This place has some amazing street tacos for only $ 2. It is always my choice for Taco Tuesdays! Their margaritas are also pretty good.

Love love this place. Great bar atmosphere but kid friendly if you sit in the back. They have a basketball game set-up for the kids(& adults) near the back tables too. The Taco Shop can have a long line/wait most days and it’s one of those you got to squeeze by people kind of place. As long as you don’t mind rubbing elbows with someone else I can’t think of anything wrong with this establishment. The food hear is fantastic. You can’t go wrong with the nachos– all the fixings are piled high and enough for 2 people to get full. The burritos are my second favorite; not your typical flavor and burrito ingredients, but a must try to understand why this place is so great.

Who is this Nick I keep hearing about? I’m not really sure but let’s just say that Nick’s way is the only way now to do any tacos. I came here for Taco Tuesday night even though I don’t believe there was any special on tacos available… it is still nevertheless Tuesday, so tacos shall be had anyways(the law of the week). Grabbed a table in the back and sat down and was convinced to get Nick’s Way. Best choice ever! I got the carnitas tacos, Nick’s Way(thanks Nick!) and it came out looking like a mini burrito. Wow! It was delicious. Crispy tortilla with a lot of meat and a lot of guac. I added a lot of the orange and green sauce after each bite and it was even more delicious. If the carnitas was that good, what would the fish taco be like? I guess I have to find out next Taco Tuesday. ;) Cool things about this place: TVs everywhere for you to catch any sports game AND there’s a basketball hoop game in the back. Imagine trying to shoot hoops after doing a flight of tequila shots.

Allow me to introduce my FAVORITE taco spot everrr. This is probably the only Unilocal review I’ve written where I have NOTHING to complain about. Everything I’ve tried here is the . My go-to’s at this place are: 1) Baja Style tacos made«Nick’s Way» meaning guacamole included + they’re made in a crispy taco shell instead of a soft tortilla. Hands down my fav thing on the menu. 2) Shrimp Quesadillas — Sooo cheesy & delicious. My 2nd fav thing on the menu. 3) Nachos es muy Grande — I get these w/no meat & they’re still BOMBB I usually digest all this with the help of they’re house Margaritas which are YUMMMY. To top it all off, service is consistently fantastic. Food is always served in a timely fashion by friendly waiters/waitresses. They’re bartenders are also super friendly & efficient especially Danny. Ever since I’ve ate tacos at this place, no other place seems to hit the spot. I’m hooked and will refuse to satisfy by taco cravings anywhere else.

Definite hole in the wall place but so worth it. The food was excellent! Tortilla chips were a little crunchier than I would have liked but still delicious. Guacamole was perfect. Crunchy fish taco was amazing! Huge portions. House margarita was really great too. Great people watching!

My go to burrito spot in San Francisco. It’s not operated by your typical Latinos nor does it taste like your south of the border taco. What really fondles the balls is the habernero sauce that they homegrown. It has the type of spicy that makes you cry to your mother if you have enough of it. When you build up the tolerance to it and stop acting like the little kid you are, it tastes great on everything. My standard/usual order is the carne asada San Diego burrito. No beans and no rice is what I like.(Opinions vary). Also if I feel like being Paleolithic I’ll go without the burrito blunt I’ll go with the internals in a bowl, creating a carne asada salad. The salsa tastes fresh and makes you feel healthy as fuck, but too many chips lead you to a guilt trip. This place is vegetarian friendly. It has fish, shrimp and no meat options. After swinging around planet granite I end up at this joint(Eating not smoking). The bar is well stocked and when there is a home game of any sort going on, bring your ear plugs you sissy, because you’re in Northern California bitch. There are hustlers on that basketball game on the corner, I’ve seen it go past 150 points Customer Service 4⁄5 Ambience Varies Price $ 6-$ 15 Food Quality 5⁄5 Bathroom 3⁄5

The food was good but the service was absolutely horrible. We had to wait around for such a long time before a server came to help us out and we had to wait a long time before we could get someone to print out our check. Finally when my friend asked the server if we could pay and she was condescending and responded as if we were stupid. «I’ll bring you the check. You put cash or a card down and then I’ll process it» Probably wouldn’t come back here because of how rude everyone was. The food was good but there are other places with both good food and a friendly staff.

