Finally a lounge with decent food, great wifi, comfortable seating. There is a wine bar with a great selection of wine for tasting. The dining area is little too small unfortunately. Also lacking in the number of tables with power plugs nearby. Nonetheless, still one of the better lounges around!

Excellent customer service and very good food. The wine selection is incredible and makes a delayed flight actually palatable!

Nice lounge VERYCROWDED Then they are ridiculous checking 3 forms of IDs to get in. So with a jammed club, the block tables for who knows who«reserved» signs marked 20% of their tables today, the others of course were full… Great ID, way too small

3 hour layover meant lots of time and opportunity to eat. Breakfast — fresh berries, Greek yogurt, frittata, French toasts. Lunch — lamb, butternut squash, and rice. Was surprised to see lamb on the menu but it was way too tough to eat. Foods as a whole was underwhelming compared to other locations. Overall impression — Much busier than the other centurion lounges we had visited. Staffs struggled to pump out enough foods to feed the hungry guests or turn over tables or keep the areas clean.

I love the Centurion lounges. I’ve been to Dallas a bunch of times, Vegas and now San Fran. San Fran is unique since they have a wine tasting. I also loved there speciality cocktail and delicious food.

I had the pleasure on my recent trip to San Francisco to visit this Centurion Lounge which is complimentary for global Platinum Card and Centurion Members. Its a bit smaller than others but a nice lounge. You cant beat free food and alcohol but on this visit the food selection was pretty limited maybe due to the time of night I entered which was 9:45PM on Friday night. All the food items that were available were almost gone and what was available didn’t look so good so I didn’t eat and stuck to the drinks. I’m a fan but a suggestion to this location is to keep the food trays full so not to upset members.

Backstory: The American Express platinum card always had a certain vibe to it, and that vibe is a hefty annual fee, but it does come with perks. One of the perks was lounge access on a lot of the big carriers, like United club, American Airlines, delta, US airways and a handful more. But with the advent of bank contracts with each carrier, United, and American Airlines cut off access to platinum card members, and Delta reduced the privileges and only allow the card holder to enter. This brings a conundrum to American Express, people are unhappy that their lounge privileges are cut, in which they advertise that card as a lounge card, so what do they do? Start rolling their own lounges. Starting with Las Vegas, then Dallas, then La Guardia, and then San Francisco. Subsequently a few more since then. I was hell bent on going during opening so I could receive a gift during the San Francisco lounges opening, and I did, and the lounge was gorgeous. Nice sleek furniture with a glass staircase, glass elevator, a bar, food, shower, wine wall with wine sampling and plenty of places to wait for your subsequent delayed United flight. The food was wonderful, it wasn’t that crowded yet and it was one of the lounges to go if you’re flying out of SFO. I’ve been back a couple times and the food was still as good, they had chicken, and the breakfast had scrambled eggs, sausages, pancakes and bunch of other stuff. Queue up to recently. I just flew back for San Diego and wanted to get a quick bite before I hopped on the Bart home. I went to the lounge, still beautiful as ever, with the live green wall and glass elevator and entered. Walked over to the food bar grabbed the pork, some pasta noodles since everything looked… Drab, and I really wasn’t in the mood for a salad and sat at a table, which was actually kind of hard to find. The pork was dry and tasteless, actually the noodles are the same. What the hell happened? The food used to be good. Don’t tell me the one in Las Vegas is also going downhill, since they had the best cookies. I even heard the one in Miami has fried chicken. But honestly if the food was a lot better, they’ll get all the stars they deserve. It’s a very nice place to relax before getting on your flight. Entrance is 50 dollars for American Express members, and complimentary admission if you have the platinum card, centurion card, or invitation vouchers. As I said, if the food was better, I’d definitely give hem 5 stars. Cheers!

