My friend and I came here for dinner and enjoyed it! The bar was quite lively and the staff was very knowledgeable in preparing cocktails for us that were off menu. We shared the cesar salad, spaghetti and meatballs and another pasta dish(can’t remember the name). Everything was excellent! Staff was on point and helpful with suggestions for our meal. Great spot for dinner w/friends, family, significant others and a large group.

I came here from Arizona to celebrate Mother’s Day, and had previously visited for a very special late evening Christmas Eve dinner. Both were equally delicious. The chef was very sweet and made their specialty oxtails for me, even though they weren’t back on the menu yet! They are exquisite. Try them. Perfect service. Ambience is warm and inviting. I don’t usually like background music while I’m dining. But their music selections were fantastic. I wish there was a similar restaurant in Arizona. I’m sold, and will return here every time I visit the city. BRAVO, Spaghetti Bros.

Had the new burger last night — so good! Two(dripping with goodness) thumbs up! Missing the salad with crispy quinoa though. But the caesar is a lovely addition. As always — the staff is so welcoming and I can see why people see this as a date night place but also a great neighborhood joint. Love the red tables outside!

I’ve always wondered if this location was cursed because of the continued turnover. I’d heard great things about Spaghetti Brothers and was optimistic, but given our lackluster experience I guess I’ll need to wait and see how things play out. We were the second party to arrive at the restaurant(we have young kids) and the first to order… and seemingly the last to receive our food. Due to the clear mishap in the kitchen, they kindly gave us an additional(free) appetizer. Unfortunately it was one our kids didn’t like, so it didn’t quite help the hunger pains they were exhibiting! When the food finally did arrive, my cioppino included only a ladle of broth along with a few clams and some shrimp and crab. Hardly enough for the $ 30 price tag and not enough to even dip a piece of bread in. The other meals were fine, but nothing was amazing. While the staff did their best to make up for the pitfalls, I think I’ll be waiting a long time before I go back.

My wife and I almost decided against going here because of all the bad reviews saying essentially that portions were too small, the service was bad and the food wasn’t worth the price. I am so glad we decided to go here anyway, because dear god were those reviews wrong. The portions were large, the service was fantastic, and the food was DELICIOUS(and absolutely worth the price). My wife had the spaghetti and meatballs, which was homemade pasta and perfectly cooked. I had the pork chop, which was honestly the best pork chop I’ve ever had in my entire life. We also had their take on a caprese salad which was wonderful. We can’t wait to go back.

Classic cocktail service without hipster pretension. They’re going to know your favorite call, and they won’t try to sell you on some overly-sophisticated«craft boutique bespoke cocktail» menu. They have it, but they respect people who know what they want. I said my reviews would get shorter… Go. It’s loud, casual, and spendy… a deal breaker for some of the old timers in town. This is overly casual, and so I end up overdressed, as I am prone to do. The servers are fantastic and fun, while still being skilled and knowing boundaries. Toasted Raviolis are wonderful. The Spagettini Uni is a must try. So interesting and balanced in the flavor profile. no huge head explosion or surprise as so many restaurants attempt. But just GO. you don’t need my ridiculous course after course description. This is a great treat and one of the lovely meals out that isn’t overly dressy while still being modern fine dining without tablecloths… ie the heart and soul comes from the kitchen, and the front of house is there to execute that, and not the other way around.

We had an amazing experience here today for brunch. The service was absolutely amazing. The servers were super friendly and very attentive. Even the chef came by to check on us after we finished eating. The bartender was talkative and very welcoming. We ordered the ricotta pancakes and house-made Italian sausages(served with crispy potatoes and a poached egg). The ricotta pancakes were out of this world. The best pancakes I have had in a long time. They were served with butter, maple syrup, and delicious and super fresh strawberries on top. We were in heaven. The sausages were slightly spicy and full of flavor. Both dishes were perfectly executed. They have an espresso machine so we ordered a latte and a cappacinno. Both were excellent. Probably the best service experience we have ever had in the Marina to date and the food matched the service. Definitely check them out for brunch and on a nice day snag one of their sidewalk tables!

