Great champagne, great fries, great ambiance. What more can a girl want? Perfect for a date night or a girls’ night out.

Came here and was really excited for champagne and fries. The champagne flight was great but the fries were mediocre at best. The sauce to dip was really heavy and nothing special. There was one other table when we came and only another one or two full when we left. The service was awful and extremely slow. It was also freezing inside. It seemed like the furnace/heating system of any kind was broken. We couldn’t believe how cold it was. I’m glad I tried it but will not be back unfortunately.

My friend held a birthday get together there on a Sunday afternoon. I only had one glass of champagne and it was fine. The owner was super nice but the low rating is mostly for the food. The cheese platter was bland and pretty subpar. All three cheeses were bad. I usually like most cheeses but this place was a few standard deviations below expectation. Maybe I just ordered the wrong cheeses. We got a bleu, a firm and a soft cheese. The bleu looked completely white, maybe the guy brought the wrong cheese, but it had little flavor and the texture was off. The bree was not very flavorful nor was it creamy. The hard cheese was probably the best of the bunch, although that wasn’t saying much.

Loved the premise of this cute lil wine bar. Champagne and duck fat fries — what else could you ask for in life? Apparently quite a bit. We went on a rainy Sunday afternoon and were one of two parties there. What little attention we received was kinda huffy, and we didn’t know why. Because we asked for guidance on picking our champagne flights? It was also freezing in the space(and we didn’t dare point it out to our server) the entire time, which made drinking bubbly a little less enticing. That said, enjoyed our champagne flights and sampling of fries(crinkle cut if you’re particular about that sort of thing) but the unfriendly atmosphere kinda killed it for us.

The most adorable place for a *pinkies up* girls’ night out. Love the selection of bubbly wines. Intimate enough for good conversations, yet lively enough for a festive night. Enjoyed the duck fat fries with a fun yet classy selection of mayos. Actually, that’s probably a good way to describe the place in general: Fun, yet classy. Excited about this new addition to the neighborhood!

I was told this place is cursed. The French place offered groupons til they closed. The Italian resto that took over folded. Will Fine Mousse make it? Nob Hill was in need of a neighborhood wine bar that spells casual and nice. Nearby Polk st. scene gets too cray and Chinatown bars are too seedy sometimes. Bubbly isn’t just for a special celebration anymore, with prices by the glass from $ 8 — $ 11, the drink menu is approachable AND affordable. Two things he nail with the neighborhood bar concept. It’s no brainer to order a bottle since there are a few options under $ 40.(they have proper celebratory French champagne in stock should the need arise) We polished off a bottle of Cortenova prosecco which was citrus-y, dry and had a slight lingering finish. The duck fat«fries» fell short of my expectations, as did the dips. SF is duck fat fries city and a lot of restaurants have perfected their own version of this offering.(Bourbon Steak takes the top spot for duck fat fries!) Fine Mousse cuts their fries into circles so there’s more surface area to soak up the oil, but it was missing the crispiness that I’ve grown accustomed to. There are several interesting flavored dips to choose from(you get two or three choices depending on the portion size you order) I could do without the apple mustard one, but the truffle parmesan is potently delicious. Can’t go wrong with truffle anything anyway! Owner Jake Hajer doesn’t need to worry, Fine Mousse is a solid pre dinner spot for couples or girlfriends catching up. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Randomly dropped by here while waiting for a table at Nob Hill Café. It was cold outside and we wanted be somewhere warm and cozy. As we walked in I whispered to my friend«Omg this is so cute» There was a few big groups of people, even a few kiddos, couples. It felt really homey. The champagne selection is wonderful. One may complain that they dont have many wines but they do have a few great ones. I was so intrigued by all the mayo choices that came with the fries, they all sounded amazing. But we didnt indulge. This would be a great place for a girls night, cant wait to go back!