Tuesday tacos for 2.00, Carne asada from kobe beef, so tender, little cubes of deliciousness, pork, free range chicken, you actually taste the chicken flavor„ and vegetarian with Monterey jack cheese and red beans. We ate a total of 9. They were small but filling. We also had the corn, tender and sweet, requested to have it cut. No gnawing at the cobb for us, afraid the old dentures might fly out. We went at 10:30 pm, couldn’t find any open restaurants except this one. This was our third try at a spot. Great service with great recommendations. Music was loud but we actually can converse. Lots of TV screens, can’t miss sports report of Giants winning their game. Got to come back to try the quesadea.

I was lazy and got this using DoorDash. Of course, during Cinco de Mayo, I was craving tacos so I finally got around to trying this spot. I must say, I was not disappointed. I got the Mexican style street tacos with carne asada and carnitas. My boyfriend got the Shrimp taco, Nick’s way. We loved them all! Nick’s way is bomb, btw. And totally worth a try. It’s definitely a lot bigger than your normal street taco, but it’s packed with lots of goodies. Our order also surprisingly came with chips and salsa(green and red) so, needless to say, we were absolutely delighted. Look, you’re in SF. in inner sunset. You won’t find $ 1 tacos, but these are good and worth a try if you’re craving it. Will definitely be ordering again.

Tacos! This is my go to place when I get that taco craving! Baja Nick’s Way always hit the spot for me. That creamy avocado, crunchy outside layer, with that spicy salsa makes me salivate thinking about it! Perfect place to watch games, grab a drink after dinner, and just plain chilling with friends. Pros: Good Food Good Price Good selection on drinks. Basketball arcade Tables for medium and small size groups Friendly servers Con: Too loud Overcrowded at times(But lines don’t lie…)

I LOVE this place! I had always wanted to go to Nick’s Crispy on Polk & B’way but it was always so crowded or wrong time. Then someone told me about the Sunset location and it’s been one of my late-night«go-to’s» for months now — especially great when you’re a full-time rideshare driver! The Taco Shop is one of the few places in SF open til Midnight — and the prices are right. Love Nick’s Way tacos, San Diego style burrito, tortilla soup(comes in a big bowl chock full of stuff!) and their cotija-cheese-covered corn on the cob(«Elote con Queso») is pure awesomeness! Also, since I most often am coming in during the middle of my driving shift, I’m not able to drink, and it’s really nice that they have a fresh agua fresca every day — flavors have included cantaloupe, pineapple and strawberry. The Underdog’s staff is awesome — everyone is very cool and friendly and seem to enjoy working there. I’ve never met anyone behind the bar who was unkind. But I have to give a special shout-out to one, in particular: Starr. She was the one who helped me on my very first visit, and many times since, and is AMAZING! What a great person she is, always makes me feel special when I’m here and always stops to talk. Big extra reason I like coming here! Kudos to owner Doug and the entire Underdog’s crew for a job well done!

