I literally want my fiancé to propose to me here. This is literally one of the most amazing, romantic places I have ever been to.

Cool place to go for drinks(being an «out of towner.» On the top of the Marriott Marquis, there were some great views at sun set. Bar service with apps. I think this is a more of a drinks and view kind of place than getting something to eat. Made a very good Old Fashioned! Will return!

Great place to have a drink and enjoy SF view. It is usually too crowded over the weekend which makes it hard to find a table and order drinks. But the view from the top definitely worth trying the place at least once. We rented the place for a private party and management was very helpful in organizing the event. We had great time and may probably rent out the place again in future.

Located on the 39th floor of the Marriott Marquis hotel, this bar/lounge offers amazing panoramic views of San Francisco. I came here on a Friday night around 8:30pm and surprisingly, there were a few seats by the windows available. However, that could also be because it was drizzling outside. When we left about an hour later, it was a lot more packed. Yes, the cocktails are a little on the pricier side($ 14-$ 16), but they are strong and delicious. I got the skyline punch which was fruity and sweet, and I felt the«effects» afterwards.

Oh man to start was the amazing seating and decorations of the lounge. Very comfortable and able to find seating for one very easy, I instantly ordered a martini, and eventually had about four. Really elegant and affordable, I took some pictures with my camera as well, Fun a must go.

Popped up here to see what the View was about, but there was a bit too much rain and overcast to see anything. The location is excellent so on a clear night, you should be able to see for miles and miles. Just not tonight. Lots of meet going on in this market as well. Returning to my hotel room on the 18th floor, I got hit on by two cougars in the elevator. Uh, thanks but no thanks.

Came here on a Friday night around 11pm. As expected the place was full with no seats available. As busy as it was, there was no problem getting a drink at the bar, and eventually we found a seat at a small table for two(no view). Bartenders and Servers were all nice and attentive. Finally snagged a window seat as it got later, but as always ended up on a bar stool closer to all the alcohol. Will definitely hit The View up again, good crowd and good staff combined with THEVIEW is a can’t miss.

How does this place not have more reviews? I am a sucker for a spectacular view and my friend and I dedicated a whole day to hitting up some of the best spots to catch a glimpse of the city from all angles. While this is not a comprehensive list some of our faves include a rooftop brunch at El Techo de Lolinda, the Lyon Steps, Alta Plaza Park in Pac heights, Heron Tower at the De young Museum, and finishing up at the View Lounge in the Marriott. When you walk into the lobby take a quick right, grab the elevator, and head straight up to floor 39. You’ll have to fight off the other view hungry tourists for a window side table but good things come to those who wait. I mean that window! It’s just beautiful. Staff is friendly, our waiter Steve was helpful and gladly took our picture. The drinks are $ 14 – 18 and they have some apps/desserts on their menu as well. I got a glass of bubbly because you never need a specific reason to celebrate life. Good views, good friends, and a little bubbly really make for a perfect night. (You can also consider heading to El Faralito to stuff your face on cheap Mexican food in the Mission afterward like we did… totally worth it.)

This is the top floor lounge of the San Francisco Marriott Marquis and upon entering the lounge it’s easy to see what the draw of this place is… the view! The lounge offers an excellent view of the FiDi, SOMA and the Bay Bridge and we managed to grab some seats near the windows. We came here on Saturday night after catching a movie at the Metreon. Last time I was here was a Sunday evening and the vibe was very different. The place was completely packed this time and full of energy. If you’re looking for a trendy spot to hang out with friends on a weekend, this is it. There’s a speciality cocktail menu with drinks in the $ 14 — $ 16 price range. I tried The View Old Fashioned and Golden Gate while my girlfriend had the Moscone Mule. The drinks were respectable but didn’t match the quality available at other craft cocktail bars in the city. You’re really paying for the amazing view here.

