My favorite flower kiosk on Market! Always fresh flowers, beautiful arrangements, gorgeously displayed and prices are way below what you find at generic grocery stores. I would have expected much expensive prices duebto the location. I like to go and check weekly with the girlfriends from work what is new, as the arrangements are not so repetitive.

Gorgeous flower selection — I picked snowy white hydrangeas and orchids for a birthday bouquet. I think the florist is cheap for a downtown flower shop and moderately priced for the city. The ladies behind the counter are always nice. Go on Fridays when their pre-arranged fine arts-inspired bouquets go on sale(from $ 11 to $ 7.)

It’s been a little over a month since my dad left for work in Chicago, and it turns out he won’t be able to make it back to the Bay this weekend for my mom’s birthday and Mother’s Day. This will be the very first time in 20+ years of marriage that we won’t get to celebrate with him, but even 2,000+ miles away, he gave me very firm instructions to shower my momma with lots of love. In fact, I got a text message and phone call last night and this morning reminding me to pick up flowers and a cake.(Don’t worry, Dad. I gotchu. :D) Or, at least, Valerie at the Montgomery Flower Cart(MFC) does. After a whirlwind lunch trip with my good friend, JQ, to Starbucks for Frappy Hour and City Target for tights, we headed up Market to the MFC to pick something out for my Mom. I really feel for the poor soul that tries to drive to this location because it’s right at on the corner of Montgomery and Market. Luckily for us, we work in the area and just hoofed it. This place is such an oasis of happiness in the middle of a pretty chaotic part of SF. It’s really easy to get caught up, to just rush from Point A to Point B, so it was wonderful to press pause and focus all our energy on soaking in all of the bold colors and the delicate beauty of the assorted flora available at this tiny shop. If you’re looking at the shop dead on, you’ll see some arranged, decently sized bouquets to your right(ranging from $ 7 to $ 13.50), and to your left and in the middle are lots of flowers out on their own. Valerie has lots of familiar flowers(i.e. roses, tulips, and sunflowers), but also some pretty exotic flowers, too(i.e. pin cushion protea, bird-of-paradise, and apricot beehives). The exotic ones, though, seemed to be $ 6/stem. So that really fancy bouquet of exotic flowers you were thinking of? Reel your imagination in a little bit, buddy. I think we can save those for the«solitary stem in a thin vase at your desk kind of treat.» I was having a tough time deciding, but my friend noticed that Valerie was putting together some bouquets in the back and suggested that I inquire about them. I asked Valerie if they were for sale and she confirmed that they were(she was prepping them for Mother’s Day actually). I uploaded a picture of the bouquet to Unilocal and with tax, it came out to $ 27.19. The array smells WONDERFUL and I know that my mom will love them. I will definitely come back here again to support an independent business owner with such a great selection of fresh flowers. It’s an added bonus that she accepts credit cards, too!

The Flower Lady — or Valerie — has been a wonderful service to me, everytime. Even when I have to make orders from my office instead of in person. It sounds like she’s not for maybe 1 out of 5 people(at least those who assume Valerie may know about Van Gogh), but I’ve oft-appreciated her creations, customer service and selection.

Very nice lady there! Every morning I see her unloading her car full of new flowers she got in the early-early morning. She does a really good job preparing the bouquets. I guess she doesn’t get the bouquets all prepared, i am sure she does it herself with hand picked flowers. Prices are reasonable for a florist in the city. She is the best I could find in the Market/Financial area!

Wow, I bought a bouquet of flowers for my anniversary and they were incredible. I called only 3 hours ahead, gave a couple colors, and and a vague idea of what my wife likes and I got an amazing arrangement. For under $ 80(without vase) the arrangement included a dozen rose buds, spider mums, about 10 gerberas, 3 lily stems, some big dianthus, and more.

I was in need of some flowers for a 3-day event and she helped me pick out the ones that were the healthiest, cut them for me and gave me very detailed care instructions to ensure they’d look beautiful for the next few days. PLUS if you buy flowers on Fridays, they are WAY cheaper because they have to get rid of them before the weekend!

Valerie did the flowers for my wedding, and I couldnt be happier with the results! She was so accommodating and understanding of all the changes. She made great suggestions. The flowers were breathtaking! She also let us borrow pedestals so we didnt have to rent any. She is by far the best price you’ll find for a wedding. Setup the day of my wedding went so smoothly. She was the first vendor done! We chose The Flower Cart because the traditional wedding florists are tantamount to highway robbery. Also, my husband has been buying me flowers from Valerie for ~2 years. Her flowers are the best — healthy and live for a long time!

Of all the florists in this neighborhood with pre-prepared bouquets, this one was the best — some pretty arrangements, and naming the bouquets after impressionist painters was a nice touch. However, I fail to see what Van Gough has in common with roses(sunflowers would have perhaps been a better choice?) and overall Sue Chase Flowers across the street is better, for creativity and the ability to actually make fresh arrangements.