Middle of the week and we were hit with one of the warmest days so far this year. Like no lie, my boyfriend and I were outside at 9pm without a jacket and we were still fine. And warm nights apparently called for beer and tacos so we took our butts to Underdogs. Located on Irving, parking could be a pain if you decide to come here before 6pm. Any later and maybe you’ll have good luck? My boyfriend and I struggled a bit and ended up parking 4 blocks away but it was a nice night so we’re not complaining. We were super confused right off the bat. I knew that Underdogs was part of a bar but I didn’t think it would all be mixed together. I thought there would be a separate window for tacos, but nope. There are tables all the way to the back that are first come first serve if you wish to sit back and enjoy your food. Service was amazing. I am super grateful for Magz(here’s hoping that was her real name on the receipt) because I told her it was our first time there and we were confused on how to go about ordering food as that was the main goal and she broke everything down for us and told us the top choices for food(including doing it Nick’s way) as well as gave us a drink menu just in case. She was patient and even continued to check in on us after we were seated. And upon hearing it was our first time, she gave us some free chips and salsa! Bless her for working there, she’s my favorite already. The food was definitely a bit pricey. But then again it’s located in San Francisco so I have to try to understand that. My boyfriend and I both got their 3 tacos plate with carnitas, carne asada, and chicken and then I added an order of the elote which the kitchen ended up splitting in half so both my boyfriend and I got our own piece. The food was all good especially with their salsas, the only downside really was that the chicken was sort of dry. If anything, we’ll probably stick to the carnitas or carne asada tacos next time. Overall, good eats for a warm night! It does get super loud in here with the music blasting but who needs to hear what their friends are saying when you’re busy stuffing your face with food right?

From recently becoming a pescatarian, I have been searching for a great Taco Tuesday place that serves awesome fish tacos. Even though the fish tacos are not part of their Taco Tuesday deal, I loved their Nick’s way fish tacos(a soft tortilla with a corn tortilla on the inside topped with lotsa lettuce and guac!). You can get any taco Nick’s way but it just tastes so good with their nicely battered fish! This taco alone was good for me in addition to the street tacos! My only criticism with the vegetarian is beans being the only source of protein. It would be nice if they can add some other vegetables or a seasonal vegetable. Other than that, I had a great experience and thought the servers/bartenders were really accommodating. Yes, especially on a Tuesday, this place can get super crowded, so I suggest not coming in a large group unless you come early! Can’t wait for another taco Tuesday here!

I’ve been here before, and at the time I wasn’t too impressed with their taco Tuesday’s street tacos. Today I decided to give it another shot, I got their Baja taco(which the waiter made it nick’s way and I never wanted that way, but I let it be) and I got their carne asada taco. The tacos are pretty unique, they have a fried tortilla and a soft one on the outside. On the inside they had a ton of filling including the meat of choice, and they’re topped with guacamole and pico de gallo. The tacos are definitely 5 stars, however, for 5 bucks per taco that’s the least I’d expect. I will definitely be back and perhaps try a burrito, but it seem that the tacos are their forte. My advice for anyone who hasn’t been there is to make sure they got their order right prior to taking it in, especially if you don’t want any surprises on your bill.

If you’re a foodie, you can’t miss this place! A typical divey type bar scene with not-so-typical food choices! I’ve been here twice now and I look forward to coming back. I will definitely bring my friends and family here when they come to visit. The seating choices are: –Your typical«sit at the bar» stools. — a few tables along the wall for a group of 1 – 3 — OR there’s community seating at bench tables towards the back(if you’re feeling social) There are a few arcade style games in the back to entertain while food is being prepared. The food is great! The first time I went, my two friends and I ordered five dishes and shared them all. Highly recommend doing this! It lets you try a couple dishes and the portions are huge! Pros: Good alcohol choices, great food, service was great: Cons: if you’re not into the dive bar or sports bar scene, you might not like it. It is small so seating can be hard to find when it’s busy. But it’s worth the wait!

You know that sudden craving you get around midnight because you’re on Unilocal instead of sleeping? Well this hapoened to me last night as I stumbled upon Underdogs. I’ve been wanting to go here for quite some time but was always turned off by the parking on Irving St. The atmosphere is very casual. To sum it up, it’s a bar with a few high tables around. Not good for families. Lots of bar seating though. What I Ordered: * Fish Tacos(Nick’s Way): DELICIOUS! You get a huge piece of fried white fish, wrapped in a fried tortilla that’s wrapped in a fresh corn tortilla, dolloped with a huge serving of guacamole, & topped with cabbage and cilantro. I’ve never had a fish taco like theirs. It’ll change your life. And they are huge!(I’m a big eater but got full with just one… BUT I still ate the other piece hehe). * Elote: Corn on the cob slathered with crema(?) and coated with cojita cheese and paprika. Good but the ones from the flea markets are better. All in all, I definitely will go back. Even if the parking is bad lol. It’s rare to find a good fish taco and I’m glad I found one. Nice one Underdogs!

