Tamara Mack Design

We used Tamara’s team to sell our home. I would not personally use her services again especially considering the amount of the fees charged. A couple of reasons why:
(a) I was initially attracted to her portfolio of works online, but I unfortunately, I don’t think the work she did on my home met up to those standards. Despite the fact that staging is partly subjective, I definitely think that there was room for improvement.
(b) While I think her team initially showed flexibility to work us into their schedule (so we would sign on as customers), I can’t say the same was true throughout the rest of the process. I felt that I was nickeled and dimed along the way, and that the contract was written purely to protect her interests. For example, I was disappointed to see that their terms didn’t include an insurance provision to protect us in case they damaged our house or other property in the course of their services, and that, we had to provide notice to remove the furniture no fewer than 14 days prior to the date of the removal or otherwise, pay additional fees. Not to mention, there’s a hefty 80% initial deposit amount due practically immediately upon signing of the contract.
© As is, we made minor requests after the staging was done. We already felt that we had little room to propose more substantial changes since that would most likely have increased the fees even more so. Even our minor requests were not addressed on a timely manner, despite Tamara’s reassurance that some of the issues were be addressed prior to our first open house.
In the end, our home sold above our asking price, but I have yet to attribute the sale of our home to the staging, or if we could have used comparable services for less with fewer unpleasant exchanges.

My husband and I recently sold our SOMA condo and hired Tamara Mack Design to stage the two bedroom/​two bath space. We were thrilled with the job she did! The condo looked amazing and we received so many compliments. We loved all the little details she added to make the space feel warm and relaxing. From towels in the bathroom, to shower accessories, to the beautiful, live white orchids, Tamara Mack really does have a great vision and is very talented. Her team is friendly and very easy to work with. They had great communication with us, were very flexible with our constant moving target of our real estate schedule, and really went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the work. Smooth move in and move out, which made the building’s management happy. I highly recommend Tamara Mack for any staging/​design needs!

Tamara did a great job in staging our house in the Marina. She listened to our ideas, made tweaks as needed and made the house look beautiful. Tamara is fast on her feet and decisive, which I really value in this time-​starved world. She has excellent taste, and offered advice and opinions when we ha to make decisions along the way in getting our home ready to sell.

Tamara and her crew were total pros, and nice to work with. Our Richmond District home looked amazing after she had worked her magic. Bottom line, we sold it for $ 225K above the asking price. Hiring Tamara was well worth the investment.

Tamara Mack and her team are a pleasure to work with. With her fantastic staging/​design our Pacific Heights home sold in less then two weeks. We received multiple offers and sold for over asking! Her design made our home come alive and look fantastic! I would highly recommend working with her. Additionally she made paint, lighting and other small recommendations, which brought out the best in our home!!!

Tamara staged my condo in San Francisco when it was on the market and I had a horrible experience working with her. The inventory she brought looked cheap and several pieces were broken. She also installed a heavily textured rug inside my living room that destroyed the hard wood floor because it was full of cement dust. Upon removal, the finish on the floor was abraded in the pattern of the rug, with additional chemical damage. She refused to take responsibility for the damage or cover the cost of repair. Furthermore, the painter she recommended we hire painted the house in all mismatched wrong colors and we had to pay again to have it repainted. On top of all of that, she is extremely overpriced.
