So blah and the portions are small. I got shrimp pad Thai and there was a ton of tofu and no line.

Don’t understand all the bad reviews. Went here during a busy NBA finals game. The service was good and prompt. The food was pretty decent for a bar setting and more on the authentic side of Thai food. I can recommend the pineapple fried rice, the Tomka soup and the mango sticky rice.

The food is so so… THECUSTOMERSERVICEISTERRIBLE! Boring girls who do not welcome you don’t ask questions don’t smile. Only show that they don’t want to serve you and taking too long for bring the food and drinks. I do not recomend this place. Recomend to change the waitress.

Ive eaten here several times. Each time was mediocre at best, with some questionable service/menu issues, but never bad enough to warrant writing a review. Unfortunately, I ate there one more time and lost all my reservations about letting people know what a catastrophe of a restaurant this is. We wandered in b/c Roam was too crowded, and Thai Stick usually has empty tables. When I walked in it was worst than I expected(3 other people were eating in this largely empty restaurant). We were seated, and then we ordered. This is where the issues started. I asked if the Roasted Chicken special came with Rice, the very tan waitress said it did not. I asked which dishes came with rice, because on the back of the menu, there is an option for adding additional items to your Rice Plate. The waitress told me in broken English that the fried rice dishes all came with rice… Thanks, I would never have guessed.(Quick note, the Curry dishes dont come with rice either. Its like theyre trying to do some sort of bait and switch with the curry dishes. Its a dishonest way to get an extra $ 2) So instead of ordering the ½ grilled chicken I ordered the Duck Fried Rice, and my GF ordered the Prawn Salad, with specific requests to have the dressing on the side to which our waitress nodded her head. The food came, but the salad was mixed in with the dressing despite my GF’s request. We were also given an order of white rice too, so we figured it came with the salad. I know that neither of us ordered it, but its on the table so w/e. The Prawn Salad had 7 small-medium shrimp, and came with a few leaves of iceburg lettuce. The Tomatoes were pretty good. The Duck Fried Rice had about 5 pieces of duck in it, not a lot, but it was a cheap dish. Overall, the food was around 5⁄10. The issues came up when the bill came. As I had suspected, our waitress had charged us for the extra order of white rice. I brought this up to her, and she made no hesitation in showing her unprofessional annoyance at her mistaken order. I thought she was going to say I had mistakenly ordered the rice(since I brought it up about the ½ chicken), but instead she tried to say my GF ordered the rice. Thats when I knew she was full of s**t. She hastily gathered the dishes, all the while chastising us that we «should have told her right away» instead of eating a few bites of the rice. She was loud, obnoxious, and the exact opposite of what good service entails. She yelled in Thai to her coworker,(I dont speak Thai but Im sure she had some colorful words) to change the bill. I dont care about the $ 2, thats nothing to me. I care because this was literally the rudest service I have ever received from a restaurant. You would figure a large restaurant on a very busy corner of an expensive neighborhood would try to have the best service possible when they have only 2 customers during lunch, but that goes to show how little these people care. If they care so little, they deserve to go out of business. Dont spend your money here, dont enable their terrible service, and certainly do not recommend it to friends. At least have a big TV. Hopefully something better will open up soon.

Just in case you are looking at their website, their prices are wrong! I was going to order the fried rice but instead of $ 6.50 like the website says its around $ 11.00. They need to update their prices online. I’m glad I asked how much my order was before I picked it up because I would have not paid for it.

My only explanation for this place still being open is that tourists make the mistake of wandering in here to eat. My wife and I have had some great Thai food recently so we were really in the mood for some more– I should have Unilocal’d this place first like I normally do… but I figured«It must be good, it’s here in the Fillmore». Wrong. First off, the inside of the place is a bit strange… there is a bar area with seats, and then there is a seating area through a doorway… Since nobody seemed interested in seating us for a while, we weren’t sure where to sit or if we were supposed to seat ourselves. The place wasn’t busy so I’m not sure why there was no staff to greet people when they entered the restaurant. The two waitresses were sloppy and disorganized. They messed up my wife’s lunch and brought her the wrong food. I ordered the Pad Thai because that is generally a safe bet at any Thai place… I figure if they can’t make Pad Thai, then anything else on the menu will be crummy also. My pad thai came out and it was white. I’ve never seen pad thai that didn’t have color before. It was really odd. Not surprisingly, it didn’t have any flavor either. It was like they forgot all the spice and seasoning that makes Thai food great. Bland pad thai is really inexcusable. I can’t remember what my wife ordered, but it was equally awful. Avoid this place if you want any form of Asian cuisine at all. Hopefully it will go out of business and a decent place will open in this location.

I have been coming here since the early 2000’s with my wife and we love it. Garlic shrimp, Yellow curry with brown rice Taro root and the Thai salad. I don’t know why all the bad reviews, we love this place and I cannot wait to go get some of this food!