You can never go wrong with any place that serves Nick’s tacos. I’ve been a fan of his for years but never knew he was behind the one at Underdog’s. I came for lunch last week and while the bar was empty, the service and tacos were great. The bartender recommended I get the baja fish and carne asada tacos. I did just that and loved both of them. I only wish I live closer so I could eat here all the time!

First of all, 3 stars isn’t bad by any means. I think I expected to give this place 5 stars based on all of the Unilocal reviews but once again I learned that you can’t always count on everyone else’s opinions. This place was PACKED on game day, which did give it a really fun vibe while everyone was cheering for their respective teams. Luckily our friends had a table saved otherwise we probably wouldn’t have found a seat at all. We ordered drinks and I got a fish taco, «Nick’s Way.» It was massive. You’ll notice in the photo I posted that the avocado is slathered all over it(which is absolutely not a bad thing) and it’s kind of spilling out of the wrap that it comes in to hold the taco together. I wasn’t planning on getting it Nick’s way, but the waitress highly recommended it so I felt a little obliged to try it out. To explain Nick’s Way: and additional $ 1.25 will get you tons of guacamole, cheese, and salsa. It will also give you a second(hard) shell around your taco. This is the part that ruined it a little for me. My outer shell was so hard that it was almost too tough to bite into, and therefore my force led to my taco spilling all over the place. I think next time I would get Nick’s way without the second shell, or just add avo to my taco instead so it’s not too overwhelming. Cool atmosphere if you liked packed places for game day and decent food, but the service was pretty slow on the day I went(granted it could have been because it was so crowded, but I repeatedly saw our waitress going to the same table to check on them and rarely came over to ours). I wouldn’t mind coming back to try the food again, but I don’t agree that they’re the best tacos in the city.

Get your tacos Nick’s way! For an extra $ 1.25 they give you a huge amount of guac, cheese, and salsa! And the taco is wrapped with a hard shell AND a soft shell… Yummmm. Add the mild green sauce on top and you are good to go! Honorable mention goes to the carne asada breakfast burrito! My bf and I came in here a bit early because they weren’t serving tacos or regular burritos yet. We ended up getting the breakfast burrito and we were both blown away!!! The soft scrambled eggs, melted cheese, tender carne asada(I absolutely HATE it when carne asada is too dry/tough), and crunchy hashbrowns were a delicious combination. I would definitely order that again if I went early enough.

What if there was a place where you and your buddies could watch multiple widescreens featuring yet another game of Steph Curry doing what he does best, everything on the menu is delicious with hefty servings so you really can’t go wrong, a moderate number of beers are on draft, and there’s a formidable array of tequila? What if there were dope squeeze bottles for sauces? And, just for shits and giggles, you can play PAC-MAN or shoot your own baskets at one of those arcade basketball things? On top of all that, the service is friendly and efficient? I know, right? Good luck finding a place like that. Anyways, parking gets really difficult /the joint gets really busy around 5pm. Street parking in nearby residentials are your safest bet; don’t be a lazy prick, go up to Judah or Kirkham to look for spots. Taco Tuesdays -$ 2 street tacos and $ 3 Tecates Margarita Fridays — $ 1 margaritas If you’re new to the area, take 5 minutes to look up Nick Fasanella.

