Cozy café with free wifi that opens late? Yes, please! There is a decent amount of seating, though it may get a bit too cramped between tables. I only saw a couple outlets so make sure you charge your device ahead of time! The place is nice and toasty; great place to get out of the cold SF air at night. On this visit, we ordered a slice of the chocolate ganache and a slice of the cheese tiramisu. My boyfriend really enjoyed the chocolate ganache, though I preferred the lighter cheese tiramisu. However, both were on the sweeter side and weren’t of the best quality. Decent price, and huge portion, at a little over $ 4 per slice. The parking situation is terrible. You’ll have to park a couple blocks away, and even then parking is not guaranteed. I wouldn’t mind stopping by if I’m looking for a late night place to chill, but wouldn’t go out of my way to frequent the place.

I came here because reviewers suggested I give it a try. First of all, my espresso drink was awful. It’s a decent place to study but don’t come here for the ambiance, as there is none. The coconut macaroons I had were tasty. This place is open late which is cool but overall it’s little better than Meh.

There’s a good variety of tarts and cakes. Everything is beautiful and looks delicious. Everything I’ve had isn’t too sweet and is just right.(And I’ve had a bunch of their cakes and tarts) It’s also open late so I’ve always seen people just studying. It’s definitely seems like a nice quiet place to study and also just a delightful place to end a busy night with a delicious fruit tart or fill that chocolate cake craving. Overall, I like the café atmosphere and the opportunity for an occasional indulgence in a cake(or two).

Of all the times i’ve been here, i’ve only ordered one thing… The mix fruit tart! At less than $ 5, it’s one of the most satisfying options here! The custard is creamy without being too sweet and the crust is super flaky. And even though some of the fruits on top are from a can… They’re still delicious! My friends and I like the pineapple and the mandarin oranges. I’ve also had a bite of the chocolate hazelnut cake which was yummy too! I’m not a chocolate cake person though, so i’ll probably stick to the mix fruit tart. :D Tart To Tart: open late, yummy desserts and pastries, a lot of seating, and there’s free wifi! It’s an awesome place for just hanging out with friends or studying.

Been coming to this place for 3 years now. Usually purchase whole cakes for birthday or holiday gatherings. Noticed it’s a decent place to also do some studying so I came in one day to get work done. Sat down before ordering to get settled in. Figured I’d build up an appetite before ordering something. Not more than 5 minutes and I noticed a lady behind the counter staring over at me. I didn’t take attention until she came over to tell me that seats were for customers and demanded that I buy something in order to sit there. I understand that it’s a business and maybe they get loiterers often, but being a Nazi about it isn’t the kind of customer service that will keep people from coming back. Lady, you just lost one loyal customer over a seat charge.

A solid 3 stars. It’s not bad but it’s not great. It’s just an SF inner sunset staple that is there and will always be there to stay! :) The pros are that it’s open late for all those late night study sessions for all the UCSFers. The study environment is great– it’s quit quiet and there’s plenty of tables, coffee, and food to help you through the night. Another(NEW) pro is that they now sell Mexican food within the café! Haven’t had it yet but heard good things. The cons are that the coffee and pastries are just really not that great. I can’t say they are absolutely horrible, but they’re not better than your grocery store bought goods. In fact, most of the pastries are actually somewhat bland and dry– especially the scones. They’re big portions though, and not too expensive, so that’s the positive side. Some of the cakes/tarts are decent.

Now with a Mexican Grill! The Mexican food portion is run by the great folks who used to run L’Avenida down the street. Coffee and nachos for lunch!

Damn it is stuffy in here. Other than that, this place is okey dokey. They also have a burrito and ice cream place merged in the front. Lots of seating and places to sit. Drinks and pastries are all mediocre. Come when it is cold outside you need a place to study. Wifi password is their phone number with the ‘1415’ included in the beginning(you’re welcome: P).

I think I just had higher expectations. First thing first, I don’t know if it was just me or if it was hot in there. It’s nice that they have a lot of tables and it looks like a place you could get work done at. We came close to midnight and they seemed well stocked, so it’s a nice place to grab a slice or two during late nights if you’re craving I guess. The pear almond was alright, nothing special or anything that wooowed me. The raspberry lemon tart was the last slice, so I was expecting it to be good but it was probably something I’d pass on. Don’t get me wrong, we all have different taste. It was just a little too sour for my liking, but I guess what do you expect if it has lemon. I don’t know. I don’t think I’d actually be back just because I know there’s other places I’d enjoy more. It was terrible, but it could’ve been better Oh, I didn’t enjoy the hot chocolate but it’s just hot chocolate… I’ve went through the reviews and I feel like people seem to enjoy the muffins more…

The only good thing about this place is that it is open late for students like me. The pastries and cakes are pretty bad. I had one bite of the carrot cake and couldn’t take another. The wifi is slow. There are some outlets and plenty of table space.

