Ate the Kabob Job at Off The Grid San Anselmo. I’ll start this review by saying that their customer service is on point. The guys working the truck were fast, and very friendly. Next, I’ll get to the food. I got the HPP(hummus protein pita). The food was bomb. I got it with the saffron chicken. Don’t let this deter you vegetarians though, they have TONS of veggie options. The nice thing about this truck is that you don’t feel like an awful person for eating it. The food truck life is usually filled with comfort type food, so it’s nice to see a healthier option. Also, did I mention that it’s damn good food? Kabob Job, you have this OtG employee hooked.

Oof. I’m full. Very, very full. So much debacle. With saffron chicken, yummy tender just-a-li’l-spicy saffron chicken. And perfect, not-soggy, not-bland falafel. And some salad on top there, with lots of red onion and all the right herbs, just like mama used to make. Okay not mama, she’s not really the best cook in the fam, but the aunties. Just like the aunties used to make. Need to go visit the aunties, mental note. I want to hug this debacle like I want to hug the aunties. This debacle will not ask why I don’t call, or why I dress(nose wrinkle) «like that», or «when you are get married???» This debacle will possibly ask if I have eaten, and the answer will be no, because this debacle will know when I have eaten, because it will be in my belly. I will not have to say YALLADEBACLESTOPPUTTINGMOREFOODONMYPLATE, like I have to with the aunties. I digress: It’s the perfect lunch! A little rice, a little protein, a little salad. The price is right. Look for the big red and yellow truck.

This truck is awesome! Love the feta fries and the falafel is one of the best around! Amin and crew are really friendly and care a lot about their quality food!

I guess it’s more important to trade among the other food trucks, instead of tending to your paying customers. I guess they’re lunch is more important than ringing up guest. O well lost a customer. And you get a bad review!

All I can day is AMAZING!!! I Went back for another order. I could have chose from other different trucks but why bother. This place is really that good. FALAFELDEBACLEFTW!!! The orange sauce they put in the falafel is so delicious. They have their own twist on tzatziki sauce which I can have on anything. My daughter had a brisket sandwich from another truck which wasn’t that great but with a little help of that tzatziki, it made it better. They are one of the trucks that took part of OFFTHEGRID in fremont. Hope they take part every week.

Gryos, Falafels and Hummus from truck with a very focused menu. The gyro alone deserves a 4-star, but the chili saffron chicken is in 2-star territory, so I guess that averages out to an A-OK 3-star. If you avoid the the chicken, you’ll probably have a better experience at this truck. The Gyro Classique: This totally exceeded my expectations. The pita tasted doughy and very fresh, definitely an upgrade from prepackaged pitas. The gyro meat was very thinly sliced, like the thickness of deli meat. I usually complain that gyro meat in San Francisco isn’t properly seared on the spit and, while that is true of this truck, the super thin slices made up for it. The spicy sauce and the yogurt sauce were super tasty slathered all over the meat. I love that this was mostly meat with some sautéd onions. Who needs useless veggies? The Falafel Debacle w/Chili Saffron Chicken: Unfortunately, this was a big let down. The chicken seemed boiled with only a dab of chili sauce, which didn’t help mitigate the blandness. Either serve it swimming in chili sauce or covered in spices then griddled like halal cart chicken. The falafels in the mix were tasty, crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The hummus and sauces over the rice clashed a bit. Hummus, in general, is a bit muted with a bitter undertone from the tahini. That taste felt like it neutralized the sauces which were so good on the gyro.

SOOOOGOOD!!! The gentlemen in the truck were so nice and helpful didn’t get frustrated with my lack of knowledge about the cuisine and offered so many samples. After finally making a dish that was custom to what I did and didn’t like i ended up with a special take of the falafel debacle with the gyro asada and I’m LOVING it. Thanks for being awesome :)

I have dreams about the saffron chicken burrito. It’s *incredible*.” Slightly spicy chicken, little bits of crisp falafel, immensely flavorful saffron rice, and yogurt and kabob sauce to keep it all moist and juicy. So much better than Señor Sisig. The only knock against the place is the lack of variety. The Hummus Protein Plate(HPP) is also really great, but there’s not much else on the menu besides those two things. But my wife and I don’t care; we just keep counting down the days until we can have the saffron burrito again…

