I purchased your Mungbean Sprout Salad at the San Rafael Farmers Market today. When I pulled it out of the refrigerator today I surprised to see the seaweed is dyed. The tofu pasta is green where the seaweed touched it. It was also way too salty. I purchase 90 percent, if not more, of everything I eat at the Farmers Markets in Marin. I trust the integrity of the vendors to provide food that I would make at home. I do not eat dyed food. I’ve had some of your other products through out the year and enjoyed them. I can’t trust your integrity anymore.

Time: 12:42pm/64°F cloudy Purpose: Walking around farmers market thinking about meatless and healthier fare. Came across TY. Set-up: Canopy, folding convention table, 3 metal tubs w/ice, rolling cooler, cashbox. Staff: A guy mid 20’s greeted me said what can I do for you? Offers me samples without asking. Doesn’t push up selling mellow attitude. Tells me what’s their best seller on hand. Very knowledgeable of the offerings. Cleanliness: Grade A, all vendors conditions comply. Plenty of ice packs keeping things cold. Eats/Drinks: Coconut tofu strips, quinoa salad, garbanzo beans. Each item comes in a see through container enough for one servings. The strips were delicious with hints of coconut infused sprinkle with red chili pepper flakes. Quinoa salad is good too tasted really fresh with a healthy side to it. Each pebble were loose in container not smushy together. I could’ve easily ate 2 – 3 tubs if I had to. Overall a whole new level to tasty meatless eats. Main Features: Spicy pesto wraps and coconut strips. Products/Services: Wraps, rolls, balls, salads, fried garbanzo beans, coconut strips, tofu blocks, flavored tofu of different varieties. Takes plastic. Punch Lines: Convenience, snack size, healthy, modest cost, farmers market only(check with time and location), perishable(eat within half hour for best taste and results), unlimited samples, closing time deals, most under $ 7. Tradeoffs: You don’t get the protein of real meat, but in return you’ll still have protein helping the earth and environment of pollutants from machinery use to raise animals. Final Thoughts: Sometimes I look for healthy eats when ever I’m at farmers market. For some reason I do tend to eat better compare to when I’m working or a night out. Friends would say, Al is not eating meat? A subject like that would be the talk of day. Its nothing new as I do go meatless Mondays too sometimes, its really nothing new. Its good to change up sometimes and discover what’s out there.

The tofu here is AMAZING. I’ve only had the five spice and soy cheese sushi but they were both deliciously flavored. I added the five spice to a salad and it didn’t need any dressing at all. The soy cheese sushi had the most awesome, taste bud-delighting cilantro and fresh chive flavor. If you’re the type of person who thinks tofu is a bland blob, Tofu Yu will change your mind. Check out their website for the Farmers’ Market schedule and distributors. I’m totally going back to try them all.

I love the Spicy Pasta. Sometimes, I just eat it out of the package. Other times, I make a salad of Romaine Lettuce and Cucumber. Throw in some of the Spicy Pasta and toss the salad. No more dressing is needed. It is fresh, flavored with just the right amount of spice for me. I can make 2 to 3 salads with one bag of the Pasta depends on how hungry I am.

I love the sushi! It’s organic and non GMO. The price is pretty decent too. First found out about them at the farmers market. Will come again

It’s hard to find good quality tasting tofu especially firm & flavored in my opinion. I tried Tofu Yu for the first time yesterday, went to the Farmers Market and couldn’t help but die over the samples I got their spicy coconut strips, already finished the container and as well as their 5 spice firm tofu block, can’t wait till next Sunday !!

I have only tried the teriyaki tofu sushi pack and loved it at the Stonestown farmers market — never thought tofu sushi would be so yummy!

Amazing vegan/tofu sushi. I first discovered them in the 50 Fremont Farmers Market and I’m glad I did! I never would have even thought of trying anything vegan. Even the idea of someone tainting the sanctity of sushi bothers me, but Tofu Yu does an amazing job of incorporating vegan and tofu into a delicious sushi-like snack/dish. I look forward to eating this every Monday!

The best tofu products anywhere! Great variety and excellent favors and textures. They are at Farmers Market every Sunday 8am to 2 ish at Marin civic center in San Rafael. You can sample almost everything. The toughest thing is making up your mind!

I haven’t been to the Stonestown Farmer’s Market since the Inner Sunset Farmer’s Market is closer to me, but Tofu Yu is there, too. Frankie is the best! And he’s generous with the free samples. I personally love the soy cheese sushi, quinoa sushi and spicy veggie wraps.

I get at least one package every Monday at 50 Fremont. I wont get tofu anywhere else now. All their products are delicious and the guy who runs the stand is super generous about letting you try everything. Nothing is bland and everything has an awesome flavor and great texture(no gross mushy tofu here) Its perfect for frying or even eating raw. That’s tight folks! This tofu is so freaking good, you can eat it raw straight form the package! My favorite is the 5 spice tofu. Its smoky and salty and adds an extra zing to salads and stir-fries. I also love their tofu rolls and tofu sushi. Their products are really creative and well executed. Id never have though tofu sushi would be that delicious or tofu rolls so full of flavor(basil pesto, curry, and spicy.) They also have tofu pasta which is an interesting alternative for Italian food.

I think the guy here gave us a sample of everything! He was so generous and insisted that we tried everything, and I got so full. But now I know that everything here is delicious. I loved the quinoa sushi the most, and got two packs for $ 8.

They have a booth at a farmers market on 1st near market on Monday’s from 11-ish to 5-ish. The tofu veggie balls are insanely good, lemon /coconut tofu strips are a great snack or good on top of a bed of rice. The tofu hummus makes great stir fry’s. Lately i’ve been obsessed with the tofu and quinoa sushi rolls. So freakin good. Tofu is 2 – 3 $, sushi is about 5 $, tofu strips are 3 – 5 $. Buy in bulk and he might take a dollar or two off(or I just go there too much :)).

Yum, yum and yum! I tried the tofu sushi rolls at the Grand Lake FM and they rock! It just amazes me what you can do with good tofu. Taste, consistency and presentation were all in good order. And of course, the kids just wanted to gobble down all the Toveggie balls but we had to leave some for the rest of the market munchers.

I LOVETOFU!!! I was so excited when I heard about Tofu Yu. The flavors are unique and delicious, and they’re good for snacks too. My favorites are the Spicy coconut and lemon strips. The vendor said that they can last for up to 7 days… It didn’t even take me 10 minutes to finish the whole thing. It was so addictive X_X I’d like to try the Teriyaki next time!

Tofu Yu, for me, for everyone! Another new vendor at Stonestown’s farmers market. Tofu Yu started 2 years ago in the east bay, the production kitchen is still there but their Berkeley retail store is now closed. You can find their tofu products around the east bay at many farmers markets. I like tofu and I’m a fan of Hodo Soy Beanery’s products. So after trying some free samples, I bought the veggie wraps and the veggie meatballs, priced at $ 6 per pkg. or 2 for $ 10. Prices are moderate since it’s a unique product. Hours: Sundays 9am-1pm
