I believe this is the largest gift shop along Jefferson Street, amongst many other gift shops. It will take you some time to look through it all, which I consider a good thing. There’s quite a variety of products. I bought an octopus magnet that I didn’t see at any other shop, so I’m happy!

Coast Marine has actually transformed into The Wharf Store — they moved their chandlery to the back room and their storefront now sells tourist souvenirs. This review is NOT for the tourist trap part — I have no need for SF fleece hoodies. These folks are reliable and the only chandlery on the waterfront in San Francisco. I buy my rope here, assorted parts, etc. The pricing is usually a little on the pricey side, but I will gladly pay extra if a part is within walking distance from my boat. If you have a boat at Pier 39 or are a commercial fisherman, on the wharf, check this store out before you cross a bridge or go to West Marine.

On a slow weekday, my mom and I got followed around the whole store by 2 of the workers. We don’t even look like riff-raff and these girls were practically on our heels the whole time. Just to make sure it wasn’t a coincidence I walked across the store faster. Sure enough the girl was right behind me. Rude. I told mom we’re leaving. Those girls could at least try to be more subtle. Jeez, nobody cares about your cheap souvenir t-shirts.

I stopped in Coast Marine because I was in the neighborhood and needed some cable for a construction job that I was working on. I was amazed to see the variety of hardware and clothing items that were in stock as well as the cable that I needed! The place is a cool old building right on Fisherman’s Wharf. The guy behind the counter(George) is very knowledgable and funny! It was a great find for me and I will be back next time I need a bolt or a shackle!
