I usually do breakfast next door at McDonald. But I’m here to try their breakfast. I had the Chicken and Waffles. The chicken is crispy and juicy but the waffle is not browned thoroughly. All these food for only $ 4.95 is still a bargain.

Went back again today. They were out of rice. So I got their country fried steak special for lunch. It was pretty good for $ 5, although the steak and gravy were too salty and the eggs were completely unseasoned. Coworkers got fish and chips(decent but overpriced) and chicken and waffles(decent, cheap, at least on par with Little Skillet if not better).

I got the bulgogi special and it was excrutiatingly salty and over-marinated. I had to shovel rice in my mouth to compensate. I got seaweed salad and gyoza as sides and they were fine. It’s a good deal for the price but that doesn’t make up for the quality of the food. There’s potential here and I think I will come back in a month or two and see how things have changed.

The restaurant with the strange name finally opened up on Columbus Day and it’s decent enough that I’ve already eaten there twice in its first week. I might’ve made it three had Ruggy J not enticed me with that spectacular night at Alexander’s Steakhouse(but that’s another review). The menu( ) at TEN7M has a bit of Korean flair to it. You order at the counter and the made to order food is brought to you when it’s ready. I’ve had both the Bulgogi and the Bi Bim Bap and while neither of them dazzled me both were good and filling. I ordered one of the appetizers also from their long list, and even though I’m not a big fan of coconut I am a big fan of deep fried. The deep fried Coconut Shrimp were pretty darn tasty. My first visit was on Wednesday for lunch. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi. Two sides from a long list of hand-written choices that I was told changes daily are included with the selection. I chose the hot corn and the gyoza as my two sides and had a 20 ounce fountain drink to dine in. That’s when I noticed this( ). Two days open and the condiments are all still manufacture sealed. The food must be perfectly seasoned I thought. The waitress brought me my Beef Bulgogi plate( ). The hot corn was as good as any I’ve had from a can, and the filling in the gyoza reminded me of those Ling Ling Potstickers many of us buy at Costco. That’s not entirely a bad thing. To suggest that the stir fried beef might be marinated would be a bit far-fetched. The thinly sliced beef was a tad overcooked and would have been flavorless had it not had a thin sauce drizzled over it and the steamed rice. Overall, it wasn’t completely satisfying, but it was filling. I returned the next evening because my workload didn’t allow me a lunch break. Part of that was my fault too though because I felt compelled to post a Unilocal review instead of go out for a bite. They got one of their flat panel televisions all hooked up so I could watch SportsCenter during my visit. I ordered the Bi Bim Bap and the Coconut Fried Shrimp with a soda to dine in. All of the food arrived at once. No complaints there. I was hungry. If you’ve ordered Bi Bim Bap at other Korean restaurants you probably already know it’s quite a beautiful dish to look at. TEN7M’s version of Bi Bim Bap( ) is pretty colorful also. Arm yourself with a bottle of Sriracha before you try this though because, trust me on this, the kimchee is pretty mild in taste. The egg was over fried as I prefer a runny yolk in my fried egg but all of the other ingredients tasted fresh. The spinach, the bean sprouts, the crunchy seaweed, the freshly grated carrots — all good! The beef was the same exact beef served in the Bulgogi, but the steamed rice was overcooked, and I hate clumped up sticky chunks of rice. Move on to the Coconut Fried Shrimp( ). These were pretty darn tasty as I mentioned before and as good as the ones I’ve had from the Outback Steakhouse chains. As soon as TEN7M gets their liquor license approved you can be sure I’ll be back for cold beer and deep fried goodies. Will try other items on the menu and update as I see fit. Welcome to the neighborhood, TEN7M! I’ll be coming back for more!