Street tacos, beer, and sports = heaven. I love this place though don’t frequent often. Better to come in large groups so you don’t get drowned out easily by the huge crowds coming in. A variety of Tequila choices and the Mexican food fills you up and leaves you completely satisfied. I had a street taco and Nick’s taco before heading to Outside Lands 2015. Literally devoured it…

This review is solely on the food! So i’ve been here a couple of times now and i’ve had my share of experiences. Okay, so every time I come here I make sure that there is no game going on. I say that because if you just want food without the fuss, don’t go on a game day because it tends to get pretty packed. I’ve been here with friends and have noticed that some servers there look at us differently because we’re not there for the drinks. Or that we slightly look under aged and I believe they think that we don’t belong there… –1 star for the nasty looks. Food wise, i’m a big fan of their carne asada tacos. If you do end up getting a taco, get it Nick’s Way! I believe it adds, sour crème, guac, and beans??? Anyway, one taco is already ~$ 4 but it is worth your money. Also add those sauces that they provide because it definitely brings out the flavor in their food. Occasionally when i’m there with my bf, we get nachos. Steak nachos. Those are heavy. Please share 3 – 5 people if you guys end up ordering tacos as well, it’s pretty huge. Nachos, cheese, guac, steak, sour cream, beans. Make sure you eat it right away because it gets soggy pretty fast.

Girlfriend was raving about the tacos at this place so I finally decided to try it. The taco shop is situated inside a sports bar so set your expectations properly(don’t take your date here, for example, unless they want to watch the warriors kick some ass). As for the tacos themselves, I definitely wasn’t disappointed. The nicks way tacos with guac were pretty damn good. I got the carnitas, and my girlfriend got the shrimp taco + nicks way. They definitely don’t skimp on the guac here as it was overflowing from the top. The salsas they provide on the table paired very well with the tacos. The four stars is due to two reasons. The tacos are very top heavy, meaning that once you eat the guac/cheese/meat from the top, the bottom of the taco was basically just tortilla and some melted cheese. Actually on that note, I wish they gave me less guac and a little more of other filings(tomato, meat). The other reason is that I don’t consider this place cheap in terms of tacos(carnitas was $ 5 and shrimp + nicks way was $ 7, and that’s for ONE taco). In any case I’ll probably still come back here in the future.

Love this bar! It’s always a fun, casual, sporty atmosphere(and not to mention it’s a bit of a Michigan bar so holla at my wolverines ;) #GoBLUE) This is also one of my favorite places to go for Taco Tuesday in the city. One of the best fish tacos in town for sure. But a word to the wise, it gets crowded. Fast. So come here early and park it at one of the tables in the back if you can. Never come here without getting the Baja style fish tacos Nick’s Way. An easy way to get delectable tacos without making it all the way over to Nicks’ Crispy Tacos. The other tacos are no slouch either(carne asada is also delicious), but don’t regret not getting one of these babies. Word of caution: parking is INCREDIBLY difficult in this neighborhood, but the N train is literally one block away and there are a few bus stops nearby also, so it’s easy to get to via public transportation(plus, if you’re gonna drink, don’t drive!) Order yourself a few tacos, a bucket of Tecate and sit back to enjoy the vibe.

I stopped in for some tacos on a slightly drunken Thursday night after hitting up the Corner Spot, one of my favorite bars in the city. Since I was slightly inebriated, I was uhh. A little less attentive than usual BUT let me break it down one time: — CHEESEBURGERBURRITO(~$ 10): Hot damn, this thing is like a California burrito except with a Kobe beef patty con queso chopped up and wrapped with French fries and jalapeños. This is a big time burrito; I couldn’t even finish it! That’s definitely saying something. — GUACANDCHIPS(~$ 7): I’m not sure if these were actually that amazing or if the drunchies kicked in. Either way, the guac was solid and the chips were fresh. I’m not a fan of the tomato salsa layer between the guac and the chips because it made everything kind of soggy towards the end. — FULLBAR: In case the Corner Spot didn’t do me in, Underdog’s full bar definitely put me on the ropes. Touché. — STRONGSERVICE: Servers would come by every 5 – 10 minutes to make sure we were taken care of. I started to wonder if the service was that good or if I looked like I was in constant need of assistance. Either way, I like the attention. — OTHERSTUFF: There’s a basketball arcade game like the ones at D&B where I can get wrecked at. I mean wreck people at. Two blocks from the N MUNI. All in all, I was a happy camper at the end of the night. Seating can be a pain because they restaurant /bar isn’t very big but that’s San Francisco for ya.