I wish I could give more stars. The service was great! Sparkling wine we ordered, excellent. Brussel Sprouts also delicious. But the fries… horrible. They are waffle cut and no flavor. We didn’t taste the duck fat and they were cut to thick. We’ll give it another go if they change to wedges or shoestrings.

This is an amazing little spot. I came here with my wife and my in-laws the Friday after Thanksgiving when we were good and tired of cooking and looking for someone to wait on us! We went through three bottles of champagne(two from Schramsberg, which I was extremely pleased to see they had) and helped ourselves to fries, bitterballen, and a Brussels sprouts dish. Everything was absolutely delicious. The bitterballen melt in your mouth. I’d heard about the fries and was pleased to find them just as tasty as I expected — crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. They complemented the champagne very well. I could’ve easily eaten three orders of them! The owner, Jake, is a really friendly guy who came out and spoke with us for a long time. The wait staff were attentive and helped us sort out our order choices. All in all, this is an unpretentious, warm environment with good drink and awesome food. We’ll definitely be back again.

Super cute champagne bar with a friendly staff! Came in on an early Saturday evening and enjoyed the Champagne flight — which I would definitely recommend. It comes with three half pours of any of the champagnes they sell by the glass. The staff will help you pick the best three for you. We also enjoyed an order of the duck fat french fries(while delicious they could have been a tad bit crisper) — the Habanero & Dill mayo was amazing! I want to go back just to try the other flavors!

Fries and champs? Twist my arm… this place is charming! What a lovely addition to the neighborhood. Tucked away in the depths of Russian Hill and completely surrounded by houses. As others have mentioned, it’s perfect for a girls night, but in my experience, several men came and went. We came in around 6pm on a Friday and found a spot for 2 easily. Three hours later was a different story though — packed! But, it was a fun, cozy kind of packed. Great variety of bubbles plus a few wine and beer options. I tried the brut rose and pinot noir. Both delightful. My +1 this particular evening isn’t much of a fried food person(blessing or a curse, don’t know) so we opted for the brussels and beet salad. While I enjoyed both, I found the brussels a bit dry and the salad unmemorable. That said, they’re claiming fame for their fries, so I must make a repeat visit!

This place is like catnip to women! Sparkling wine, French fries and other finger foods… It’s the perfect bar for a ladies night. Seriously, the first hour my friend and I were onsite, the bar was filled with estrogen. A few dudes(with women) eventually ended up inside, but yeah, the concept leans towards the female side of things. Sparkling rose? Yes. Fries and truffle mayo? Uh-huh. Crispy Brussels Sprouts? Sure, counteract the rest of the fried goodness! Total bill for two women, three rounds of beverages, and several small plates? $ 100. Not bad for a GNO!

Fries and flutes. Fries and flutes. Fries and flutes. Say that three times fast. For a deceptively simple concept, it’s a fun high/low pairing with a lively space that tucks right into a crossroad of neighborhoods. The owner used to be the GM at Woodhouse Fish Co and then ventured into running his own biz with his wife, inspired by dinner parties he used to throw by simply serving fresh-cut fries and glass after glass of bubbly. Space: romantic enough for couples and spacious enough for a gaggle of friends to divide and conquer the menu. Might need a tad more artwork or bobbles though, our voices bounced off the walls a bit. It used to be an Italian restaurant in its previous life and there’s still hints of that. Champs Menu: there are around six diverse choices by the glass and even more available by the bottle. Being the super indecisive millennial generation, we begged to be allowed to try a flight which wasn’t technically available. To our delight, they obliged! And the table next to us followed suit(oops …). Hopefully flights are in the Fine Mousse’s future because it was a great way to sip and savor. Hint hint nudge nudge. Food Menu: you have your choice of duck fat waffle cut fries or fries made in vegan-friendly rice bran oil(more crispy). We all preferred the latter despite being mad carnivores. The mayos completely bowled us over. And you guessed it, we asked for one of each. My personal favorite was the seemingly random blend of Earl Grey & Peach but it completely brightened up the rich fries. The Yuzu Pepper and Habanero & Dill were close behind. Two large fries were enough for four of us as a wind down evening snack. They also offer a smattering of appetizers(I wouldn’t consider them full blown meals) including a collard green salad with goat cheese and golden beets and addictive porcini dusted popcorn. Yaaaas. Welcome to the ‘hood!