From Best to last place: — Strawberry ‘Good Humor’ Cheesecake Ganache, Vanilla Gelato, Shortcake Crumble: This was insanely good, I would come back just for this. — Chard Gratin — steak came with this as a side, very delicious ‘charred’ chard with lots of cream and crunchy bits — a bit heavy as a gratin is expected to be, but worth it! — Steak for Two with Bone Marrow, Chard Gratin, Rosemary Frites & Bordelaise — The steak was definitely tasty — grass fed etc., others preferred Bobo’s by comparison. The bone marrow was simple. Solid dish, recommended — Meatballs alla Marinara — meatballs were meatballs but that marinara tho… I could just order a side of that sauce, it really made the dish. — Strozzapreti with Dungeness Crab, Lemon Butter, Bread Crumbs & Chives — the pasta was chewy/al dente, the others were fans, but it was just alright for me, maybe I’m not a seafood/pasta gal. — Spaghetti with Local Uni Butter — had someone with me that is a huge uni & uni/pasta fan, we preferred SPQR for this dish, but the pasta itself was cooked to perfection. — Toasted Raviolis & Marinara — nothing to write home about We weren’t thrilled with the taste of our wines by the glass choices — take time and taste them before committing.

An altogether superb dining experience! APPETIZERS: The toasted raviolis are awesome; they come atop savory marinara sauce, and you can tell the raviolis were freshly made. The crudo with lemon and chili oil had a wonderful mix of flavor and the fish melts in your mouth. The baby beets and avacado with goat cheese dressing was a great blend of richness and acidity with a subtle tang. ENTREES: Chicken caccatiore was sizzling and very tasty with a good helping of chicken immersed in delicious sauce. The Strozzapreti with crab, in lemon butter sauce, with chives and a light bread crumb coating was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. Fresh pasta was cooked to perfection; tender, but with a nice chew to it, and it wasn’t merely a vehicle for the sauce/crab… it was exceptional in its own right. DESSERT: Flourless Chocolate Torte was rich, chocolaty, and incredibly decadent, and it paired very well with the Chantilly cream. If you love chocolate, you’ve got to try this! The Strawberry Good Humor was one of my favorite desserts of all time. Layers of vanilla gelato, cheesecake ganache, strawberries, and shortcake crumbles. This was a perfect combination of the sweetness of the gelato and richness of the ganache, along with the tart notes and juiciness of the strawberries.

Friday was my 4th visit and each time I discover a new favorite. Start with a Negroni(classic or roll the dice!) and don’t miss Aaron’s garlic bread to kick things off. We had the asparagus with burrata starter — totally seasonal and great texture. The chopped salad is a go-to dish as is the roasted vegetable salad main which is great for sharing too. I’m a pasta freak and everything is made fresh and picking one is going to be the hardest decision… so make your dinner companion order one too! Love the main courses whether you go seafood or straight up order the steak to share. The sides that come with the steak are epic. And the desserts are outstanding — most recently had their Strawberry«Good Humor» Cheescake in a jar… just the essence of strawberry and cheesecake while being ethereal. Go eat there!

Awesome place! Or party arrived for dinner at 6p so the place was not busy yet… Our server(Bianca) was friendly spoke clearly and advised us of specials while informing us about prices(that’s always a plus is my book). We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was awesome! To our surprise they somehow made a beet and avocado salad(one of their specials of the night) taste amaze balls(weird huh?)! I deducted one star because when I picked up my napkin to begin my awesome dinner there-there were tiny glass shards on my plate. I know it was an accident and the manager on the floor(Will) did come to apologize. Also Bianca did bring us an app(which we totally appreciated) on the house BUT my mom was going to sit there… And she’s older(can’t see as good as I can) what could’ve happened??? None the less I’d totally come back!

This new neighborhood gem is absolutely fabulous! Everything from the décor to the dining experience to the service screams excellence. The bartenders Robbie and Trevor are super friendly and will mix you some fine cocktails. The first time I went in, I had the Garlic Bread and Pickles, both flight my senses into a most pleasurable flight. Since then, I have sampled the most delectable Oysters(yes, and only $ 7 for 6 at happy hour) and the Pork Chops, goodness so yummy. I intend to make my way through the menu pretty quickly by visiting very frequently and am extra excited about having the steak for two with bone marrow. It shall be done… and soon. If you are even considering visiting this little haven in the Marina, don’t think… just GO.

