Just wrapped up half a day at a kids birthday party in a field nearby and stopped in here for a restroom and quick kid’s dinner break. Kid’s grilled cheese and fries came out fresh and hot. Also it was less than $ 4. There’s a good menu of simple snack bar food like burgers, salads, etc, including vegan and vegetarian options(black bean burger, etc). Nice view of the little lake boat dock, college football on TV and no worries at all about having kids running around!

Nope, this is not a review of Stow Lake. Even Golden Gate Park was hot, hot today. I will reserve my review of Stow Lake on a colder day when BF and I ride one of the pedal boats. This is a review of the Stow Lake Snack Bar serving exhausted but happy pedal boaters and row boaters with goodies and drinks. Stow Lake Snack Bar saved me from overheating today. I attended a work retreat by the Log Cabin down the hill from Stow Lake. It was 94 degrees outside and I was dying. I was getting dehydrated, light-headed and feeling like I was going to pass out. We had plenty of barbecue, pulled pork, sausages, hamburgers and fruits. But my mind was only on one thing: ANICECOLDDRINK! Our drinks at the retreat were not cold enough. I thought it was a lost cause until I walked up hill to use the restroom. I spotted the snack bar at Stow Lake and guess what I saw?! ICEE!!! Ice cold $ 2 White Cherry/Blue Raspberry Icee – the drink of my teenage years. It was like finding an oasis in the middle of the dessert. Stow Lake itself was deserted except for one brave family who was pedal boating in the 94 degree weather. Hope they brought plenty of H20 unless get tempted to drink the algae green lake water. Gross thought, I know! Stow Lake Snack Bar sells all kinds of snacks including veggie hotdogs. It is also the place to pay for boat rentals: $ 24/hr for pedal boats $ 19/hr for row boats Maximum 4 people per boat.