Porcini popcorn?! Duck fat fries?! Champagne!!! All winning combinations for after work drinks or a quiet date night out. Happily stumbled upon this place after a friend told me I had to check it out. A thought out selection of champagne and a wonderful menu complete with 8 different aioli accompaniments with the Duck Fat Fries. The customer service is so fantastic it’s as if you were hanging out with a friend. A quaint environment and a brilliant concept is award winning in my book. Highly recommend for everyone to check out and I can’t wait to return. Cheers!

First champagne bar in the quiet neighborhood of Nob Hill. This is a great area to hang out for light drinks and taps. Owners are extremely knowledgable of the different types of champagne and very friendly. I love the duck-fat fries with champagne. The fries are very crispy and light; probably the best ever had and not greasy at all! My favorite mayo is the grapefruit curry, sounded interesting but tastes delicious. Will come back :)

I never knew this before visiting the Fine Mousse, but champagne and fries are one of the most amazing beverage and food combinations. Empty on a Saturday afternoon, but a perfect place to grab a light snack. The owner explained to us the nuances between the different champagnes — I picked the prosecco, and it was delicious. The duck fat fries are also amazing. They’re cut like ridged potato chips, totally crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. The yuzu mayo was my favorite! Will be back.

I was not sure when a buddy told me about«how good the fries were» but… the fries are actually, AMAZING. Great food and drink combo, clearly someone knows what they are doing. Not the type of place for a super over the top fancy meal, but drink and some really good food with friends? Yes. Seems pretty popular in the neighborhood. Look forward to coming back when getting ready for a night out. Highly recommended.

If you’re going to have a limited menu, everything should be good. I enjoyed the duck fat fries(they’re circular!) with creative mayos and the bubbly but everything else that we ordered was lacking. The squid was probably the most disappointing; just a few pieces swimming in a sludge of red peppers, akin to a mediocre stir fry I might accidentally make when trying to use up random veggies. The cheese plate was generous with the cheese, but very cold and could have used some bread/crackers/nuts. Did not get to try the bitterballen because they were out, but maybe that’s the winner? If they work on their menu a little, I might come back again, but right now I’d suggest just sticking to the fries with the cool mayos and the bubbly. At least the descriptions of dishes are vague, so they can easily change things up and improve! I’m not saying don’t go; if they tune up the rest of their bites or if you’re just down for a drink and a snack of fires, you’ll probably have a decent experience. Also, I went soon after they opened, so I’m sure they can only get better.

Went here last night with 5 other friends. This is a brand new champaign bar with food options that apparently just opened this past weekend. The ambiance is rather relaxing and low key — good to catch up with friends or go on a date. Our table ordered multiple glasses of bubbly — everyone really liked their drinks. I got the prosecco, and stuck with that for the night. It was fantastic! We ordered 3 rounds of the large size fries and mayo. The fries were great — crispy outside, soft inside — texture and flavor was spot on, and so was the thickness. They were large ridge circles(sort of look like wavy potato chips, but definitely thicker and a million times better tasting). I think? we tried all of the mayo dip options — the overall consensus was that the parmesan truffle and the habanero dill were the two most favorite flavors amongst our group. We also ordered the beet and kale salad, which was so good and came with goat cheese and pomegranate seeds. The table ordered some sort of deep fried beef balls — I didn’t care for them, but my other friends really liked them. And the mushroom flavored popcorn was really tasty! I will definitely be returning to the fine mousse with other friends — so far it seems to be a great addition to the neighborhood.