Dear Friend, Thank you for a fun filled day of walking through several neighborhoods in SF and playing tourist on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We built up quite an appetite and usually I have a lame excuse to splurge on a nice meal but tonight was special. Not the kind of special like celebrating an anniversary, that’s just lame. But the kind that makes you want to pat yourself on the back and share that celebration with someone else. What better way than with food. –Seared Foie Gras with Duck Ravioli — Okay, when you think ravioli, you think 8 – 15 pieces of bite sized squares filled with some kind of meat or cheesy filling, in this case, duck. Wrong. Here, they serve you one huge piece of ravioli, I wanna say 4×4, stuffed with duck, topped with a large piece of foie gras. The presentation was different. The foie gras balanced out the duck as it was a bit salty. The caramelized onions and grapes added a bit of sweetness to the dish –Steak for Two– Okay, my bad for not reading the whole description. It’s not just STEAK for two, its steak plus fries plus bone marrow plus chard gratin. The steak was cooked perfectly, although the pieces in the center were a little chewy for my liking. The fries were okay. The bone marrow was good; I usually have bone marrow with bread but this time I had it with the steak which was different. Overall, I was slightly disappointed with the ravioli but everything else was good. Service was great. Even though the company was decent and the food was good… wait, its the other way around… it was a good way to end the night. Thank you.

I made a reservation to dine here on a Saturday night. Much needed as every table and bar seat was filled. Excellent cocktails! Though I heard they make a good negroni, i opted for Elixir No. 4 which was a delicious rye whiskey drink. I know garlic bread doesn’t sound very exciting. You have to order it anyways. Aaron’s Garlic Bread is what real garlic bread is or should be. It came piping hot with a thick layer of garlic and herbs. If i were just out and wanting something salty and carby to soak up some liquor, i’d be happy to eat this. Toasted raviolis are okay. I craved and wanted even more cheese and marinara. Swedish meatballs had a nice lingonberry jam. One of the nights specials included a great trout dish over risotto. It was beautifully plated and tender! Radiatori pasta with pork and chili oil on the printed menu is worthy of an order if you’re looking to mix up the usual bolognese sauce. Nice spot for date night.

An old school vibe(like Original Joe’s in North Beach) upgraded for modern tastes and a Marina vibe. Not really a traditional Italian place just as the name would imply. The cocktail program is solid and more spirit forward than fruity. The food was overall solid with a few standouts: Uni Spaghetti(4⁄5) — one small slice of uni but A healthy amount of uni butter. The spaghetti itself was standard. Garlic bread(5⁄5) — packs a lot of flavor. Best bite per dollar on the menu Calamari pasta(4⁄5) — very tasty pasta dish Duck breast(4⁄5) — good accompaniments and the duck itself was solid though not stellar Swedish meatball(3⁄5) — okay but not nearly as good as traditional takes and certainly nothing close to what you can get in Sweden. Still, not terrible here Cioppino(5⁄5) — very well executed. Needs more bread which they will give you. It is definitely single person serving size and not the huge servings you might get elsewhere. Overall there is surprisingly few pasta options here but what they do do, they do well. Service was solid.

Went to SB for a friends Bday dinner last night. There were 8 gals at the table. I was a little disappointed in that: — there are only a few pasta dishes — the portions were definitely on the small side — a small sparkling water(6 oz) cost me $ 5! — prices are on the high side — this is not a traditional Italian restaurant and I just think they’re trying to hard to be sophisticated by the menu & décor & dark lightning The garlic bread($ 8) was delish, buratta salad was small, toasted ravioli was a great starter to share, radiatori pasta was amazing & looked like the most generous portion compared to the other pastas, dessert menu was yummy although I think they could take a more classic approach to the tiramisu. Full disclosure: I am Italian, have worked at 2 top Italian restaurants in SF& expect great things when I eat Italian food. I do not feel like I need to go back again given the menu, portion sizes & high prices. The food quality is high but I just don’t think I got my moneys worth given all the available options in SF.

Oysters were really good at $ 7 for 6 at the bar during happy hour! Too bad the bartender was really rude and asked what about cocktails? and seemed disgusted when we declined. We were just waiting for our table to be ready. Uni pasta was too al dente for me but the flavors were still tasty. The trout dish was excellent! Great place for a date or catching up with friends.

