The staff here are super knowledgable and helpful. I always get what I need. It’s amazing how much stuff there is packed into their space!

The worst hardware store — in fact, the worst store on Clement. The woman who works here with the short hair — is extremely unfriendly.
I needed 10 planting pots. No one can carry all of by oneself. So I carry 4 to the counter and told her that I’d like 6 more (that’s stored in the back of the bottom shelf).
She looked down the aisle and said «it’s right there». As if I said something dumb. Meaning, for me to go grab them myself. She couldn’t help a customer get more items? What the hell?
The laziest, unfriendly, customer service I’ve ever experienced. No wonder why this place has bad reviews.
I decided to leave the store and not buy anything.
Do not shop here!

I only come here if I need to make a spare key, $ 1 each, its cheap and I never had any problems with the copies of keys I got from here. Four stars for quick and cheap service

This is a tiny little store with items everywhere. It’s hard to make sense of it and find what you are looking for. And while you are looking, the salesclerk will follow you around to make sure you’re not shoplifting. Makes for a pleasant shopping experience.

They made a few copies of my house key for me. None of them came even close to working.

I visited the store today to get a tool which i found extremely close to the register. Upon paying for the tool i was accused of stealing one of the size variations of the tool that I had picked up and returned to the shelf while deciding. I emptied my pockets to reveal that I had stolen nothing. It makes no sense to me that the clerk that was 2 feet from me the entire time i was shopping would think i was a thief.
The store has un-​shelved piles of inventory literally lying on the floor that i had to step over. I no longer find this an acceptable business to frequent.

They have a smaller store with tons of stuff crammed everywhere but that lends to the great atmosphere of this place. Bought a garden rake that adjusts from small to large fan size plus some nifty decorative wall picture hooks, love looking around at all the stuff, a perfect place for the hardware junkie. Would spend more time here if it wasn’t so hard to find parking plus cost a fortune at the meter if you can find one.

They may not always have everything you need (they are a small store after all), but they do have a good customer service and are very knowledgeable.

i went in the other day because i had a flat on my bike… i just wanted a small little pump that i could carry around with me while riding my bike, just in case. they directed me to such a thing… a «multipurpose air pump» so i buy it, first they make a deal over the fact that it costs 3.75 which is under $ 5 and i want to pay with a credit card. then i take it outside and find out that it is not, in fact, as multi-​purpose as i had hoped.
so i brought it back inside and told them that it didnt work on my bike, so i’d like to return it. they literally just stared at me for a minute. i know it sounds like im exaggerating, but i’m not. whatevs.
then she goes to void it out on the credit card machine and refused to give me a copy of the reciept. i told her that i would like a copy for proof of the void, in case it doesnt go through for some reason. anyways, she tried to tell me that there was no possible way to reprint a copy of the void, even though i told her repeatedly that yes, you can because i use the same exact machine at work 100 times a day. ugh.
[she never gave me a receipt. i gave up because the argument was going in circles.]

Their staff consists of a bunch of young punk kids. Besides that their keys are made fast and they have everything.

Compared to Ace Hardware down the street, for the same products, the trend seems to be that True Value offers them at a lower price. Rock on!