While I have only been to a handful of airport lounges, The Centurion Lounge is definitely up there on my list. It’s modern, luxurious, and conveniently located. Checking in is a breeze, all you need to do is give them your Amex Centurion or Platinum card and literally 15 seconds later you’re in. The lounge is divided into two areas, a food and drink area which is a bit noisier from the open kitchen, and a quieter relaxation area with couches and comfortable chairs. Space is a bit tight in the dining area, so if you have a lot of luggage you may want to ask the front desk if you can stow it with them. Food was pretty decent, but what really makes this place 5 stars is their full bar. They have an extremely good selection, wine tastings, and fantastic bartenders. Tip well! :) It can get a bit noisy since it’s so small and busy, but it’s still worth arriving at the airport early for.

I love the SF Centurion Lounge. Good food, GREAT drinks, great space to work or relax. So good that I don’t mind getting to the airport early any more! They were also open on Christmas day, which, apparently, I was told a lot of other lounges are closed. I was there the week before Christmas too and they had gifts! I got a really nice Coach leather passport holder.

I’ve been to the SFO Centurion Lounge a handful of times now and in fact, I’ll usually arrive at the airport early to take advantage of all the great perks. It is in terminal three, which is only a five minute walk from terminal two if you’re flying Virgin, and the security line in terminal three is rarely long allowing you to easily breeze in and out. On my last visit to the lounge I took my work-wife, Trish and we sat for a few hours chatting and working while munching on the habanero fried chicken, nibbling on the salad bar and slurping on both the freshly made ramen and tomato soup. The food is always top notch in these lounges and with a hefty price tag of, well, zero dollars and zero cents, can you really complain? There is not a cash register to be found anywhere in the bar area(or entire lounge for that matter) and grabbing a complementary glass of top shelf whiskey(or five) is all part of the experience — tip accordingly. Another nice touch is the self serve wine bar, which is similar to the wine bars popping up across the country that require and prepaid card to activate the pour. Not here. Once again the wine is on the house and you can help yourself to as many glasses as you like. Sure you need a fancy credit card to access these lounges and sure those carry an annual fee, but when you eat and drink in airports as much as I do, this is a small price to pay.

Gahhhh I wish I had more time to hang out here! I stopped in awhile back and due to delays I only got to enjoy this oasis for about 30 mins before closing time. That meant that there wasn’t a lot of food left and the bar was closing down. Regardless there was tons of seating and even some furniture towards the back that could potentially let you take a nap! There also is a wine wall that allows you to try a bunch of reds/whites after getting a coupon from the bartender(I’m going to try this out next time I land in SFO which is January — woo!!) You’ve got a great view of the concourse since its a 2nd floor lounge. Everything is awesome — cue Lego song.

It all starts with the smell. That familiar and unique aroma that greets you shortly before you pass through the transparent blue doors that take you into the ground floor of the lounge. Not sure what they do, but it is really nice. This lounge is located adjacent to Gate 74 in the United Terminal(3) at SFO and is one of several of its kind. Operated by American Express, and for the(almost) exclusive use of its Platinum and Black cardholders, the lounge is a perfect spot to hang out before, or even after a flight. The lounge features a full buffet, open bar, and wine tasting station, along with separate areas for resting or working. I think there is even a small play area if you’re travelling with children. The quality of food/drink is always decent. At peak afternoon/evening hours, it can be a bit tough to get a drink since there is usually only one bartender on staff. I more commonly use it in the morning to catch a better breakfast and coffee than you’ll find elsewhere in the Terminal. Time-permitting, I can also fire up the laptop with their fast and free wifi. I’ve even used it to grab a quick bite on my way back from a trip. Access to this lounge is one of several travel related benefits that make it easier to justify the rather steep annual fee for AMEX Platinum. Customer service here is always very pleasant and available… such a nice start to a day before boarding a United flight(a company that could learn a thing or two about customer service!).