I’ve had breakfast burritos all over this town for years, but the La Bomba burrito here is hands down the best I’ve had anywhere in San Francisco. A massive portion with perfectly cooked eggs, well seasoned potatoes, andouille sausage that isn’t too greasy, and perfectly crisp bacon.

Not necessarily the bestest or most authentic tacos or Mexican food ever, but Underdog’s is nevertheless a great neighborhood option to gather in large groups for sports games. If they have deals like happy hour or Taco Tuesday, then that’s an added bonus. It’s an unofficial Michigan bar, so there’s nothing like a merry, rowdy atmosphere full of folks cheering on the Leaders and Best, all over a nice beer selection and a filling crispy taco or two. Hail to the Victors!

Parking here is difficult to find so you may need to circle around the block a couple of times. I came here with a friend because we were given the impression that there was 50 cents margarita. Turned out that they«never» had it, as told by a server. I ordered Nick’s Way. At first, I was overwhelmed with my food because it was huge. I had to crunch it up to be able to eat it and it tasted mediocre. Not only was their food mediocre, but their servers weren’t that attentive. Waited 10 minutes for one just to get a refill and another to get our check. Would not go back to this place.

The more«Americanized» taco — seasoned meats, loaded with fresh Cali avocados & salsa. If you wanna go all out, get it Nick’s Style. It’s not your authentic corner store taqueria, but more like your edgy street food truck. Their chips & salsa & guacamole are bomb! I come here to watch football w friends, talk crap about the other teams, drink a few Cadillac margaritas & eat some Mexican food. The avocado/guac is the icing on the cake here, get anything that contains it & you won’t be disappointed. Sports bar vibes — long bar table & more tables/benches in the back. You seat yourself, communal-style, which can be irritating on game days especially when the Niners are playing. I highly recommend coming early as parking can be a b*%&@ & it usually gets packed. It’s like an indoor BBQ on and given Sunday Football.

The Taco Shop is great whenever there is a big game going on. A wide selection of beer, delicious tacos(Nick’s Way!), and a basketball arcade game at the back make this one of my favorite sports bars to go to. So when the Giants had a crucial game against the Los Angeles Losers(formally known as the Dodgers), I put on my orange and black and walked into The Taco Shop expecting a hell of a good time again. And then the bartender happened. Maybe she was having a bad day. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially when they’re in the service industry. But that wasn’t the case. She was flashing smiles to everyone else and reserving the nose-ring RBF just for us. Or oh shoot, maybe I was wearing a Dodgers hat by mistake! Naw. Looked up at my hat and it was as orange&black as the blood running through my veins. So why was she so mean to us? Why was she so curt to us like her name Curt Schilling? Why did she tell us to stand at a place where there’s no angle to watch the game, but welcomed other folks who stood at the exact same place afterwards? And why did she have to give my friend a «smh» and a valley girl eye roll when he mistakenly asked her to close out his tab? Again, the Taco Shop is great(and for the record, the hostess, bouncer, and the other bartenders were really friendly as well). But I don’t pay $ 20 for a pitcher for it to come with a side of attitude. There are other cheaper establishments to choose from(Bus Stop, Blarney Stone, Dragon Lounge, Yancy’s, Nelly’s, etc.), and they are usually equipped with a team of bartenders that smiles. I’m going to miss the tacos and the atmosphere, but sorry Taco Shop, I won’t come back because I deserve better than that RBF bartender.

Omg, Nick’s way is the best way. Been here a couple times now and never got around to writing a review until now. Come in & seat yourself! Take a look at their menu and order away! To be honest I haven’t really tried much here. I’ve only tried their carne asada, carnitas, and fish tacos — all nicks way. That’s definitely the most important… dont forget that cause they add in a ton of guac, sour cream, cheese for you. The most I’ve ever had is 2 and I’m stuffed. They’re kind of like a hybrid of a taco & burrito lol. I’ve also had their margarita and its pretty good — nothing special about it. If you come between 4:30 — 6, Mon — Fri, it’s only $ 4!