How have I not reviewed my favorite bar in San Francisco? This was the first bar I ever came to when I moved here so it set the bar high. I return the favor and bring lots of out of towners/new residents here to take in our beautiful city. This place is usually filled with business travelers & locals avoiding the bar scene so there aren’t people stepping on my shoes and falling all over the place. It’s an intimate grown up bar where the music is always great, usually deep house/chill Edm. Being so high up and taking in all of San Francisco doesn’t hurt either… There’s a reason this place is called The View. Drink prices are modest for the ambience you get, I advise bottle service so that you get some room to stretch out. Shout out to Veronica, she’s the sweetest bar tender there and always makes the best drinks. Then if you convince yourself that you want to go out after you’re literally a few minutes from all the best night clubs. Hop in a black car and go!

Great place to enjoy the views of San Francisco but come early if you want a window seat. Good selection of beer and wine and the music fits the ambiance. I prefer sitting on the right side as you enter away from the bar and crowds. Loves the chocolate deserts.

TL;DR –Great view and atmosphere. –Pretty strong drinks, but a bit on the pricey side. One of the coolest bars you can go to in SF if you’re looking for a view. Hidden at the top of the Marriott Marquis Hotel, this bar is on the 39th floor and can offer decent city views of SF from all 4 sides. The lounge itself is fairly large, but it can fill up and get busy. Seating here is first come first serve so you’ll have to press your luck at getting a seat near the window. Another thing to note here is that if you get a seat near the window and near the walkways, you’ll have a lot of people taking photos while standing right by your table. This really ruins the intimacy of having a table for your party, especially if you’re on a date. All in all though, this place is a cool lounge without much attitude, and a great bar to just relax.

The View is located on the 39th floor of the Marriott hotel. You just have to walk past the lobby and into the elevators. This place is actually not that known in my opinion. I’ve met people who have lived in San Francisco for years and have never been here! This is the place where I try to take my friends who have never been to San Francisco. The breathtaking 360 view is surreal especially at night. Yes, this place can be packed. However, if you go here during a weekday, it’s not as bad as you think. I finally was able to sit down here with my friends and grabbed a drink. I got the Moscone Mule which consisted of vodka and ginger beer. It was pretty strong, but it was good at the same time. For someone who likes sweet drinks, this was made brilliantly. I definitely recommend coming here and bringing your friends. Be aware that the drinks are pricey but hey, you pay for the view right?

I never knew Batman lived on the 39th floor of the Marriott until I discovered the View. Every detail right down to the illuminated menus + checks is sleek and sophisticated. Drinks are club prices(around 15 for a cocktail and 8 for beer) but I’d much rather be feasting my eyes on the gorgeous SF skyline than on some twerkin’ mamas. For 15 bucks though I wish their Moscone Mule(same as Moscow mule) were served in a copper mug instead of glass. I’ve tried a few of their small plates and would suggest that you eat somewhere else. Their smoked pork belly with daikon + miso is pretty good but you only get four pieces for 18 bucks. Finding a table can get difficult on weekends but you’ll snag one in due time if you scope out those closing out. It’s hard not to feel like a baller sipping on your drink in such a swanky bar. Get a window seat and pat yourself on the back, because everyone deserves nights like this :)

The View: fancy, extravagant, elegant, frilly, lavish, and special. Looking for cocktails with fantastic views of the gorgeous city? The View has all that and the ambiance that will surely impress! Located at the 39th floor of The Marriott hotel, The View is the perfect place to hang out whether you’re chilling with your friends, getting drinks with your coworkers, or on a hot date. Service is top notch, and drinks come out quickly. Their cocktails are $ 13, which made my wallet cringe, but hey, you’re also paying for that view outside the window! Pro tip: get the Manhattan — it’s spirit heavy so it’s worth your money! ;) I’d recommend getting there right at 4pm when they open to snag a window seat. It’s first come first serve, so once all good seats are taken, you’re SOL. I noticed the people who didn’t get a window seat watch out for window seats like vultures! Cheers!