I received horrible service here. I had to keep going over to the bar any time i needed something to get my waitress who was too busy flirting with another patron to bother checking on my table. I still left her a 15 percent tip out of etiquette even though the service was pretty much lousy/nonexistent. I was cursed out for not leaving a 20% tip, told if i ever returned i would be overcharged by 20% and told to leave before the cops were called. I emailed the restaurant to report this incident and never received a reply back. Keep your money in your pocket and skip this place. Spend your hard earned money where you are valued as a customer. The food is eh anyway and the drinks suck and are overpriced

I stopped by Thai Stick last Tuesday, 1÷26÷16, for an early dinner, to find the waitress cussing out a group of customers for not leaving a big enough tip. Really? Who does this?! I’m not sure what transpired beforehand but after complaining about the tip the waitress started yelling«f*** you!», and telling them to leave(multiple times). Regardless of the reason for the small tip, this behavior is totally unacceptable! Let’s remember that a tip is a gratuity and given in exchange for good service. I have never been impressed with their food, drinks or service but would stop by periodically simply because it’s close to my job. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

So my co-workers and I went to Thai Stick to get some food. After paying the bill, the woman that worked there and«served» us looked really confused when we gave her the bill. So we thought we added the tip in wrong. To make a long story short… she was upset that we did not leave her a 15% tip for her crappy service(drinks were whack and service was slow). This woman had the nerve to tell us that the next time we came in she was going to charge us an extra 15% because we did not leave her a big enough tip. WTF!!! Are you kidding me??? I have NEVER, EVER, in my life been questioned about a tip that was left. She then had to nerve to tell the other patrons there what was going on. Again, very unprofessional. So a huge argument ensued and she basically told us to never come into the restaurant again. She was very unprofessional and was literally SCREAMING at the top of her lungs and cussing us out. Okay granted one of my friends was getting a little hyphy(yes, I did say hyphy) but there was no need for her to be that unprofessional. She also threatened to call the cops on us. I will NEVER visit this establishment ever again and I will be calling the manager today to complain. This had to be the MOSTUNPLEASANT experience I have ever been when visiting an establishment. I still cannot believe that she had the NERVE to question our tip. I didnt even want to leave 1 star because of the customer service and the food.

I was in the area and remembered eating here a long time ago and it being ok so topped in for some takeout: tom kha soup to cure my lingering cold. It took 30 min at least, but I was hoping my patience would be rewarded with freshly made soup. On the drive home I noticed a very fishy aroma… weird being that it’s chicken soup. I chock it up to my nose being out of whack. I get home and super excited to eat some comforting soup, and I take my first bite and… yuck! I cannot describe the flavor, but as a very frequent thai food consumer it is not right at all, sorta fishy– like the food has gone off. The chicken is a really weird texture and there are tomato chunks in it but hardly any mushrooms or anything else. I am not even going to eat it because it tastes like it will probably make me even more ill. Super bummed and never falling into the trap again. Looks like a good place to watch the game and have drinks though, as there were several people in there doing just that, but hardly anyone dining.

Horrible service… raw chicken satay. Don’t know what happened to this place :(The location is incredible, which is a huge shame. Maybe they should hire some friendlier service and cook the chicken just about 4 minutes longer.

Calamari was rubbery and Panang was spicy but watery without flavor. We had ordered sticky rice. When they brought our Panang they told us they were out of sticky rice. It was only 6:30pm. How can you be out of a basic item at the beginning of dinner service? Will never come again and now we know know why the restaurant is empty.

Stay away… far far far away. There are too many great places on Fillmore. Don’t fall into this trap like I did. They couldn’t even make chicken satays right — they were really stiff and had a weird texture.

Back home in Florida this is what I’d call«shit food». This is a disgrace to the Thai kitchen, in every single aspect. The only reason I’m here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday is because of the happy hour. Update 6⁄12: they wouldn’t let me bring a bagel in from La Boulange across the street but they do allow a customer to bring her dog in and sit at a bar. And no, he’s not a guide dog. Tried Fish Cakes, worst thing I’ve ever tasted thus far this year.

Tonight I decided to place an order on GrubHub for some Thai food. I decided to forego the usual restaurants and instead opted for Thai Stick. I ordered something that every Thai restaurant prepares — pad thai. How I wish I had checked the reviews on Unilocal before I had ordered. The pad thai, as everyone has stated repeatedly, is bad. Very bad. The noodles are indeed pale, with no trace of sauce. Instead there is a rather unpleasant flavor of some sort. Maybe fishy? Unsure. The tofu was soft; almost soggy. The vegetables would be the saving grace if they weren’t soaked in that same terrible all pervasive flavor. No lemon or lime wedge. No beansprouts. The food came well packaged. If only they placed as much care into the food itself.

Great place to catch a game. The tables in the bar are really uncomfortably low and shared with other parties, though. This only matters when you have bitchy girls next to you who harumph when you ask them to move their giant pile of bags. The pumpkin curry was good, but the stuffed chicken wings were not. Service was really good, though.

Ordered delivery of Pad Thai and a Green Papaya salad. Estimated delivery time was 50 minutes. Took closer to 1 hour. Food was mediocre. I’ve had vastly superior pad thai and green papaya salad. Would likely not order from them again.

Given the lack of Asian food options in Pacific Heights this place comes in handy. Thai Stick is both bar/lounge and a restaurant, so if you’re craving Thai food and you’re in the area, this place can be recommended. Good: — large lounge area, full bar, leather sofas, TV screens — affordable dishes(lunch special: soup and main dish for $ 10, main dish alone $ 8) — fast service Not so impressed: — food is average — portions are not overly big and rather basic But then again, for $ 8 you get an okay Thai dish. Beat that, especially in Pacific Heights.