The appetizers are really good too! The environment kinda gives an old school vibe but still good. What I ordered: — Crudo with Lemon & Chili Oil(soo good!!) — Aaron’s Garlic Bread(freshly baked) — Toasted Raviolis & Marinara(not my favorite — it was ok) — Strozzapreti with Blue Crab, Lemon Beurre Blanc & Chives(recommend!) — **special: Salmon Risotto(delicious!)

Came for Valentine’s Day dinner and had a great time! Love the ambiance and the service and the food was really delicious. We opted to order from the regular menu and not the prix fixe. We had two glasses of red wine suggested by our server(I love when servers are knowledgeable about the wine menu and can make suggestions!). We started with the toasted ravioli which were delicious– I could have definitely eaten an entire plate of those! We then moved to the burata salad which had this nice kick from sliced peppers and a nice sweet contrast with the citrus sections. For our main we got the spaghetti Cacio e Pepe(gotta try the spaghetti at a place called«spaghetti brothers») and the Mom’s chops. We wanted a more traditional spaghetti with red sauce and even though it wasn’t on the menu, we got some red sauce/tomatoes on top. Was still missing the traditional spaghetti and meatballs but my bf pointed out that the restaurant was probably serving the dish the traditional way. Pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce it came in was so buttery we asked for bread to soak it all up. Pork chops were my favorite bite of the night. Definitely a must order if you come here! Our server recommended the dish and was spot on with how good it was. Perfect for sharing as well! We finished our meal with the chocolate bread pudding. A bit too dense and not served hot enough but the flavors were there. The ice cream helped with the richness. We were properly stuffed at this point in the meal! Service was impeccable and I liked the old school vibe of the place. The jazz music playing throughout the night added to the feeling of being back in the 40’s or something. Had a great time!

Based on the extremely rude and unnecessarily aggressive phone conversation I had with the manager of Spaghetti Brothers today, there is no reason to dine at this restaurant. I called this afternoon to cancel my dinner reservation because my wife is sick with a bad cold, and was told that I would be charged a $ 50 cancellation fee. When I booked the reservation through OpenTable, this policy was not stated anywhere. I told this to the person on the phone and assured him that I would be dining at the restaurant sometime soon, but unfortunately there was no way we could make our reservation tonight. Who wants a sick person in their restaurant? He became very angry, continually talked over me and was essentially yelling at me through the phone. Not only was he unhelpful and unaccommodating, he was downright rude. At no point did I even say that I wouldn’t pay the penalty — I just told him that it wasn’t posted anywhere, and asked him if he could make an exception because of my situation. He kept going on and on about how the fee was needed to help the restaurant recoup the lost cost of our table. That may have made logical sense if the restaurant was fully booked and our table could have been filled with other customers, but as of this afternoon there were still at least four time slots available for dinner tonight through OpenTable, including other availability for 7:00pm. In shock that the person I was talking to was being so disrespectful to a potential customer, I asked him to speak with the manager of the restaurant but to my surprise he informed me that he was the manager! While I don’t agree with charging customers a penalty when they call to cancel their reservation ahead of time, I really don’t agree with getting in a fight with a customer over the phone and giving them such a negative experience with your restaurant before they even walk through the door. To me there is no excuse for treating a customer so poorly, particularly as the manager of a new restaurant in San Francisco.

3.5 Stars I was looking forward to trying out this new spot in the neighborhood. It’s kind of hard to identify the restaurant, because they don’t have a sign or any indication that of their name outside. The first reaction I had when I walked in: «I feel too young for this place.» Elegant, romantic and spacious interior with a lot of older looking couples. Their name is a little misleading. They sound like a bro-claimed pasta joint with hefty portions. Contrary to my assumptions, their portions were very small in comparison to what you pay for. We started off with the oysters and buratta. I loved the citrus hints to the buratta. The dish was big enough to share among the four of us. We then moved on to the uni spaghetti. The dish was perfectly cooked! However, I felt like they added more buttery sauce to make up for the tiny piece of uni. Nonetheless, I’d split this dish, because of its richness. We also tried the Swedish meatballs and duck scallopini. Sadly, none of the dishes were a standout. Perhaps I’ll come back later after they work their kinks out.