Amazing View of the city from 39th floor of the Marriott hotel! The View has two sides, one mainly facing the bay near the bay bridge, and the other side to the city hall, which was closed for private event the day we went. Getting a table could be challenging, there is room for standing but might not be ideal after a day of work. We had to look around for a few minutes and luckily got a table by the window after a group leaving, but honestly it was a bit stressful. I got Skyline Punch, tasty with rum and pineapple juice among other fruit juices. Would come back checking out the other side of the View or sunset!

The View is just that — an amazing view. It’s honestly one of the finest public vistas in the city, with a beautiful panorama of downtown, the bay and the Bay Bridge. I highly suggest taking in the sites at dusk, just after the sun falls behind the horizon. But a good view does not necessarily mean a good overall experience. I discovered this on my last visit while catching up with some old friends. No matter the day of the week, happy hour is EXTREMELY crowded. Unless you know someone or have a reservation, expect to stand around awkwardly, staring down seated guests until they leave and then racing to sit down before someone else does. And depending on where you are seated, you’ll get the benefit of being at butt level with the next round of guests hoping to claim your seats. The food is decent but comes in super small portions for the price. As one would expect, the cocktails are well-made but also a pretty penny. It’s really all about the view, and it is a spectacular one at that.

Before I start this review, must confess that I secretly dislike SF. Call it rivalry for a few SoCal resident, not certain if we are envious or just darn competitive. The majority of SoCal residents get along with SF locals but there are a few slim pickings that hold grudges. As to why visiting the SF, thats another story, occasionally I do suck it up and follow the stream. During our night of escapades, we wondered through the downtown area for a bar to start off the night. Randomly a friend of mine asked a complete stranger for a spot. He mentioned the View at the Marriott, the concept at any bar at a hotel didn’t sound astonishing to me. But at this point, any bar would be great. Prior to this we have been walking for hours and no longer had any common sense left in me. So as we dragged ourselves through downtown even more, we arrived to this lavish hotel. The main lobby was crowded with guests and tourists. Quickly jumped into an elevator that led to the 39th floor. The doors opened up to this huge dinning area. The interior was dimly lit with a bar right in the center. Couches and tables were spread over the area. But one thing that was most impressive was the view. You could see clear down to the east bay with the bridge lit up and sky scrapers blistering lights from the offices. It was one of the few moments that I was truly impressed. No longer did I despise this great city or held any kind of resentment for visiting SF. The view was picturesque with elaborate glass windows that covered up to the high ceilings. The waitress here was attentive and quite friendly. Drinks were pretty good, they have a long list of items. To end it all after a long day, this was the perfect spot, can only imagine the ambiance during sunsets. Kudos to the designer of this place.

You pay for The View. You seriously do. My husband and I were in The City and wanted to enjoy some time together. We dropped off our daughter at Grandma’s house and I was excited to go to this place. I knew it was just a drink and appetizers place and that is what we were going for. We arrived around 5pm and were able to catch a lovely table near the window with an amazing view of San Francisco. It’s a typical lounge just with an incredible panoramic view. Our drinks were good and I was surprised that our food was so delicious. We go the Crudo three ways and the Baked Laura Chenel goat cheese. It was incredible! My husband and I devoured it and even thought about ordering more. Our cocktails were good but very light. We were able to watch the sunset over the rolling hills which made our day. We needed to watch that sunset because at $ 115 for 3 cocktails, 2 local craft beers and two small plates we needed to leave with at least our hearts satisfied. Some helpful tips: –Parking is $ 30. That’s the norm in San Francisco but hey, it’s in a hotel and valet so it’s a given. –Eat a full meal prior to arriving. –Great for nice date.

Have I arrived to Batman’s Cave? I really enjoyed the overall view of the location, where you can easily spot the lit up golden gate bridge. I came on a good weekend where fogs were no where in sight and all that were visible were the San Francisco lights. I realized I don’t come up north often enough when I can’t stop staring out to the vast open sea. I digress, the drinks here were a bit on the pricy side, but again– sf is overall pricy …
