in a strange place because you have to walk past the kitchen before you get to it. It’s clean so no complaint there.

Wow to go from a 2 star and up to a 5 star! Shows that it can just be a one time bad experience. I have to say, Tuk Tuk, you have one of the best panang curry’s out there. I absolutely love it! It’s so flavorful and has a lot of components in it that make it so great. Can’t go wrong with those deliciously crispy spring rolls either. I am so glad I gave Tuk Tuk a second chance.

I made the mistake of coming back… Summary: Bad food, terrible service, over priced, food poisoning(perhaps?) To be fair, I should have known what to expect when my party of 2 made up 50% of the customers in the café. Now my girlfriend and I are laying in bed, both nauseous, hoping we don’t vomit because of what is feeling more and more like food poisoning with every minute that passes. Now for the play-by-play… Atmosphere: If you like 90’s diner style tables(think laminate on laminate with a laminate molding), dirty floors, and torn benches(from the same diners that they dug the tables out of), then this is your place. Did I mention that we were 2 of the only 4 people there? Service: Last time was terrible. This time was worse. My GF ordered pad thai with seafood. I ordered the BBQ pork. Her pad thai came out faster than our beers(which should have said something). I waited about 10 – 15 minutes more for my pork AFTER her meal came out. What kind of restaurant can’t even pretend to cook things fresh and bring out the only 2 dishes ordered at roughly the same time? This place! Food: The pad thai was the worst we ever had. Period. The taste was akin to day old dog poop, and the flavor was night much better. It was not warm when we got it, and by the time my food came out it was down right cold. We ate about 2 – 3 bites and called it quits. We couldn’t tell what the sea food was, but I am sure that it wasn’t fresh. The only thing we could figure out was the calamari– I could have used the rings for rubber bands. My pork wasn’t bad, actually– but who on earth serves thai pork ON A SALADWITHRUSSIANDRESSING?! The salad, if you can call it that, consisted of red onion, 4 chunks of tomato, more red onion(chopped differently, probably left overs from another dish), and some chopped core of what I think may have at one point passed for iceberg lettuce. They also threw in a scoop of steamed rice shaped like a heart– the only love they put into this otherwise embarrassing dinner. The best part: When I complained about it at the end, they told me that I was wrong! For these two dishes and 2 beers– $ 33. Ugh. This location needs to be turned over. Even yet another north beach pizza joint will be better. At least fewer people will get sick.

This Tuk Tuk ride took me to Thailand! Having ordered twice from here, I am happy to say I have found my comfort call which I crave Thai food. Although I try new dishes here and there, I found one favorite that I’m going to order for a long, LONG time. Kao Kra Proa(approx $ 9 – 10): Steamed Rice with ground chicken cooked with basil, beans and onions(additional for $ 1). It also gets delivered with a heart shaped carrot slice(maybe, I imagined that) but its a cute addition. The dish itself was full of flavor, well seasoned and perfectly balanced. This is the kind of dish that I would keep ordering over and over, which may lead to extra time spent at the gym, but it is worth it. Veg Spring Rolls($ 6.50−7): Regular, crunchy rolls but I took a star away for these, because they lacked a savory addition like a baked/fried crunchy tofu. Would have loved a salty addition to this, but I am sure many would prefer it as is, full of veggies and peanut sauce. All in all, highly recommended for those days you want nothing but THE Thai :)

Called to place an order and was told that they didn’t have a driver available at the moment. Fine! Went to pick it up since the place is only few blocks away from my office. Ordered #31 and #65 and a side order of fried egg. Both dishes tasted pretty average and the entrée didn’t come with any rice. I would rather go with King of Thai Noodle if I was in any mood for Thai food again.

Yummers! I love Thai food so I was glad when I found one so close to my neighborhood. Prices are okay, but food was pretty good. Their tom kha soup is amaze. Pad kee mao was also pretty good. Also tried their pad thai of course, but that was a bit on the sour side. I love size of the restaurant. The ambiance here makes me feel really comfortable for some reason. Customer service is pretty great. Never had a problem. I actually came here before prom just because it was so close. I still remember them being extra sweet, and they even topped my Thai tea straw with a cute little flower folded from the paper straw packaging thing. I still have it as a memory from prom!

A nice small restaurant. Bright and clean. The stuff is kind. Just the portion was the smallest one compared to other Thai-Restaurants.

I’ve had takeout and delivery from here and both dinners have been delightful. When I ordered takeout Spring rolls: very fresh, crunchy Pad Thai: nicely done, noodles cooked to perfection, sauce was tasty and of the right consistency. There was nothing special here, but it was exactly how pad Thai should be. Guey Teaw Lord: wow. This dish is intense. There’s a lot going on here– mushrooms, calamari, imitation crab, noodles, and sauce. Oh! The sauce! The dark, oily, beefy sauce was so rich. I enjoyed the dish all together, but will probably go with pad Thai since I prefer a lighter sauce Papaya salad: excellent. Perfect compliment to heavy noodle dishes Portion sizes are average to slightly larger than average(I was full!!) The dining room is small and does not have much of an atmosphere(like so many North Beach places do) Service is great! I ordered takeout in the restaurant with a dog in tow and the server immediately greeted me with a big smile, promptly took my order, and brought me a glass of water. I waited outside since I had the dog and the same server brought my takeout order in just a few minutes. The order was nicely wrapped and was nicely intact when I opened it up.(Great experience!) Overall the service is great, the food satisfies my Thai cravings, and delivery is a beneficial option(I believe it requires a $ 20 minimum). I will be ordering takeout or delivery in the future! Food: 3.5 stars Service: 5 stars
