We speak Spanish and English in our house so things are a little tough for our son to catch on to both languages. First off I left a voicemail and was called back within hours(very cool). They even called my insurance carrier for me to check on how often we could meet to be covered. We set up an appointment with this place and before we even discussed an appointment, Shannon just gave us a few ideas to play with which totally helped out. We had an appointment within days and things went great. Very happy with the decision to go with them, and I will update as things progress.

My son is 4 years old and has a severe speech delay and has ASD. He was diagnosed at the age of 3 and my husband and I are doing everything we can to get him up to speed. I’ve scaled back work and only work part-time so I can spend more time helping my son develop his communication skills. We initially got a diagnosis for my son’s speech through the childhood development center with CPMC and their waiting list for a speech therapist was months long. Because of that, I asked them for a list of speech therapists in San Francisco and one of their recommendations was Spencer & Kong. A previous colleague raved about Spencer & Kong so I decided to go ahead and give them a call. Plus, they accepted my husband’s and my insurance which was a huge plus! Spencer & Kong has been amazing. Shannon Kong and Katie have been just wonderful! They know so much and have helped me navigate through the school district and have even offered to attend my sons IEP meetings. My son loves going to speech therapy and is all smiles every single time we go. The therapists are great. I couldn’t even muster up the energy they have when they’re working with my son. My little boy is starting to come up with more words and has yet to start speaking in sentences but he is doing so much better with his communication skills ever since we started going to Spencer & Kong. I highly recommend them. They are amazing people. Definitely give them a call if your child could use their service.