3.5 Stars. Spaghetti Brothers really impressed me upon walking in with its ambiance: darkly lit, romantic ambiance, spacious long bar, and a great, welcoming layout. This is a fantastic restaurant for a couple, friends, or a small group. They also have a pretty nice semi-private dining room that comfortably accommodates 8 – 10 people. What sparked my curiosity to dine here was their Spaghetti with Local Uni($ 21). Since Urchin Bistrot has closed its doors and 1760 has removed their Uni Bucatini dish(1760 changes dishes seasonally and every couple of months) from their menu for the time being, I was so eager to order Spaghetti Brothers’ version. While the Spaghetti with Uni was definitely the star of the night, the other dishes were pretty ordinary; in addition, the food to price ratio was pretty disappointing. I’m fine spending good money on a dish, but a few bites per dish is pretty insulting. Among the four of us, we split oysters(3.5/each), The Uni Spaghetti($ 21), The Burrata($ 15), Swedish meatballs($ 24), and the Duck Scallopini($ 26). We also ordered 6 drinks total. My bf and I shared the Negroni($ 12), Spaghetti Western($ 13), and Page Two($ 12). The drinks themselves were good but really light. For drinks that are going to be served in the small 3 oz glasses(which seems to be trendy in San Francisco these days) — I’m expecting a stiff, delicious drink. I just didn’t feel like these drinks were more than $ 8 or $ 9 a piece for how they were crafted. Fortunately, we went to Whitechapel afterwards and ordered a few drinks that were also served in the petite 3 oz glasses, but I felt I was getting a lot more of a well crafted cocktail there. The Uni Spaghetti was satisfying and worth the hype– perfectly cooked al dente pasta with buttery uni flavor and topped with one piece of Uni. However, I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to return here, when I can get better value for my money at 1760 or Cotogna.

A friend and I shared three pastas. All three offered perfectly al dente noodles and delicious sauces. A lot of things on the menu looked good, but we stuck to the pasta section since we both love noodles. * Spaghetti with local uni butter — $ 21 The best uni pasta I’ve had since 1760’s uni bucatini! * Strozzapreti with blue crab, lemon beurre blanc, chives — $ 20 Perhaps the best of the 3 dishes. * Rigatoni with oxtail sugo, Straus butter, breadcrumbs — $ 23 Perfect crunch from the breadcrumbs. * Grilled broccoli — $ 8 Nice lemony flavor and char. The space was spacious and dark. The area we were seated in had ornate silver panels on the ceiling, dark red walls, and chandelier-shaped light fixtures on the walls that gave the space a faux glam luxe vibe.

Get the spaghetti with uni better. So rich. So good. The portion looks just about right, not too little, not too much. It’s so rich, though, that you’ll be satisfied about 2/3rds of the way. Use their delicious bread to scoop up the savory uni sauce. Also, get their garlic bread and toasted ravioli. You won’t regret it.

One does not trek to the Marina for merely any restaurant or bar. I had been meaning to dine at Spaghetti Bros for a few weeks, and to my delight, it was well worth the wait(and hauling all the way to the sorority central.) The space itself, contrary to what one might envision for a bro-claimed pasta joint, is intimate and dark — even a little bit ambiguous, and I noticed a lot more couples than larger groups. We started off with the Crudo and toasted ravioli, both of which I would recommend. The Crudo had a flaky salt with lemon juice and chili oil topping that made each bite a flavor trip. The ravioli tasted unlike what I expected, but then again, it was a fried dish. For something fried, the crisp wasn’t fully there, but it was delicious either way. The next dish we had was the Heirloom Radicchio with Crispy Quinoa, Toasted Seeds, Herbs & Buttermilk Dressing. I like the innovative idea here(I’ve never had heirloom radicchio, nor crispy quinoa), but it was a more bitter than my palette called for. The crispy quinoa was an interesting twist, and this might be interesting in a creamy pasta dish for an extra crunch. The next dish was my favorite, being the pasta lover that I am: Strozzapreti with Blue Crab, Lemon Beurre Blanc & Chives. One of my favorite styles of pasta, the Strozzapreti was perfectly buttered without feeling too heavy. There was a tad less crab than I would have wanted, but I’m also a seafood fanatic so what can you do? Finally, the last dish for the table was the Cioppino with Grilled Bread & Vadouvan. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this dish, but it ended up being a nice array of shrimp, calamari, and some scallops(I think.) The sauce was spicy and great for dipping with the fresh bread. Pro tip: ask for more bread, because two slices is not enough for all of the sauce. You can’t forget the bottle of wine to top everything off. There was a huge selection, naturally, so there’s sure to be something for everyone. Ultimately, everything tasted good and I wouldn’t mind going back to try more dishes. Not sure if they have a happy hour here, but that’s definitely something I would pursue because the prices are on the higher end.