I am currently shoving a whole lot of Falafel Debacle into my mouth and loving every tasty bite. My Falafel Debacle with Gyro Asada is an awesome blend of creamy hummus, crunchy falafel that is not dry, spicy harissa, savory feta, tons of rice and tender gyro meat. It is literally making me swoon with happiness at my desk. I had expected a sad lunch today, and am smiling because my lunch is awesome! I am unsure what the people who criticize the portion size were expecting, but this is a good amount of food for one person. It was the first time I had seen TKJ at the SSF Moveable Feast event and am really pleased with my selection. The service was really friendly, my food came out quick(seeing that there were 7 people in front of me I waited 10 mins max).

Eh, I’ve had much better middle eastern food before. The Kabob Job was good, but there was nothing mind blowing about the food. It also tasted super unhealthy.

Meh to the max. I felt like the chicken platter here was the worst halal platter I’ve ever had. It was super tiny, way overpriced and lacked any depth in flavor. The spicing didn’t taste very middle eastern as the sauce was pretty cream-/yogurt-heavy. I commend them on trying but the prices for this type of food just don’t add up.

Tried the Falafel Debacle at El Cerrito off the grid tonight. It was spicy and 4-star good. They gave me extra falafel instead of tofu, which was super nice. Will buy again. :)

OMG, the kebab job guys have perfected gyro, saffron rice and falafel. I ordered the falafel debacle for only $ 8?! The serving size is more than sufficient. If people complained, they just are being fat asses. The debacle comes in a container packed to the full rim of a base of saffron rice, sprinkled with well done gyro Asada meat(if you don’t like your meat well done and tasty, kick rocks!), bits of falafel, feta cheese, their special concoction of a reddish orange sauce, onions and finally tomato bits. I was perfectly overjoyed after having the first bite. The flavor were a delectable combination. I only gave them 4 stars because of the wait, but on a high note, I got out of the office for longer than expected. Good job kebab guys! P. S. On a great note, all meat is halal!

The Kabob Job offers burritos(8.5), Falafel Debacle(8), «Classics», and falafel sides(4.5ish) locale: OTG: UPTOWN(3÷19÷15) eats: burrito with chicken(8.5 + tax) -«authetic tortillia, saffron infused rice, hummus, falafel, kabob sauce, Tzatzki sauce, chili saffron chicken» is that all there is? tastes only slightly hot chili and sauce. –never seen a fake tortilla before, why mention they use authentic ones? take outs: –way overvalued, poor value. even falafel side overpriced not sure how many u get, it’s .75 or so at most med. eateries. –only chicken, tofu, gyro asada offered as protein. –menu is a FAIL, value wise, luckily ingredients tasted fresh. wouldn’t repeat.

2.5STARS Well, it certainly fits the title of «Falafel ‘Debacle’»: . A scoop of rice, one falafel quartered, bukkake of white sauce with a sprinkling of burnt-to-a-crisp beef chips(gyro asada) and a smidge of tomatoes… all after a 20 minute wait with just one person in line? Ain’t nobody got time for that… OTHERNOTES: *5 star reviews seem sketch; probably from friends and fam. *Only three choices on the menu: burrito($ 8.50), rice bowl($ 8), or hummus pita($ 8.50) –Choice of proteins: gyro asada, chicken, or tofu. –No kabobs offered, yet they’re called«The Kabob Job»? *Poor value. Considering their competitor, Halal Cart in FiDi( ) serves twice the portion size for the same price, they need to either lower their price on their mini-meals, or beef up their portions. *Without looking at what I was eating, I couldn’t tell the difference between the gyro and the falafel because they were equally as crunchy. *Slow service. Not sure why orders took so long if everything is pre-cooked. *CC’s accepted. *2.5 stars rounded up because they’re new and the tzatziki was really good.

Tried out the chili chicken burrito and it was pretty damn tasty. my suggestion would be to add a little more saffron rice to make the burrito itself a little more firm as its quite saucy. I’d do this truck again.