Hey guys, I really like their cream cheese muffin. It is the bomb. So Tart-to-Tart is a cool little place in inner district. It is one of my favorite places to go and study. There are plenty of chairs and plenty of outlets in the store and I have never been bothered for staying to long. Oh also, they open later then most places. If Tart-to-Tart excels in one thing, it is their dessert variety. They have shakes, ice cream, fraps, and pastries. They also have your usual coffee, latte, and tea drinks for those who just want to sit and hang out. Here are a few of my problems with this place. –being located in the inner sunset, parking can be a pain. –Their air-conditioner is non-existent. Usually this is not a problem in San Francisco, but i f you are planning on studying during finals week of spring semester make sure that it is not hot day or else be prepared to be in a hot and stuffy room. –I’m not sure why their wi-fi is so slow, sometimes it is to point where I cannot get anything done and I have to leave the place in order to find a better place with better internet. If they want better business, then they need to fix that right away. If you have some books you need to read, or non-internet related studying then this is the ideal place for you. The biggest redeeming factor is how late it open(later then most Starbucks). Beware of the wi-fi though.

Love this place for: 1– nice service: always smiley, great sense of humor and professional. 2– internet doesn’t suck so much. 3– open till 1 am If you have lots of work to finish after 7 pm or you’re a nocturnal person, what else do you care about?

Tart to tart is great because it has tons of seating and from my experience is never super crowded-so it’s a great place to come to study or catch up on work and not feel guilty if you’re there for a while. They have a wide variety of pastries and cakes and their coffee isn’t bad, though it’s nothing special either. Give it a shot if you want to study, but maybe try somewhere else if you want an experience out of your coffee shop.

I’m so disappointed that I hadn’t found this place sooner! After a long 8-hour haul of studying at UCSF, my friend and I walked down a few blocks to get you know, caffeinated! We came across Tart to Tart and spotted a cozy nook in the back. With our hot beverages and delicious cookies in hand, we were set-up for another 4-hour study sesh! I was so thankful that Tart to Tart was open until midnight. It’s a great atmosphere to get work done. I’d say most of the people there were students of some sort. They had a variety of items on their menu in case you came in for something other than a pick me up. But, don’t pass up on their chocolate chip cookies, they’re like a Mrs. field cookie meets brittle aka amazing! The prices are quite affordable as well, and they offer free wifi! I think I’ve definitely found my go to study spot in the neighborhood.

When you walk into places like these, it’s always hard to decide what to get. If it wasn’t for me seeing this delectable piece of pie on someone’s table I probably wouldn’t have ordered it. My nosey self had to ask these two gals if the chocolate pie was any good. When they both enthusiastically said«Yes, you have to try it, it’s so good!», I walked right up to the cashier and said, I’m having exactly what they are having and pointed to the Chocolate Pecan Pie. One fork into my mouth and I was sold. Sometimes chocolate pie is too sweet so that you’ll have to gulp down milk with every bite. This wasn’t the case here as the chocolate was creamy and just the right amount of sweet. Another great thing about this place is that there were lots of people sitting and enjoying themselves.

I find myself here more and more so I figured I should elaborate on why. Their hours are great. Open at 6am until midnight so early-birds and night-owls alike can flock here for a study space. It’s usually pretty empty so one can find a table and spread out. The service is really friendly – the main woman who works the counter is so warm and hard-working. Coffees are cheap and GOOD! 1.75 for a pretty big small and 1 $ refills. The pastries look delicious(haven’t tried’em) but there are also breakfast sandwiches AND a burrito place in the back of the store. The burritos are INCREDIBLE. they are giant and besides having too much rice, really really good. The burrito place – a hidden gem. I maintain that it’s still a bit scuzzy. The bathroom is of questionable health-code status. Clientele, including me, are a bit … quirky we’ll say. Lighting is low so it gives it a weird vibe but I’ll go ahead and say it, I like the weird vibe

As I slowly nurture my budding relationship with cafes, I found myself revisiting Tart to Tart. Honestly, it’s not a bad study space. It has lots of large tables, a handful of outlets along the walls, and the lack of background music can be somewhat conducive to productivity. Plus, it’s open herra late. Like, herra late. Recently, I tried their APPLETURNOVER, $ 2.75, $ 2.99 after tax( ). It reminds me of McDonald’s $ 1 apple pies, except the turnover has a much lighter, flakier crust, with a more generous, not-as-sweet filling( ). Definitely better than the cakes I had last time. Slowly but surely, San Francisco’s café culture is taking over my soul *___*
