I went for the first time today based on all the Unilocal reviews. I must say service is definitely 5 star and great. This review is for my sandwiches I ordered. I would say if you come here, be specific on how much of condiments you want, because mine was smothered in mayo, which ruined my meal honestly. I found myself wiping excess off with napkins. Also, minus star for leaving out jalapenos on my sandwich, when the menu said it came with jalapenos, also ruined the sandwich which could have used a kick. Actually all the sandwiches I ordered where smothered in mayo, so I would def advise you tell them if you want light mayo and be specific, like I should have said«only one side mayo please». If I decide to go, and thats an «if», Ill be sure to tell them more specifically. The people are super nice though, I just think I was expecting a diff kind of sandwich. Also minus another star for the high prices. I overlook that because I love supporting small businesses, but 11 dollars for a sandwich is more than I expected to pay. All in all, great service, but I would recommend you be specific when ordering otherwise they def dont hold back on any condiments, which depending on your taste you might not care.

haven’t tried the sandwiches yet, but i’m a fan already. i thought i could walk in and just pick something. instead i was greeted by over 20 varieties of salad. well, shit. what was a girl to do but to get the salad plate, where you can pick 4 salads? biggest. salad. ever. for $ 11. really liked the pesto ravioli, orzo was average, cheese tortellini was excellent, artichoke was a gamble and i learned i don’t like artichoke. but hey! my tastes are not their issue. 5 stars for variety of selection, quality, and portion sizes.

The salad place is an amazing neighborhood find! The staff is so friendly and helpful. The panini’s are my favorite, I haven’t had one I didn’t like! Definitely dtop and check this place out if you’re in the neighborhood

Food was fine — I got a breakfast sandwich, but the prices were pretty hefty for what it is. Service seemed a little slow despite there not being a lot of people in there.

Nice little gem. The sandwiches are made fresh and they have fresh organic juices… need I say more? I had a breakfast sandwich and it was a great size.

Love love love the sandwiches here, and they’re humongous. I normally have to split it into two meals, and their sandwiches are around $ 10-$ 12. My favorite is the House Club Sandwich, the bread they use is super delicious & they heat it up for you. I’ve also had the meatball sandwich which is another one of my faves. They also have a huge selection of salads, just regular greens, tuna salad, potato salad, ceviche, etc. The salads can come out to be pretty pricey, so be careful. My usual are just sandwiches here.

*This rating is solely based on its overpriced menu.(Just like most places in SF now that overprice by 200% or more) I got a chicken Caesar salad which was actually pretty good. I wouldn’t mind getting another if the price went down or the chicken amount went up. I don’t understand how I can get a $ 12 chicken Caesar salad at a nice upscale Italian restaurant for nearly the same price that I got it at this place. Except for at an Italian restaurant they use a grill and not a panini press(and you get at least a whole piece of the chicken breast, not four little strips). Anyways, to begin my rant, this is what’s wrong with the U.S. and why people can’t be healthy!!! This was $ 12 and look at the size of that little chicken. This probably cost them $ 2-$ 3 to make! But you can go to McDonalds and get 20pc nuggets for $ 5. I guess being healthy is now a luxury. Rant over. I include a picture with a hand for scale purposes.

Went for the salad platter. You get a base of greens and then get to pile on any 4 salads of your choice. Artichokes, broccoli, kale, and Tuna salad. All fresh and very yummy!!! No side dressing needed Paired with a nice ice coffee and you’re ready to keep on with the day!

A gem right here in the Excelsior where it is almost impossible to get anything healthy to eat. There are a couple dozen salads to choose from, including those with chicken and lots of vegetarian options. The cheese panini was out of this world, and the quinoa salad a perfect accompaniment. The salads come in three sizes so you can have them as an entrée or side. The menu is large with all sorts of wraps, panini, and sandwiches as well as salads. There are also smoothies and vegetable juices. The service was friendly and efficient. My friend and I wanted to split the salad and sandwich and they served the salad in separate bowls and the sandwich split in two separate baskets. Very view restaurants are this accomodating. The premises are pleasant, inviting, and clean, a refreshing change from the filthy streets of the neighborhood.

I LOVESALAD. Place was kind of more pricey than I’d like but I love the fact that there is a salad place. Lady was very nice and helpful. The ceviche was not as good as I’d hope, but it’s not bad either. I probably wouldn’t ever splurge on the ceviche again, but major props to this place. Get the combo!