It looks like a fancy fine dining restaurant, but the giant bar at the front keeps the restaurant casual. Loved the food and appreciated the great service! Loved the toasted ravioli and brussels sprouts. Rigatoni was super flavorful and delicious. Kind of a loud restaurant and you do feel a little close to the tables around you, but it’s not too bad. Overall, the place is OKAY. It’s not fine dining in my mind, as the sign outside suggested. We had the escargot, which wasn’t great. Burrata was great but overpriced, the crab pasta and uni butter pastas were great but small portions, and dessert seemed a bit of an after thought. The baked Alaska was overly sweet with no balance of texture. Service was shocking. The guy bringing out of our food looked like the bus boy so I was never sure if he was bringing out plates with food or scraps. He also just plopped our plates down and ran away. The wait staff was inexperienced, lacked confidence, and cohesiveness. Finally, the wine! Omg this was bad! $ 18 glass of cab served poorly in a small Pinot stemware! Atrocious! Also they didn’t offer a wine list, just wine by the glass. This place needs work. I’ll come back if friends want to go.

Pasta is my favorite food. My boyfriend’s family is Italian and they make delicious homemade pasta and sauces very often. Together, we also enjoy trying new restaurants that serve homemade pasta dishes. Tonight we shared the Macaroni with Green Chile($ 16), Rigatoni with meat sauce($ 24, Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe($ 14), and the crab pasta($ 19). For all the dishes the pasta itself was good. However, with the exception of the Macaroni all the sauces were okay at best. The Macaroni was good and I recommend it to anyone who finds themselves at this restaurant, the chile brought in a nice flavor. The Rigatoni and Spaghetti sauces were both just okay. Lastly, I do not recommend the crab pasta to anyone. The sauce was like a crab salad that you find at a grocery store deli — overwhelmingly crabby and mayo taste. Overall, I give this restaurant two stars because you can significantly better pasta at other places in SF. At Barbacco you can get a bigger portion of delicious pasta for the same price. At Locanda and Catogna you can get an even higher quality pasta dishes for the same price(though the portions will be smaller). Delfina is also a good option but a little pricey for the quality to ratio in my opinion. Spaghetti Brothers did have some tasty drinks(Seasonal apple cider with whiskey). They also had a nice staff. I hope they refine their pasta recipes over time and wish them the best.

This place hits on all cylinders. We were warmly greeted, seated and treated like family. The jazz and R&B that filled the room was loud enough to notice how good it was, yet not in any way loud enough to make it difficult to converse. Our server was prompt, very knowledgeable, and interactive. We had the wonderful pickled vegetable dish to start with. Between the 4 in our party we had the clam linguine, the trout entrée, the rigatoni bolognese, and a lovely prawn dish. The food was delicious and we all argued about whose was best. We will most definitely be back. What an outstanding establishment and we wish them all the best.

What a pleasant surprise… Did not know what to expect, given that this was a another new place in the Marina — and my previous experience trying new spots in the neighborhood were mediocre. This one’s different. Well-designed dining room, albeit on the dark side(nothing ages you like the realization that yes, you need that flashlight app on your phone to read an otherwise legible menu). The burrata with citrus sets you up right, and the radicchio salad is an amazing party of textures and flavors — it should really have an entrée-size option. The pastas don’t disappoint, as both the rigatoni and the spaghetti with uni butter were cooked in a perfect shade of al dente, with balanced flavors that left me scraping the last bit of sauce. To cap it off, tiramisu made of nilla wafers and a tasty scoop of pistachio ice cream sealed the deal. I envision return visits to explore the rest of the menu.(Orrechiete with cheese and green salsa, I’m on to you.)

