I love to travel and learn about other cultures, so I was really excited to discover an. online community of global travelers called Tripping. For me, Tripping means the following: — No more struggling with guidebooks! I can just have a local show me around. — My years spent studying French will not go to waste; I can meet up w/travelers from France for a cup of coffee so they can get some insider tips on the city from me, and I can prevent my French from getting rusty(or rather from getting rustiER). — I can host interesting travelers in my home if I want and then visit them in their home countries. I don’t care how fancy the hotel is, there’s nothing like being a real guest and not a customer. — Through Tripping’s blog and Facebook and Twitter accounts, I can join the conversation and interact with other people around the globe who believe cultural exchange can make the world a better place. How cool is that?! -

Tripping is an online community for travelers, cultural and language exchange, and a place for tips to improve your weekend crawl around town. The website is quite simple, yet its simplicity is one of its advantages moving forward. The website is easy to navigate and use. Through it, you can find a free local host in a city that you are visiting next or that friend you just never met in another part of the world. If you need a place to stay wherever you are globally, you can find a local host within a few clicks on your mouse and put in a request for another Tripper to host you. Once they agree to host you, further details would be provided to both parties regarding the exchange. What differentiates Tripping from other travel communities online is the involvement and passion of its founders. They are readily available on the website’s discussion forums and have a genuine passion for traveling, exploring other cultures, and constant learning./knowledge. In addition, the founders have placed emphasis on the power of technology in the next generation of travel through online communities/social networking websites. Can’t wait for new updates as this site grows! Would love to see this go mobile as well since I’m a mobile/hand-held user. Recently, Tripping has«made the world a better place» by utilizing its travel community as a platform for assisting travelers stranded by the volcano eruptions in Iceland aka the ash cloud. It’s a different approach to travel and hospitality because I seldom see travel websites become makeshift emergency response centers. See their volcano page at: . I have been following Tripping through Twitter(id @trippers) and their blog at . They recently hosted a contest where the winner received«round the world» plane tickets and more contests will probably be in the horizon! Add me as a friend on Tripping and start tripping today!

Love …Super cool and fun way of getting to know other like minded people. I love to travel and take photos and I am really looking forward to not only sharing my experiences abroad with other people but also hear about there’s as well. I have been reading their blog lately and follow them @trippers and it seems as if they are doing a lot of great philanthropy work as well, which is always nice to see from a young company. Everything from raising money for soccer balls to give to African villages, to giving out trips around the world. Wow, it just makes me want to get involved and contribute. Well this will be the first of many future contributions to such a great new start-up.Thanks I wish you all the success you deserve.