This is a very cool place, a touch small but its great. Staff-5 stars in terms of services Food-4 stars… but its free Atmosphere-5 stars SIZE of the place– 3 stars… wish it was larger. 1. free food-warm food. This is how ALL the lounges should be. This alone is worth the price of a platinum card. I have eaten at least my annual fees in this lounge. 2. setting is hip, modern, and very cool. Lots of open air spots, and even some cool community tables. Downside, can be noisy and a bit small. overall a huge plus, if you are a platinum card holder, its a must stop. I enjoy this more than the united lounges as it does have free beer!!!

Another amazing experience at an Amex Centurion lounge. Beautifully done, great food and delicious cocktails(special shout out to Michael the bartender for being awesome and suggesting specialty cocktails, different liquors and being a mixologist master– he even gave me a taste of a top secret, special infused liquor). People like this truly make you feel welcome and special and taken care of. I’m obsessed with my Amex Platinum and love love love all the airport lounges– especially this one in my home airport(still praying for a mini spa!!!) I actually look forward to flying and coming to the airport a few minutes early to enjoy these lounges so thank you to American Express for being a class act company.

So far this Amex lounge and the one in Las Vegas are my favorite! They have a wine tasting across from the bar that’s complimentary of course, with an extensive collection… what more can you ask for!!! I didn’t have any of their signature drinks at the bar but they looked delicious. This is definitely one of their larger lounge locations which is nice so there is room to sit and enjoy the complimentary food they have to offer by one of the featured chefs in San Francisco. All was tasty by the way. It’s so nice to go to the Amex lounge on a layover because it doesn’t feel like you are in the stuffy airport. It’s usually on a higher floor than the terminals which is nice as well. When you walk into this one it just smells fresh and welcoming. Def worth getting the platinum or black Amex to use these complimentary lounges. Can’t wait to have another layover in San Fran!

Really nice staff, great food, and expansive drink selection — all included. Really, a wonderful perk of Amex plat! It definitely gets busy, but it’s still a relaxing place to wait for your flight. They don’t announce any flights in here. Unfortunately, thanks to flight delays I had to stay here long enough to find out that they don’t change the menu much between lunch and dinner. Only change was from broccoli to brussel sprouts. I love the little wine tasting wall. I loved one of the ones I tasted so much I wanted to order a case, and found the winery in napa had 5 stars on Unilocal and that particular bottle of wine went for $ 50/bottle. Not bad for free wine tastings! It’s located in Terminal 3, so if you’re on a united flight you’re in good shape. Could easily stop by before a flight on a different carrier if you have TSA pre(or without precheck if the lines aren’t too long).

It’s a decently-sized lounge at SFO. You can access Terminal 3, where this lounge is located, regardless of what terminal you’re in. You just have to tell them you’re going to the lounge at the TSA checkpoint. You do have to leave and undergo TSA again if you’re in another terminal though. There is a bar, coffee station, and a food station. The food is just OK, but it’s better than the food you’re going to get on the plane. There is fast free wifi, TV, plenty of couches, and outlets. It can get pretty crowded though. I’m not sure if you can access this lounge by paying, but you need to have the Amex Platinum card, or be traveling with someone with that card. It’s companion access for free.

The Centurion lounge at San Francisco International Airport is amazing as all Centurion lounges are. I only had 30 minutes due to a short connecting flight but I was able to walk right in and get the shower room immediately. The soaps and other amenities are all high quality l’Occtaine. Fortunately, I had my leftover salad container so I asked if I could grab some food to go. The front desk us in attendant said no problem. I grabbed some healthy greens, some amazing beef macaroni, and some herbal chicken that was fantastic. My next stop was the bar we’re a very busy bartender to pour me a couple shots of Ketel One with a splash of orange juice. I grab some fruity unsweetened tea on the way out. Platinum Card American Express Membership definitely has his perks this is one of the best perks! Strongly recommended!