Spaghetti Brothers bills itself as a fine dining establishment, so I will hold it to that standard in this review. The space itself is very well done. Except for the bathrooms, it is easy to forget the place was once occupied by The Republic, Jones, Marina Sports Bar etc. The food received mixed reviews. I had the eggplant, which was uniquely plated, but ultimately too thick, bland, and mushy. My mother had the Linguini in white clam sauce, but said the clams were chewy and undercooked and the pasta tasted as though it hadn’t been rinsed. My Stepfather had the Rigatoni and loved it. The service was lacking. Our food was delivered and we didn’t see our waiter for probably 15 minutes. This is an Italian restaurant, yet we had to specifically request parmesan cheese and bread, both of which came after our meals were almost finished. Our food should have been served from the left and removed from the right, but it was both served and removed from the right. Worse, the busboy stacked the plates as he removed them. Nit picky to be sure, but again, this is fine dining. A bit of training would clear this up. Lastly the cost strikes me as being a bit high — $ 150 for two rounds of drinks and 3 pasta dishes. I will return to give it another chance and will update my review if needed.

Went for my Fiancé ‘s Birthday, and would say one of the best spots in the Marina. Intimate, good date spot. And that doesn’t even cover the food. The rigatoni with oxtail was great; 5⁄5. The orecchiette was even better. Imagine Gnocchi, but with a kick and less filling; 6⁄5. And the staff was extremely attentive, almost to a fault. I would recommend this to anyone. Especially those on a date, or family events.

The food, overall, was great. We loved our toasted ravioli with marinara sauce, the warm bread, and our spaghetti. The only thing about the spaghetti we both noticed was that it was pretty bland(we made sure to douse our dish in red pepper flakes). That possibly had to do with being made in a white sauce, but we were both hoping for some good tomatey marinara type pasta. Either way, it was a good twist /still tasty, but not what we were expecting. The best part of our meal was easily the dessert. We got the earl gray budino type dish — basically the middle was iced espresso flakes, topped with whip cream, and the bottom was a rich chocolate fudge with earl grey flavored icing. It was absolutely one of the most unique /best desserts I’ve had. Pros: +Extremely good service — my water kept getting refilled, our food and drinks came out fast, and the waitress was extremely nice +Interesting apps — we tried the toasted ravioli and really enjoyed it! +Tables are not too close together — huge plus after having been in tooo many crowded, cramped restaurants Cons: –Limited veggie options –Need more spaghetti options if you’re going to be called spaghetti bros? Will be back!

I wasn’t born to run. When I set out for longer runs, I have to come up with different mental scenarios to keep myself going. Sometimes I have the Rocky theme song running through my head. Other times, I think about all the delicious restaurants I’m going to try as I run past them on my way to the Marina Green. Spaghetti Brothers has been on my radar; technically, the old Republic was. I didn’t know what they were going to do with the space, but I ran past it several times a week. So after a few weeks of their opening, Husband and I made it over for a date night. The place is very nicely redone — it’s dark and feels like a wonderfully posh, sophisticated jazz lounge(there was also jazz music playing softly). We were seated along the back wall, and the tables weren’t too close together, which is really great — they aren’t trying to cram a billion people in here. We started off each with a drink — the Floridita Daiquiri for him, the Spiced Pear Swizzle for me. He downed his in like a gulp(it’s super small), and I tasted nothing but tequila in mine — there was no pear flavor whatsoever. I ordered the chopped salad(yum) and the rigatoni(HOLYCRAPDELICIOUS but maybe a touch too greasy). Husband tried the orecchiette mac & cheese — this was so good I made him save some of it for me as I powered through my salad, and the gulf prawns as his main. I didn’t have any of the gulf prawns, but he seemed to like them. I did manage to snag a bite of their grilled bread dipped in the broth, but after my super rich rigatoni, I couldn’t discern too much of the flavor in the broth. Really liked the size of their pasta dishes — they’re not too big, but they’re definitely enough if you want an entrée and a salad to start. We had room for dessert, so we both got a scoop of gelato: milk chocolate for Husband, pistachio for me. While I really liked the flavor of the pistachio, there were sooooo many little chopped up pistachio bits in there that I wasn’t able to taste the smoothness of the actual gelato until I tried some of the milk chocolate(amazing, by the way). Perhaps just a few bits of pistachio would be better than it speckling the entire scoop. Overall, this is a super solid place for dinner in the Marina. We liken the food quality and taste to Fog City, which is one of our go-to places where we know we’ll be getting a good meal for a decent price. Next time I run past, I’ll be thinking of their pastas. And milk chocolate gelato. And then running faster so I can burn more calories that I’ll be re-ingesting here.