The staff is friendly but not very generous. I ordered a salad and noticed that they would give you the least expensive ingredients(lettuce) and leave out the better stuff(artichokes etc).

I noticed this place on one of my walks to the bus. I stop in and observe the following: — clean — inviting — friendly and efficient staff — colorful and organized menu — 100 health score rating on the wall(the Unilocal says 96) I’ve been a handful of times already and enjoyed each visit(also down a few stores down from Pacitas(!!!). I can say I really enjoyed everything I’ve eaten here(breakfast bagels, panini’s, coffee drinks, salads). Only thing I COULD complain about is that it is a little pricey($ 9.95 for a panini with no meat, then they ask you if you want avocado or cheese and that’s definitely going to add up), BUT. The portions are GENEROUS and I actually end up making two meals out of one sandwich, so if you look at it that way, it’s actually a good deal. I am actually happy there is a place like this close by that offers something different from the usual fare on Mission(burritos and Chinese food). I’m definitely a fan :)

Gloria and the rest of the staff are literally the friendliest group of individuals you can ever dream to meet. Love her the most, she’s so sweet. And she makes good recommendations! Coffee is delicious! Although, I normally go for a hot chocolate or latte with a bagel. I’ve also had their egg & cheese bagels, sandwiches, chicken tortilla soup and breakfast wraps. Every single time the food does not disappoint! The prices are pretty reasonable as well. (You really can’t put a price on food that’s made with love!) Parking can sometimes be a pain, but I usually find metered parking right on Persia. It usually doesn’t take long to get your food so 2 quarters is plenty.

The day came when I finally gave the Salad Place a visit. Ahhh after all the times I pass by here but there is no parking available. And so I ordered the ceviche salad. This is just your simple chef topped with shrimp ceviche. Who’s hungry? Cuz the plate was huge. I wished they’d thought of having the salad in bowls instead of a plate. That way it’s easier to toss. They have different kind of salad including potato. And sandwiches and patries too. They have tables and make sure to ask the free wifi info. My large salad and large strawberry banana smoothie totaled $ 18. Expensive? The lady at the counter suggested other ceviche salad style for the next I come here. Maybe I’d do just that :)

I found this little place on Unilocal today and was eager to try it. Unfortunately this place has somehow crossed over to being a Whole foods market, because of their absurd prices. In all honesty if I knew I was going to pay $ 26 for salad I would’ve not even bothered eating here. What’s worse is that it’s not even organic for crying out loud. I know it’s expensive to dine in SF, but really your going to charge almost $ 4 for a lousy cup of cucumbers and tomatoes? My small garden salad, which was hardly enough was 4.95 and a side of cucumbers and tomatoes with(canned) black olives was an additional $ 3.25 totaling $ 8.20 for 1 measly salad. My husband also ordered a salad platter, which had meatballs on it for $ 10.95 and part of his salad came with fruit, but seriously it wasn’t even a cup it was barely ½ of a cup and we definitely felt ripped off. The 1 thing that I truly can not stand is eating at a place that doesn’t serve you decent portions. Come on! It’s just freaking salad! Will it really«hurt» your business if you actually decide to give your customers a decent amount of food to match your ridiculous prices? I think not. So our total bill for 1 very small garden salad, 1 salad with 4 tiny meatballs + 1 oz of fruit and smoothie came to $ 26 and cents. The food here is just okay it’s nothing special and my suggestion to anyone wanting to eat healthy is to just go to Whole foods instead where you know your use to paying $$$$. In a nutshell I don’t like eating at stingy places, therefore this place is an absolute NO for me. NOTE: Also if you are going to eat here be forewarned that you’ll be driving around in circles for about 10 – 15 minutes trying to find parking and it’ll cost you about $ 2.50 for 20 minutes. Not worth it!

Pass this place all the time but never got the chance to try it until today. Its a local place in my neighborhood that sells salads, sandwiches, pastry, hot and cold drinks. Decided to dine in since there’s tables. Had the meatball sandwich for 7.95 without tax. Decent price for this sandwich since this sandwich was quite big. Its a hot kind of sandwich. Good among of vegetables and meatball. The sauce in this sandwich made it tasty and they add good among too that doesnt make it overpowering to the meatball sandwich. The bread had that crispy texture after it had been grill. In the end i did enjoy the sandwich. The workers are friendly and made the sandwich in good among of time. They have a sign that they have free wifi here but i didnt use it during my dining here