The Skinny: Food: the hot food is better here than at Las Vegas however their lack of lighter fare makes it a(3.5) Drinks: selection of coffee/teas/hot cocoa/juices(they had more Mighty Tea options than LAS) were good, better wine selections, cocktails were okay(4) Facilities: better kept than LAS Vegas however busier and noisy — making it less relaxing. Service is less attentive to clearing up dishes in the lounge area.(3) Value: worth it if you’re into alcoholic beverages or if you already have a Amex Platinum/Black card. Otherwise, not worth the price of admission.(3.5 stars bump up to 4 stars) We hit up the Centurion lounge at around 12:40pm and hung out until our 8pm flight. The lounge can only be accessed in post security Terminal 3/International Terminal G via connector tunnel. If you have a flight out of Terminal 1, 2 and International Terminal A, you can access the lounge but you have to go through security twice(first to get to the lounge, second time to get to your own terminal). When we arrived, we were told that lunch and dinner menu was the same and if we needed to use the shower to let the front desk know. Lockers were there but not available for use. Being hungry, we headed for the buffet right away. The first thing we noticed was the food was refreshed frequently. The boneless tempura fried chicken was good although it certainly needed the sweet chili sauce to give it flavor. Was it the best fried chicken ever? No. But it was certainly passable by airport lounge standards. The mashed green peas had a nice kick to it. The udon noodle soup was really bland and tasteless. Ginger rice tasted burnt. The stir-fried snap peas/asparagus were not bad but again not great either. The make your own crostini was a bust with the large bowl of stale grilled bread making the dish textural poor. Salad options included mixed greens, grated carrot, watermelon radishes, grilled fennel, grilled zucchini, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes. Unlike the Las Vegas lounge, they did not offer any lighter fare such as sandwiches which is a shame for the quick, grab and go traveller. There was only 3 desserts we encountered: a good chocolate mousse on the buffet and generic tasting brownies/lemon bars found by the self service coffee machine. Like the Las Vegas lounge, there were no popcorn(which is advertised on their website)/salty snacks. Fruit is available but the quality was not nearly as good as the Las Vegas branch. They had peaches/3 types of plums(some were really overripe), sad looking underripe whole navel oranges(so messy!) and fresh cherries. The bar is quite busy as they are responsible for serving juices/cocktails/hard or premium liquor/fountain sodas. The bartender was exceptionally friendly and kept making suggestions on different things to try. That being said, the signature cocktails according to the hubby were only okay. The hubs also tried the self service automatic wine bar which provided 1 oz servings of various wines x 5 servings per ticket. The tickets are provided by the bartender. Non-alcoholic drinks included a self-service expresso machine that also makes a mean hot cocoa(actually better and foamier than the Vegas version). Drip coffee and a larger selection of Mighty Leaf teas(counted at least 9 different varieties) than the Las Vegas branch were offered. Tried the unsweetened Island breeze iced tea which tasted weak. They did have a special filtered water tap that dispensed still and sparkling water. FYI — they do not have bottled water or drinks so if you want anything thing to go, plan accordingly. Bathrooms are set up better than the Vegas branch with automatic toilets and sinks. All are very well maintained. Shower facilities were cleaned after each use. Seating was limited considering how busy this hub is. All the areas were filled but we were very lucky to snag two loungers — single person only. Noise levels are higher in this hub with more adolescents milling around. The children’s play area was vacant the majority of time we were there. There are two rather large Macs in the corner underneath two fitting portraits of Steve Jobs for use. They offered 2 print newspapers — the New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle. Like the previous lounge, they offer complimentary 4 week digital subscription to the NYT and 3 month digital subscription to Next Issue. Staffing levels were about the same as the Las Vegas hub. They did not come around very often to clear tables in the lounge area although the dining area was immaculate and well serviced. I ended up bussing my own lounge area due to the lack of staff. Overall, it’s a nice refuge at SFO. The WiFi is great and the food is not bad but certainly lacking in variety. However if I had to pay $ 50, I am not so sure it is worth the price tag unless you consume alcohol. Great perk for Amex Platinum/Black card holders though if this is a common airport that you may frequent.
